good job, jonnyb jonnyb: the worry is it looks like 90% of the job (so 90% of the work left to do) luciash: i wouldn't display the modules at all or on another slide-in view
kinda module tab collecting them all on a slide left or right
the column hide/show icons kinda don't work very well here jonnyb: gone now?
top-bar menu's borked again
in fact all menus need work - tomorrow... luciash: also Source | History | Slides | 1 comment is not necessarily needed to be displayed as one-liner (broke in half)
is it possible to make it separate views ?
like many iPhone apps have on the bottom the tabs and you can switch to them ?
it would mean position fixed on bottom and scrollable content above them
or maybe use icons on them instead of text strings... But the most important is to repeat the problem on another platform and in another whole context. There are many variables involved. The test is :
1- choose business.css
2- Set a text for "custom_center_column_header"
3- look at the new (fine) module admin and to the parameters of "custom_center_column_header" , there is a nobox=y
4- When you display the page firebug will show you that the class of the module is class="module box-<module name>" and the css show an inherit max-width of 180px. So your "custom_center_column_header" is displayed one one straight column.
5- let's go to the solution, as wtritten in module.tpl the class="module ...." come from the fact that module_params.class is empty. Let' change the parameters off the module to "nobox=y&class=<something with meaning>" I put for the moment a not defined "ccch" for test. then var_dump($module_param) from the beginning of execute_module till $smarty->clear_assign('module_params'); and...
...further in smarty_block.tikimodule.php set var_dump($module.params) more exactly to be economic :if ($name=='custom_center_column_header') {var_dump('smarty_block_tikimodule says after extract :');
var_dump($params);
xdebug_print_function_stack('smarty_block_tikimodule call' ); } //###trebly:test
And in module.tpl module_params.class which should be == to $params['class'] array of 'smarty_block_tikimodule.php is empty. You will somewhere that module.tpl don't get module_params.class if another variable is assigned before the clear it's OK
Sorry for the length it's complicated. The feature which allows a "custom_center_column_header" text still exist I imagine (I have not tested, just use the upgraded data of test site)
<jonnyb> my test site data jonnyb: also, did you see r 32600 - makes it so only modules embeded in the page (with the module plugin) get the width: 180 applied - should fix this particular one i think
the "feature" custom_center_column_header (actually a preference) has been removed and replaced by a user module Trebly: <jonnyb> It's what I had seen. Into the admin module the custom_center_column_header becomes a module. By update of db it appear with parameters only nobox=y and I defined it in center (I remenber now one week ago).
It's normal that if a class is not defined for the module it inherits as it was of the general max-with=180px for sided columns (let's see later if because it is in center it must have other class definition.
Nevertheless the actual solution during development is to set good params for any module.
I say that even you define params as nobox=y&class=cccb which is allowed I imagine the module.tpl get module_params.class empty which is used inside.
I make a test I think that I have found.
I come back in five minutes, I hope with it. jonnyb: Trebly: check this out: http://demo.tiki.org/trunk/ (it's a user module with a class set in the params and it works fine ***: robertplummer has quit IRC (Quit: Page closed)

Trebly: <jonnyb> Sorry, it seems that I made in my tracks a confusion between $params which as similar elements (common decorations, nobox, flip) of the class (in smarty_tikiblock.tikimodule.php) and $module_params into module.tpl.
The actual module.tpl sends always class="module ..." which inherit the max-width of class module 180px.
So I made a little change into module.tpl which affects the parameters user module syntax :
if a class is defined class=<myclass> the class set by module.tpl is "module_<myclass>" and if not defined we find class="module box-<module titlte>" this makes inherit the max-width of class module, which can't be accepted for any user module (particularly the a message in center top modules.
Following this way what do you think about the fact to allow the user to define any class for his module ?
