Okay, something else must be wrong. I have auth_method set to tiki. I tried resetting the password for my user with the "I forgot my password" tool. I get an email, I follow the link, but when I give my new password I get error: Invalid old password or unknown user.
I know the user exists in the users_users table

ricks99_: I applied the SQL to reset the password. I can see it made the change in the fields for admin. That didn't let me in with the new password
However, when I exceeded 20 failed login attempts, it sent me an email for account validation, and that worked
So I'm in
But what's weird is that the password reset emails didn't work at all

Well listen to this.... I rolled the DB back to the point where I last saw the link and currently it is visible on site1. So I've since created site2 by copying the dir, created a second DB and imported a copy of site1 DB.
site1 shows the link, site2 does NOT!
technically they are exact copies in time.
