TheOnlyMerlin: Morning.
I am guessing you are in a very different part of the world from me. :
:)
chealer: TheOnlyMerlin: just ask your question
TheOnlyMerlin: I got a new Tiki Wiki install, and whenever I try to login with any of the users, it just hangs until I get a "This webpage is not available." error.
I have no idea why it's doing this. The pages load fine otherwise.
chealer: TheOnlyMerlin: in which environment does Tiki run?
***: redflo has joined #tikiwiki

Yonixxx: Well, well… I have to install a tw6.1 on a Red Hat 5 server that will not be connected to internet. I have never done it that way and i have nerver worked on Red Hat. Is there something i should be aware of ?
TheOnlyMerlin: Which environment does tiki run? I have it on dreamhost. I think it is running apache (not 100%). What else would you like to know?
Yonixxx: It will be Apache
***: chealer has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection)
Yonixxx: Apache/Mysql
TheOnlyMerlin: Well, that sounds about right. At first I thought maybe it wasn;t correctly connecting to the database, and not outputting an error message (because I think I set it to keep error messages for admins.. or something like that...) But it seems to be able to access the MySQL database fine.
I created a new user through the website, and confirmed the new data by opening up MySQL Workbench and connecting, and confirming the new data.

img issue ... in articles (block/module) on of the page images is broken. correct path should be: {img src="tiki-download_file.php?fileId=4" thumb="y" imalign="left" title="ice"} but when i inspect the broken element chrome shows me: <img alt="" src="article_image.php?" width="50"> which is obviously wrong.
i've tried a few things to fix it, but only seem to be creating different problems and the image remains broken to the browser.
and works fine when viewing the article.
the other question i'm pondering.... about form handling. how would you include a form for users? In other cms I would write the file.htm, the doit.php and install it into cms module. what's the process with a tiki?
ricks99: @CodyG: the article inage (identifiie for the article "topic") is not stored in the file gallery. the article_image is correct. you can see this in practice on info.t.o
for forms, use trackers
jonnyb: well done ricks99 - was just about to say similar (hi CodyG :) )

yes, i'll be in Boston (and i've heard of beer)
ricks99: yeah, saw that affter the 3rd mailing :(
jonnyb: tee hee
ricks99: its in motion though, and off my coming soon list. so at least
@CodyG: check docs for trackers. lots of good info
CodyG: wow... I'm just checking out the video for trackers. what version is that? 6.1 looks a tad more complex. I'll check out docs for sure.
this actually looks like fun compare to my previous method of form building.
sheesh, that was a lot of options to create that first tracker, now to create some fields...

there is no outside connection for this server and i'm not in front of it.
