ricks99: anyone around to help rick with another pretty tracker question?
i'm using the 'show real name' option...
i have a pretty tracker, where {$f_1} = the userid field
i want to create a link from the pretty tracker to the userinformation...
i tried tiki-user_information.php?view_user={$f_1} ....
but because i have the 'show real name option' enabled, tiki is inserting the user's realname instead of the username in the link, and it fails
i tried tiki-user_information.php?view_user={$f_1|username} but i just get WSOD
:-(

Kim__: Hey everyone, are there any known problems with the batch csv fileupload for the latest release of tikiwiki?
I'm trying to add 90 users, but nothing happens after the confirm page.
I've also noticed you can no longer change passwords for users as admin as the confirm dialogue does not react, I suppose this could be the same problem?
chealer: Kim__: did you hear about Tiki 6.0?
Kim__: We're still on 5.3, when was 6.0 released?
Problem is though it's running in corporate environment and we can't really upgrade to 6.0 without some preparation/
Is there any other way to add the users?
chealer: Kim__: November 9. you have a known issue in 5.3: http://tiki.org/ReleaseNotes5.3#Regressions
Kim__: chealer: I've used the work-around now to add the users. But the only way to remedy this is to move to 6.0?
chealer: Kim__: the bug is also fixed in the proposals/5.x branch and will be fixed in 5.4 if that is ever released
Kim__: chealer: Ok, I'll keep and eye out and see what's best for us. Thanks for the info and the link!

stix: Hi guys
Why does my tikiwiki insert an small image after every external link I insert?
It happens with the wysiwyg everytime I write www.example.com and save the page
white: what do you mean by small image? ther symbol for "external link"?
ricks99: probabaly because you have the 'open exteranal links in new window' option enabled with the specified graphic
stix: white, yes that might be it
ricks99, don't know that option. Where can I set it?
The problem is that tikiwiki tries to insert this image in newsletters also
ricks99: i think on admin: general, navigation tab. check docs or help to be sure
known issue with links in newsletters. see dev site/bug list for details
stix: oh okay
ricks99: possible workarounds include disabling the autolink option or explicity including [....] in your links
stix: another thing, do you know if it is possible to default to the wysiwyg when creating a newsletter? I have created a template with the wysiwyg, but then newsletter-module will open it with the default editor, resulting in the user seeing html code and getting very confused.
ricks99: not sure. i assume you have the 'use wysiwyg as default' option already enabled?
stix: yes
can I set some variable in the url maybe? Then I can create a link myself
ricks99: not sure. you might try posting to the support forums
stix: okay

no, i think it's too badly designed to work, and needs restarting
ricks99: worked previously. i did some checking, looks like itw as broken in 5, too
jonnyb: to use the page history (so you'd only be able to control the page content, not categories etc)
i wrecked a site in 4.something for me - never again
i/it
actually it was the users on a site i enabled it for - they got completely lost and mangled lots of pages :(
ricks99: highly useful (and unique) feature, though
jonnyb: indeed - the code's so messy too - it's all over the place
ricks99: messier then the rest? ;-)
lphuberdeau: yes
the rest of the code is pristine and organized in comparison
jonnyb: the trouble i've had in refactoring editpage for instance is that i can't change any of it because it's impossible to test because it's already broken
so it's spoiling important stuff like wysiwyg, translation etc etc making it so much harder to work on
gottago for a while - bbl
