I think it just had a line of text and a trackerlist plugin. jonnyb: i think tiki.org has ajax off (i'm just about to try with it on) -: SiL3NC3 thinks, that there a many small bugs in 7.0, hopefully i'm wrong chibaguy: You know what they say about x.0 software releases.... :-) SiL3NC3: so i decited to use the latest svn

SiL3NC3: my update finished, but got errors during the update ***: rodrigo_sampaio has joined #tikiwiki SiL3NC3: crowds, should i switch back to 6.3 for a productive site? or are these issues normally fixed quickly?
i was asking about using the 7.x svn for a productive site and this was state okay ... but, if there such big problem (maybe for me) to get 6.3 features working with 7.x, it would probably better to switch back.
what are you saying?
/doing ...
also, update the topic "Tiki 7.0 is out" :) chibaguy: Probably it's best to stay with 6.3 for a live site. jonnyb: SiL3NC3: is this the nesting of plugins like group? it's probably that this will never be made like it was in 6.x in the future chibaguy: I think from the early days we thought 7.0 would be for adventurous users. SiL3NC3: jonnyb: so how will i get this behavior to work? is this so unlikely? chibaguy: Although it got pretty solid overall, especially the new things. SiL3NC3: chibaguy: i think i'm an advanced technical, but a tiki newbie chibaguy: SiL3NC3: , do you need nested Group plugins, or just a sequence of them? jonnyb: the way the parser works changed in 7 - some exploits of "odd" behaviour were removed SiL3NC3: so thats the point
you can just state: Group OR else chibaguy: can you do something like (group a plugin and content) (group b plugin and content) (group c plugin and content) ? SiL3NC3: not Group OR else GROUP OR else GROUP
the thing is, that you have to state a end {GROUP} (why not using {/GROUP} chibaguy: Does the plugin work in 7.0 as described by the docs? jonnyb: i don;t follow - can you put an example on pastebin pls? SiL3NC3: where it is not "allowed" (working) to add several groups within a next GROUP tag
chibaguy: yes ...
jonnyb: already at the forums: http://tiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=4&comments_parentId=41488
i just want to set something like that: (in php to understand what i mean)
if (group="super admins") echo this content
else if (group="admin") echo its content
else if (group="registered") echo its content
else ... echo anonymous content jonnyb: oh - and that worked in 6.x? SiL3NC3: JUPP!
quite good ! chibaguy: At least the closing {GROUP} tags are missing in your code. SiL3NC3: jp, but if i add them, the text will not be interpreted as plugin code
and what is happend if the Group Admins is inherit of group registered ... jonnyb: sounds like one for LPH i'm afraid chibaguy: I suppose the plugin wasn't designed to be nested, so if it worked in 6.3, that was probably luck. SiL3NC3: did this user see both contents?
this is not easy stuff, imho jonnyb: on that forum page the code examples aren't getting shown as code - i just see the source - same for you? SiL3NC3: also the security is a problem here (for registered feeds sending the complete source) chibaguy: SiL3NC3: If the goal is to display content to two groups, can't that be done without nesting the plugin? SiL3NC3: jonnyb: yes jonnyb: also wrong then :( SiL3NC3: jonnyb: /me was also wondering (updated to 7.x ???!) :p chibaguy: oh, three groups... jonnyb: yup - looks like it SiL3NC3: chibaguy: endless groups!
chibaguy: just for this example here, cannot write down all custom groups i set up
there are also organisators
i want to setup a structures organisation site (but community like)
and put in the needed information for the users registration status (register visitor, portal member (custom group), portal organisator (custom), portal group (custom group), portal group organisators (also custom).
with these groups i will handle the complete permissions and user statuses chibaguy: Being able to nest the plugin would be good, but maybe it needs to be coded again for Tiki 7. SiL3NC3: and with the starting page, i want to give information (on the further integration in the project/portal) upon the users group
chibaguy: look at the 6.3 solution, would be a point to start, but the security should also be looked at
but:
what about starting a new plug?
we can also set an option to the group for a different homepage ...
is this possible?
with tk?
t7?
how could this functionally be done with tiki7 in any way?
(if you have understood, what i want to do) chibaguy: well, only in a general way ;-). SiL3NC3: and this will be ...
linking and clicking?
no ...
this is confusing to the users, imho chibaguy: Hopefully, you can manage what you want to do with the group plugin, using tiki 6.3 if not tiki 7. SiL3NC3: this was working fine
only the groups content was shown ...
can i handle this with group pages?
what if, the group is inherit of another group? which is being used for permitting? chibaguy: I don't use group pages or plugin much. SiL3NC3: important for structured information handling ...
imho
hm ***: GillesM has joined #tikiwiki SiL3NC3: by the first step of the project it would be enough to use the functioning GROUP else ANONYMOUS, but in further, i need a solution for this .. hopefully someone agreed with me and build a piece of code (i will give any support i'm able to ...)
the idea behind that home pages are a selfguided portal entry point where to state informations for the users portal memberships (hope to be understandable with by broken english ...)
another security point: why is browsing to http://<any-tiki-site>/user1 possible to view? can this be deactivated? also if submissions are activated, browsing to tiki-list_submissions.php can be accessed and not deactivated via the tiki permissions (there are no rights for list_submissions or view user prefs (global))
for anonymous (worldwide)
can tiki be completely "closed" but one or two needed pages (like 'who we are' and 'contact') via object permissions? jonnyb: SiL3NC3: the userxx url is in htaccess so you could remove that
but where it leads to would still work SiL3NC3: are setting (within global permissions) planned for that?
settings jonnyb: what's displayed on those pages is controllable by perms (to an extent) SiL3NC3: also the submissions thingie jonnyb: i'm not aware of any plans for that area SiL3NC3: but perms are displaying ALL stuff ... if the users group is inherit (esp. to registered) jonnyb: i know Nelson did quite a bit for a site a while ago (for 6.x)
it probably will need working out for the user groups stuff SiL3NC3: would give any support i'm able to ... :)

