chibaguy: Is it just me, or do other people find line returns getting removed when text is moved into a plugin (like BOX)?
I have some short sentences in wiki text that I want each on its own line. When I put a BOX plugin around them, all the breaks are wiped.
(branch 7)
jonnyb: hi chibaguy - at one point i put in some code to not add linebreaks after single lines being parsed, but i thought nkoth rolled it back
it was useful for using {include} to add inline text, and i thought if you want carriage returns you could put them in specifically, rather than them being added non-optionally
chibaguy: Do you mean page editors need to add a break tag at the end of every sentence where text stops?
nkoth: chibaguy, i think the exact problem you are talking about is restructed to the box plugin
chibaguy: oh, I see.
nkoth: or possibly other plugins as well ...
chibaguy: well, I had a related problem in DIV.
I had a series of centered lines. In normal wiki text each ends in <br />.
nkoth: div would perhaps have the same problem
I'm still trying to understand the cirrect fix
chibaguy: But in the div plugin, I get </div><p> </p><div> between each line.
When the stylesheet adds a bottom margin to <p>, that spreads these single lines out a lot.
nkoth: in the div plugin you get intervening paras?

codyg: i so struggled with permissions that i thought this was another permissions struggle
but it was just a typo struggle
I can see where building pages can get really complex, what with modules and plugins all sharing space on the same wiki page.
interesting, but very powerful. I love it.
chibaguy: nkoth, well, maybe not fixed after all.
Or at least part way. No paragraphs, but divs are block elements already so no need for the <br /> tag, which is creating extra white space.
nkoth: chibaguy: sorry, I am not clear what wikitext you have and or settings for the paragraphing you have - it does make a difference
chibaguy: i got your wikitext from pastebin
chibaguy: I'll check my paragraph settings.
jonnyb: chibaguy and all - i'm thinking off adding the (default) group name to the body class for all pages, so you can easily use CSS to hide stuff - think that's a good idea? or not...
by the way, did we ever work out what the benefit of having every single page be body.tiki ?
chibaguy: jonnyb, maybe Jyhem has an idea about that (body.tiki) as he was involved in the discussion. I don't know of any reason myself. I thought it got added by accident.
jonnyb: i think so too - probably should leave it in for 7.1 but kil it in trunk...
how about being able to target stuff by body.anonymous so you can hide stuff?
chibaguy: Sorry, jonnyb, can you give an example of how this would be useful?
nkoth: jonnyb: sorry I don't really get it, isn't body everything?
jonnyb: yes (well, apart from the <head>)
nkoth: so doesn't that mean I can't really selectively hide stuff - I can only hide pretty much everything?
jonnyb: i want to hide the list fgal button from anon, but don't want to add yet another trivial option, so doing body.anonymous .navbar {display:none} in custom css would be really handy
no, you use it as the container selector in the css definition
nkoth: right, you can target specific sub elements
chibaguy: nkoth, I currently have wiki paragraph formatting turned off.
nkoth: that would be useful
jonnyb: more or less anything in tiki
i think so - and pretty easy to add (i think)
