I wonder why, in tiki-pagehistory.tpl, the table td that contains the buttons for "view", "source". "compare", etc., has the class "button". Because it contains buttons? I don't see the logic there. Lots of Tiki's elements contain buttons but don't have/need that class. I'm faced with rolling back .button to span.button for reasons like that. :-/
I wonder if anyone minds if I change that td class to "button_container".
-: chibaguy now searching for "button" in tpl files.
chibaguy: I've got a hunch nobody styles that td using .button.

I will write one in dev first
jonnyb: yes, theme looks bad (on doc.t.o)
luciash: yesterday it was fine
(and up-to-date)
my localhost looks screwed up too now after svn up
i suspect gary has something uncommited for us if he didn't noticed this
jonnyb: hmmm - r 30271 looks dangerous (i thought we all agreed not to mess with 6.x like this before 6.0??)
luciash: it looks wrong, i just wonder gary doesn't see it on his local
assuming from his commit msg he apparently doesn't get this left aligned fixed width layout ?
jonnyb: indeed
i don't thin html should have a display set - do you? (it's not a visible element)
luciash: i think it will not work properly in all browsers at least
i don't remember but maybe i experimented with it in the past and decided to use the display: table on body for some reason
Steward: So InterTiki turned out to be a "bad idea"? Because it is better handled with CDN and load ba;lancing nowadays?
luciash: maybe only reason was to avoid introducing an extra div wrapper around inside the whole body
lphuberdeau: a lot can be done with perspectives and multi-domain, categories and permissions, which isn't necessarily simple to set-up, but much less of a pain to maintain
luciash: but definitely there must be one display: table to make that right side expanding of content and pushing the right column work properly
lphuberdeau: there are significant advantages to having a single installation to upgrade and back-up
intertiki served it's purpose well and still works, only it was introduced a long time ago and a lot has changed since
luciash: lphuberdeau: but isn't it slower to render then than using intertiki ?
lphuberdeau: slower?
luciash: lphuberdeau: performance
lphuberdeau: completely unrelated
luciash: lphuberdeau: checing all the perspective preferences
checking
lphuberdeau: that's like one call to array_merge
luciash: ok
lphuberdeau: and one query
luciash: that sounds good then
jonnyb: reply sent to that commit msg
lphuberdeau: trust me, there are slower bits in tiki
Steward: Multi-Tiki: "simulate multiple domains hosted on the same instance" Instance means installation/server? I have three servers and a varied community, seeking SSO...
lphuberdeau: that's why I'm asking for your use case, intertiki might also be what you need if they are really distinct communities (which is not really the case for *.tiki.org)
but yes, instances refers to installation
luciash: jonnyb: do we wait for gary or rollback ?
ricks99: anyone else getting concerned with all the regressions and recent issues?
luciash: jonnyb: actually i don't know what was the problem... it seemed ok to me (the header background)
jonnyb: and this commit definitely didn't fix it - rather the opposite
jonnyb: luciash: also have replied
luciash: ricks99: we're all concerned... otherwise we wouldn't wasting time on irc here ;)
jonnyb: yes, the header looked ok to me - i was getting the bg colour extending after the bg image stops on the right
luciash: yep
jonnyb: actually, it was another bg image, not just bg color
jonnyb: you could see the join (if your monitor is big enough)
luciash: i see the join and i wondered if anybody else cares ;)
jonnyb: but it certainly wasn't as broken as it is now
ricks99: meant more, we should re-examine our process, esp. in terms of what should/shouldn't be allowed to be added during after a freeze
luciash: i was thinking about should i fix it ? ;)
jonnyb: we all care - it's just a case of priorities, i think (stability more important than perfect pixels)
luciash: yep yep
jonnyb: please :)
luciash: heheh

nkoth: jonnyb: you got ((|Link1)) because it filled the "show this text" field
sometimes it puts it there, other times it puts it in the other field
jonnyb: hmmm
nkoth: Ayway, I think the easy soluiton to not creating invalid links is to do nothing if "Link to this page" is not filled
(if that's easy to do)
jonnyb: agreed
lphuberdeau: Steward: test out both options and see what works for you
jonnyb: ckeditor's selection plugin is really enigmatic - been battling with it for weeks!
lphuberdeau: Steward: I guess one of the decisive breaking points is whether you need different people to have full admin privileges
Steward: lphuberdeau: Admin closed/limited to a very few bodies. I was going to do this with cookies: username and id available site-wide, any particular module could go fetch more data as required. But since InterTiki was there it seemed to make sense...
Whichh favours InterTiki: more admins or fewer?
lphuberdeau: well, with multi-domain, admins are admins for everything - with intertiki, you can segregate more
but that's only for top-level admin, after that, you can use groups to give permissions anyway

