from the pretty tracker template's {f_23|escape}? Annoyingly, tiki5.1 pretty tracker still adds the paragraph to the text area types. Q2: Tiki5.1 adodb does not handle new tracker comment properly: the values are put into an array, which is not used as exploded. The result is a comment saying
.. Q1 is also a security leak in my opinion.

a sandbox to play around would be another idea - why not? but mostlikely with a second installation like www.ws-sandbox... or so
workspace and perspective is not really a difference
to get a workspace out of a perspective (or several?) you just need to configure the categories and the permissions for that perspective
the core and the killer, that really extends Tiki is the perspectives-feature
even in Tikiwiki2, when I started a year ago, I did setup kind of workspaces, but I was limited by the menus and by the group orientation
my start for my project was always the idea of an intranet with virtual work groups
perspectives now allows to divide a Tiki installation into any number of layers

combining this layers of visibility with certain rights/permissions organised by groups and categories, you can setup kind of bubbles - the workspaces - that can be nearly independent websites or virtual work groups

so multidomain is not so much necessary for workspaces, but extends the hole thing again massively (in my point of view)

Tiki is - like many other content managing systems (for ex. drupal, joomla, typo3, wordpress, mediawiki, ...) a PHP-Software, that sends HTML content from a webserver to a webclient
chahn: what you see in your webbrowser (Internet Explorer, Firefox etc.) is still HTML, never mind wich CMS the webdesigner uses, or if he is coding PHP or HTML or whatelse manually
perspectives is just a function in the software Tiki, that allows site-structures and views, wich different "big" systems like Typo3 can offer aswell.

perspectives are a nice to configure way to achieve different views of your site - in a way, that you are able to give every so much "logical areas" of your site a different look, a different structure, a different behaviour - independant of groups and features

I still have problems to run a minimum tikiwiki app. I have a dysfunctions on an OVH 5.3 installation, my local windows installation is OK with full utf-8 database support.
Text sent by OVH or displayed (received ?) by Firefox are by parts converted to latin1, so typical elements of the displayed with the "?", but more some conversions into of tag make the application not functionnal.
The same page with same database is perfectly displayed locally served by my Apache-Php
The .htaccess are quite identical (from tiki).
I have no explanation, no more any idea to search the problem.
nota : I have synchronized the databases and tested multi-conversions from-to sql. The tikiwiki are both copied form actual 5.3. Some curious things (different messages) on database validations during install and admin messages. The OVH installation still says that the database is not right while the local install is OK. Both install need to use upgrade and convert and after...
...considered as OK, but these upgrades and conversion (convert utf-8, don't changes anything on my database which has been manually converted for 5.0) There are, too, problems with login and rights with OVH installation.
