ChanServ sets mode: +o chibaguy chibaguy: Is it normal for all the css files to be linked to twice, once as media=screen and once as media=print?
After upgrading 4.1 to 5.1, do other people get "a new version, Tiki 4.3 is available. You are using Tiki 5.1." ?
Why wouldn't the editing and performance admin icons not display even though they are in the file system?
And what would cause all the js files to not load (500 internal server error)?
(Sorry, but just upgraded a site and it wasn't smooth.) ***: Sug4r has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection)

ChanServ sets mode: +o chibaguy chibaguy: polom xavi: hi chibaguy chibaguy: hi xavi -: xavi comparing right now header.tpl with header_simple.pl xavi: I think I found how to add jquery to tiki-index_p.php... :-)
s/add/add functions to allow chibaguy: ok xavi: so that this way we'll be able to keep documentation in themes.tw.o, and include it through iframe (and tiki-index_p.php) into doc.tw.o
like "InfiniteCarousel" and others
I hope (still testing in my local) chibaguy: Do you mean just have the demo in the iframe? xavi: nope, the documentation about features, like Infinite_Carousel
I don't see sustainable to have to maitain documentation in two places chibaguy: Does the iframe content get printed, when you print the doc page? xavi: good question! :-) no idea...
still testing ealier things
"no idea" = "no idea... yet :-)" chibaguy: I thought that was the problem with using iframes at doc.t.o to include content from other sites. xavi: ah, good point then...
so probably not... :-/ chibaguy: What I'd like is if the Include plugin could include wiki page from other Tiki sites. :-) xavi: +1 :-)
did you try snarf plugin? chibaguy: I have no idea how that would work, though.
Yes, I used snarf a long time ago, not recently though.
It works ok for static content; I don't know about other things though. xavi: ok chibaguy: But at least for now, it'll work to use iframes. If people need to print it, they can go to the source site. xavi: ok
confirmed that carousel also works inside tiki-index_p.php with my fix (besides tabs, etc.) chibaguy: :-) xavi: works, as good (or as bad) as with tiki-index.php, at least chibaguy: probably there should be a link on the page, indicating where the iframe source is. xavi: the buttons underneath are repeated more times than expected chibaguy: ah xavi: have you ever used plugin JQ media?
I see that it's been introduced in tiki6 chibaguy: at themes.t.o, I used an iframe to display the carousel on the home page, at one time, and used css to block display of some of the page items. But don't know if that could be done easily using two sites.
(re: buttons displaying twice)
No, I didn't even know about JQ media. xavi: buttons displaying more times than expected: this has nothing to do with iframe yet. :-/ chibaguy: oh xavi: whenever you test tiki6(trunk), have a look at infinite carousel performance/display
ok, back to commit state.... CIA-65: tikiwiki: 03xavidp * r28957 10/trunk/templates/tiki-index_p.tpl: [FIX]Allow javascript (and thus, JQuery tabs, etc.) to work when pages are displayed without header, footer nor side columns
tikiwiki: 03xavidp * r28958 10/branches/proposals/5.x/templates/tiki-index_p.tpl: [bp/r28957][FIX]Allow javascript (and thus, JQuery tabs, etc.) to work when pages are displayed without header, footer nor side columns xavi: chibaguy. do you have access to themes.tw.o through ftp? chibaguy: no xavi: ok chibaguy: not anymore. changi is in charge. xavi: a pity that we (admins) are not trusted/allowed to make simple changes in the sites that attempt to manage ... chibaguy: the price of tight security, I guess. xavi: maybe
we can't even edit templates through: http://themes.tiki.org/tiki-edit_templates.php
:-/
ok, I forget it. it's commited to proposals... let's hope that the quality control gurus can review those "proposals" one day, and update *.tw.o sites
and I disable again the edit templates features in themes.tw.o
s/features/feature chibaguy: well, I guess anything you need to do at themes.t.o, etc, ask changi. that's the way that was chosen to do it, apparently.
I can't add new theme files when I update a theme. I have to ask him to do it, if they are in mods. Or email them to him if not in mods.
kinda sucks.
but I guess it is the nature of server admins to minimize risk. ;-) -: chibaguy is sharp tonight: on two PCs side by side, tried to copy on one and paste on the other. xavi: :-)
sharpness of chibaguy: do you know that you can do that?
well, in my last job, I learned how to do that....
if both computers are in the same lan
wifi network at home, etc. chibaguy: really? xavi: yes :-)
well, tested at leat in GNU/Linux
least chibaguy: oh, maybe possible with windows, I don't know. I try not to deal too much with windows if possible. xavi: what they use in my current job at uni (mornings job): http://www.nomachine.com/download.php
and I installed at home, and it works like a charm
in my case, both machines are running GNU/Linux (ubuntu, in my case)
from my dual screen desktop, I can log in my laptop, as if I was there
and work in one or the other... and copy & pasting works, etc.
fyi chibaguy: I see.
Looks like fun to try out. But I usually don't have a need for that. xavi: In my case, yes. desktop has all data, and everyday use, connected external disks, etc. but laptop is much more powerful
so when I need to run eclipse, web server stuff, commit, compare versions, etc. I use laptop only now (It was a kind of headache to have to svn up un my desktop and my laptop...), etc.
and it I want to review and tag my video catalogue (in my desktop, etc.), I can do that from another room at home (living room, sofa, etc.), from the laptop...
in mycase, I reduced a lot the amount of copying files between computers, etc.
(video catalogue for my teaching classes, etc.) chibaguy: yes, I have separate svn and tiki localhosts etc, which is a bother some times. But I'm away from home with one laptop so need it to have its own files. But apart from that, I see what you mean about avoiding duplication, etc. xavi: yes, that's the point. that why I decided to have all those files in the laptop mainly (all tiki branches, etc.)
so that I can use them when using the laptop away from home...
but also when at home, without the need to re svn up from another computer another file tree, etc. Tikiwiki|bot: New Forum Posts: Statistics homework - http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=4&comments_parentId=38421 chibaguy: Heh, I suspected that new user "homework" might be a spammer. spam and spammer deleted.