About the languages files I am just now registered. I will look at the tool.
For my own I just had the idea to began to develop (it his not a large one) a language file manager which read the main file, appends the changes or adds occurrences from another file language. If we want to be able to manage the languages records updating (particularly concurrent upgrades to lead to just one consolidated file) I do believe that il18n.tiki.org will provide these functions.

luciash?

ah (grepped) - it's used in transitions

luciash: and point to it
like lib/raphael/...
robertplummer: I agree.
jonnyb: robertplummer: as far as i know, you can only add dirs as externals in svn
do you know how to test transitions?
luciash: lib/dracula/ stuff then could use that too and remove the raphael-min.js from there
jonnyb: if not i wouldn't touch them (please)
this should be done in trunk - after 6.0
robertplummer: I will just re-add the entire project for jquery.sheet 1.2.x.

Kimberlee: I would vote on... *on*
-: luciash too
nkoth: *on* is required
_Gergely: Hi All, nkoth: I was told that you could help me in preventing realName user pref. duplicates automatically. Is there an easy way to get the realName unique?
nkoth: _Gergely: not really, why would you want to do so?
chealer: thanks Kimberlee, luciash and nkoth
nkoth: and what would you do if different people have the same real name?
_Gergely: so that you do not have 5 users with realName admin
I wanted to use it as nick name, actually
since it is used overall in postings and so
nkoth: so you want to use it as a kind of 1st come 1st server type of name?
_Gergely: right, exactly
nkoth: well, the only way to prevent people from entering a name that's already been taken is to write something that checks if a name has been set and gives an error if it happens. I think there is only function set_user_preferences in tikilib that does setting of that
maybe if you write a mini-feature to do that check if the feature is enabled. It won't be very elegant if someone is trying again and again and get error message again and again saying it's all taken
_Gergely: could it be like the re-enter passwd field?
nkoth: to fix that part, you will need some UI enhancement to check this like the login field via ajax
it's a bit more work then
it's definitely feasible - one of those not difficult but not trivial either type of things
_Gergely: how does it work for the text(area) tracker field? one type of the tracker fields got recently a new flag stating if the field was unique
I could not find this code in the tracker plugin ..
nkoth: I didn't realize that new field flag, or tried it
***: PGTIPS_ has quit IRC (Quit: Page closed)
nkoth: maybe you can ask who wrote that part, maybe sylvie
What I've been working on is more about the disambiguation of real names, e.g. John Doe (johndoe) vs John Doe (johndoe2)

_Gergely: text area, distinct flag
***: PGTIPS has quit IRC (Quit: Page closed)
_Gergely: oh yeah, actually, it is interesting to me
***: PGTIPS_ has quit IRC (Client Quit)
nkoth: if there is a tracker field that does what you want
you can use the realname syncing feature that I wrote that syncs a specified tracker field in a user tracker to the real name
_Gergely: it is an nice and easy solution. If the user is notified that the previous name was in use, it sounds ok in my case
nkoth: and then you can simply hide the UI to edit the realname normally
that requires no coding...
it's a bit roundabout though
but if you already have a user tracker for other user info e.g. user profile then that makes sense
_Gergely: yes, I have user trackers and a user praf realName in there
nkoth: yeah, but the user pref RealName does not check for uniques
but if there is another field type that checks for uniques , you can use that field instead
and then use http://doc.tiki.org/tiki6#Synchronize_the_realName_user_preference_from_fields_in_the_tracker
_Gergely: wow. I think I understand the idea, but this is really the uniqueness. I got to check this. Does the numbering also work with no coding?
nkoth: what numbering?
_Gergely: .. the page is still loading ..
johndoe2
nkoth: well, it doesn't number right now. The disambiguation is mainly for the selection of users from the autocomplete selector (chich shows real names). It puts the login in brackets right now.
_Gergely: ok. just reading the page you sent: 1.38.14. says that there is a tracker field "distinct" validator
nkoth: sounds right I think I know how it works now (it's through the ajax validator)
so it should work
it can be applied t any field type then - but I am not sure if it will work properly on the user pref field
but 1.38.13 solves that problem anyway
_Gergely: is it only in 6.x?
nkoth: yes, everything on that page is "new in Tiki 6"
_Gergely: so not in 5.x then. I would like to look up the change list to integrate back locally to 5.3.
do you remember if you committed it to 6.x?
