the rules in layout and design were mor or less gotten by noticing what many theme stylesheets tended to be doing.

well, I think when default values are set, it happens in the context of a design, but of course the properities aren't logical when someone has a different idea about what the design should be.
we can get rid of the questionable things, and let the theme stylesheets impose them instead.
But I'm happy to have fairly light theme stylesheets now, and hope to keep them like that.

i fixed some contrast issues by using "Custom CSS" option in greenblog theme... mainly the problem is, when there is background color specified in layout.css and no color for text specified and dark themes of course use mainly light colors for text by default... where better to put them for commit, to layout.css (actually it should go to design.css) or greenblog.css only ?
Probably where the background color is specified, the text color should be also, in layout.css or design.css.
The green blog might need its own because of being light on dark.
jonnyb and I were just talking about trying to improve the stylesheets some more for the next release.

they started out as one file. I think they were separated to give designers more flexibility about what to import/override or not.

I like that the categories assigned to my wiki pages are listed on the page, but I'd prefer they were listed at the bottom.  Anywhere other than the very top of the page, actually, where I think the title should take precedence.  There seem to be no options.  Do I have to modify the theme (using strasa) to change the location?
Regarding the display of incoming RSS feeds in a wiki page:  Has anyone suggested a feature that would allow an admin (or a user with the privilege) to delete individual feed *items* from a listing?
@hrsms: i believe most/all themes show the categorypath at the top. you have two options: 1. manually edit the TPL template file. 2. turn the auto-catpath off, and manually use the catpath plugin at the end of each page