All I really need is to display it. codyg: do attachments need to be enabled on a fresh install? marclaporte: You could export to HTML and put in a wiki page
xlsx is not a web format overseer_: hmmm, still not ideal, because users will need to download the file and edit it later marclaporte: Tiki is a web application overseer_: Are you familiar with confluence at all? marclaporte: Microsoft surely offers a web way to edit files
yes, a bit codyg: exactly, tiki sheets are not xlsx overseer_: im trying to do something like what they have on there. codyg: so sheet=>name isn't going to help if your pulling xls overseer_: You can attach a spreadsheet to a page, then use a macro to display it. But ultimately, it is still a spreadsheet attached to the page, which you can download if need be codyg: iss has all kinds of office macros overseer_: codyg: what's iss? codyg: windows server application overseer_: codyg: do you mean iis? codyg: i do man
mean overseer_: ah, gotcha codyg: not enough coffee overseer_: lol
know how that is codyg: confluence the cms? overseer_: yes
it's another wiki system codyg: woo hoo
big numbers on the pricing page overseer_: yeah....thats why im going with tikiwiki codyg: overseer: good plan lphuberdeau: 10$ for up to 10 users, than you are locked in codyg: nice looking site marclaporte: http://framework.zend.com/manual/1.11/en/zend.search.lucene.overview.html has something to read xlsx
how advanced the spreadsheet? lphuberdeau: reads the text only codyg: but how does it format the table? marclaporte: codyg & overseer_ What RobertPlummer and I need to know is what is missing to use Tiki Spreadsheet? codyg: a link ;)
maybe i disabled it... brb
i did. but when I enabled it again my spreadsheet data was still there. ;)
there are a couple of issues marclaporte: This would be nice too: http://dev.tiki.org/WebODF codyg: tiki-view looks like an edit form with rownumbers and no formatting.
i think i tried changing themes, but i'll try again. marclaporte: There could be improvements in the integration
This is outside of Tiki: http://www.visop-dev.com/lib/jquery/jquery.sheet/jquery.sheet.html codyg: different theme same behaviour
the proper table display is there for a few seconds and is then replaced by this ugly edit form ***: rodrigo_sampaio has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 276 seconds) marclaporte: ok, there is a param for that
You can feature requests and bug reports here: http://dev.tiki.org/Spreadsheet codyg: so it's suppose to look like that? ;(
oops marclaporte: I have to go
but there are options codyg: me too
but i'd rather stay and chat
but the day is moving on and so must i
have a good good one and tiki on! marclaporte: http://doc.tiki.org/PluginSheet
wait codyg: and thanks for the education
yes? marclaporte: simple=y will give you a different look codyg: ah... now i know! marclaporte: or you could do editable=n jonnyb: bbl ***: jonnyb has quit IRC (Quit: jonnyb) marclaporte: try all the options of that page :-) codyg: on the configure tab?
a class name? overseer_: Sorry I was away guys ***: rodrigo_sampaio has joined #tikiwiki codyg: i'm only here for a moment... did you solve your issue? overseer_: So for me, I'd like to have a "import excel spreadsheet" option, which could convert the .xls or .xlsx to a tikispreadshet
also, I need the ability to change the column widths on the fly (drag column headers) CIA-77: tikiwiki: 03lphuberdeau * r34916 10/trunk/lib/tikiaccesslib.php: [FIX] AJAX requests need to get errors as errors to work be handled correctly by jquery codyg: overseer: click the help button on the sheet page and find the words on import/export
supported formats are tikisheet, csv and excel overseer_: i tried that. It killed my browser
after spitting out a bunch of gobely gook codyg: i'm trying to import xlsx and something isn't so happy... aw... snap
darn
i'll try in ie lphuberdeau: import was written before MS changed formats, so the new one might not be supported yet marclaporte: copy-paste instead of import
codyg: in a wiki page, you can do {sheet id=6 simple=y} (or something similar)
gtg codyg: doesn't work in ie, but gives a tiki error ***: marclaporte has quit IRC (Quit: See you later! http://marclaporte.com) Tiki|bot: New Forum Posts: Page looks different in Firefox and IE - http://tiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=4&comments_parentId=41500 overseer_: hey guys, I'm working on setting up a tracker for user registration...does that work if users cant make their own accounts?
can anyone help me with authentication methods?
I'm guessing authentication could be based on an Active Directory, but I don't really know how that works ***: xen216 has joined #tikiwiki overseer_: nevermind, i found some docs on it ***: marclaporte has joined #tikiwiki

hi jonnyb jonnyb: hi chealer chealer: jonnyb: Does r34904 fix the empty previews? or does that fix why I apparently had to click twice to get a preview on dev :-? jonnyb: probably not - it fixes the bottom preview button with it's being shown both top and bottom like on t.o marclaporte: chealer : I would wait for 7.1 jonnyb: before it was just reloading the whole page chealer: jonnyb: OK. so did you not see the issue with blank AJAX previews yet? ***: amette has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 240 seconds) chealer: marclaporte: all right jonnyb: seen it a couple of times (and fixed them) - it depends on page content chealer: could a chanop update /topic ? marclaporte: will do jonnyb: send me (or dev list) examples when you find them