To avoid that nobox=y&class=<myclass> don't make class=' <myclass ..." but limits the risks by class="Umodule_<myclass>" we could oblige by security that the name of the class should be with the pattern for example "Umodule_<myclass>" ? jonnyb: Trebly: i just made a change to module.tpl (and other module files) which might also fix this - r32669

It is the same server and I haven't upgraded the MySQL server version fabricius: hmm ok ricks99: morenisco: did you check the db encoding? fabricius: I just asked, because I have a versions problem in 6.1 morenisco: ricks99, it checks by default UTF-8 ricks99: did you verify that your db, all tables, and connection collation are all utf-8
and that the db/local.php file specifies utf-8, too?
see release notes for full details. this is a known item when ugprading, if u store your images in the db morenisco: ricks99, the new ~/db/local.php file says '$client_charset='utf8';',
I didn't verify details, as the original db was in utf-8 and the new is as well, ricks99: and you confirmed that 01that your db, all tables, and connection collation are all utf-8? morenisco: ricks99, nop, I haven't confirmed it luciash: fabricius: nice morenisco: ricks99, I'll try the upgrade again, converting the database and tables to UTF-8. My original version was 5.3, then I would not hit the charset issue, but I'll try anyway luciash: fabricius: i would keep fixedwidth
fabricius: full width is not very readable on large screens
morenisco: if nothing helps you an try move your images from db to filesystem using tiki morenisco: luciash, ok, I'll try that as B plan, thanks :) fabricius: luciash: thx
itś just a starter and will be my first real public webproject ***: ricks99 is now known as ricks99|away fabricius: luciash: we are discussing that all the time - full width or fixed with ... the office guy always wants full and me and my css hacker tend to fixed with
I have one, where I find the full width appropriate: codyg: i agree, full width with wide boxes full of text is very hard to read on a lot of newer monitors. fabricius: I made that last week: http://famnews.eu
if you wanna look at it luciash
just a test at the moment, but several people told me to continue as a project morenisco: damn, I reinstalled tikiwiki and in fact I had 'latin1', and I tried to convert it to utf-8, but it didn't work. I reinstalled again, trying a second time in the last part of the upgrade to force converting it to utf-8, but it didn't work ***: Yonixxx has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving.)
JoernOtt has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 246 seconds) ricks99|away: @morenisco: you can try converting the tables to utf-8 from myphpadmin instead of from tiki
(or just keep it as latin1, and change ur db/local.php to match ***: ricks99|away is now known as ricks99 morenisco: ricks99, ok, thx, I'll try ***: Siath has joined #tikiwiki Siath: Afternoon folks morenisco: ok, I converted the db to utf-8, I created an utf-8 db, imported the converted data, and same problem! lphuberdeau: when you convert the table, mysql converts the data too
the last step of the installer is meant to unmangle the data, which is quite a convoluted operation morenisco: lphuberdeau, I think that I'll just change to use the images into a directory lphuberdeau: images should not be affected as they are stored in blobs ricks99: i dont understand the "imported the converted data"?
when you converted the db to utf, the data should have been conreted as well
duh... i see lphuberdeau already said that. morenisco: ricks99, I converted the db from latin1 to utf-8. Then I created a db, I specified that it is utf-8. I imported the sql file containing the data that was converted to utf-8 CIA-83: tikiwiki: 03jonnybradley * r32678 10/trunk/ (2 files in 2 dirs): [FIX] mobile: Better handling of menus ricks99: why not simply use the converted db? morenisco: ricks99, I'm using the converted db, but the images are not being displayed
that's the issue ricks99: your db is now utf-8 and all tables are utf-8? Siath: I have a quick question, child of isn't creating child pages on my 6.1 version. Even Open page as structure isn't working, is there some switch somewhere I haven't turned on for this to work? ricks99: @morenisco: try downloading 1 image and opening it seperately
@Siath: the "child of" is known issue, fixed in 6.2 coming soon Siath: Ah rgr thanks
Open page as structure is part of that I take it. morenisco: ricks99, ok, the image filename is in the wiki, and I'm able to download it. When trying to see it, I got the error "Error interpreting JPEG image file (Improper call to JPEG library in state 200)" ricks99: not that im aware of. open page as structure works for me Siath: Hrm, Ok welp, even with open page as structure on normal pages don't have any of the structure heading. ONly pages actualy in the structure have the nav menu. Or am I mis understanding what it means. ricks99: yes, only pages in the strucutre will ahve the structure heading. that i as designed
if the page is not in a structure, it cannot open witrh the structure nav bar Siath: Ok thanks.
Well, just have to do things manually until next release. Thanks, I thought I was doing something wrong.
There wouldn't happen to be a patch or something for that would there? ricks99: @morenisco: still sounds like db encoding issues. there's a whole series of steps and fiexes in the relaease notes Siath: To hold people over until next release. ricks99: you can get a preliminary 6.2 from the svn repository (proposals) branch. Siath: Oh thanks. ***: Siath has quit IRC (Quit: Page closed)
GillesM has joined #tikiwiki morenisco: ricks99, thanks for all the help. I think I'll try to get new galleries working in the filesystem. And the users will have to upload the images again! lphuberdeau: hmmm... not able to drag new modules in trunk luciash: morenisco: you should be able to migrate them to the filesystem from the image gals admin panel
morenisco: so your users shouldn't be afected morenisco: luciash, yeah, I got an error saying that a file was missing, and it didn't work luciash: oh ricks99: before u do that, i suggest going through all the encoding fix steps, as specified in the release notes
there's a series of steps on how to fix and then verify the fix ***: Siath has joined #tikiwiki Siath: Please excuse me but can I get a link to that 6.2? I can't seem to find it. ricks99: http://dev.tiki.org/Daily+Build
theres a link to it, from the main tiki.org/download page lphuberdeau: 6.2 is not officially released yet Siath: Thanks again ricks99: pre-release only. ymmv Siath: Well, if it fixes the child of I'll be happy
Would that be future or proposed? ricks99: proposals Siath: Thanks again ***: Siath has quit IRC (Quit: Page closed) ricks99: no problem ***: radek82 has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 245 seconds) morenisco: I configured the file gallery to be in the filesystem. The default place for the file gallery is wiki/img/ . It has permissions 755 and owner www-data:www-data. The permissions has been setup by the setup.sh script,
when trying to upload a file to the file gallery, I have the following issue:
"Cannot write to this file:wiki/img/af5a8ca8c4ed6539f276c4a6fd3495ec"
apparently the fs permissions are not ok. Do it need to be 777 on the wiki/img/ directory? ricks99: the path is relative to your site install. you created a new directory "wiki" in the root of your Tiki installation?
there is no TIKI_HOME / wiki directory by default (afaik) lphuberdeau: default location would be files/ I believe ***: radek82 has joined #tikiwiki morenisco: ricks99, nop, I haven't, that is what appeared by default in the configuration ricks99: y, but ^^^ error msg says "wiki/img/..." morenisco: lphuberdeau, I'll try creating a file/ dir ricks99: if there's no such directory, thats why Tiki can't write to it lphuberdeau: that might be for image uploads as attachments, which may not be file galleries (I don't know the state of that ricks99: @morenisco: pls see docs http://doc.tiki.org/file+gallery+config and confirm that you're configuring the correct location morenisco: ricks99, ok, thx, I'll review the documentation
ricks99, ok, I'm able to upload images now, the path was wrong, thx
what I saw is that the images are being stored with a different name in the fs than the original name ricks99: yes. as designed morenisco: the name in the fs is 5ada2ebb2c4d6a528c4404f01942c167 for the image
ohh
ok ricks99: names are hased, for security lphuberdeau: I don't really think it's about security ricks99: o. any special reason then? lphuberdeau: collision avoidance ricks99: ah -: ricks99 wonders why they arent' hashed when using wiki images *not* in the file gallery (img/wiki_up)? lphuberdeau: if it's for security, it's just obscurity ricks99: didnt say it was "good" security... lphuberdeau: ticks99, btw, I just added the up-to-date-ness to the indexing, that should allow to list pages that need translation in tiki7 ricks99: sweet ***: ricks99 is now known as ricks99|away
