another issue with a tracker field: the instructions for the numeric field indicate decimal values can be used: "[decimals] sets the number of decimal places;
[dec_point] sets the separator for the decimal point (decimals must also be set). Use c for comma and s for space;"
But trying to input a decimal value doesn't work. "The number 2.2 is not allowed for this item. Only certain numbers are allowed for this field."
(I like that "only certain numbers" -- 12? 93? ;-) )
but anyway, how can the field be configured to allow decimal numbers?
or is this a bug? (Tiki 7)
Incidentally, the error message should maybe be something like "The number 2.2 isn't compatible with the configuration of this field."
If I set parameters as 1,8,,,2,c,s (same row, 8 characters, no prepend, no append, 2 decimal places, comma as decimal separator, space as thousands separator), then the submit is accepted without error message, but the data isn't saved (view item shows only the label for the field, not any data).
So I guess this is a buggy field.

But when you enter the page initially it doesn't trigger the jq stuff that hides the checkboxes (so these are shown)
lphuberdeau: make it get triggered on ready
when you set-up the change event, you trigger it as well... .change()
Merbster: I am total javascript/jquery noob lphuberdeau
***: Bernard has joined #tikiwiki

lphuberdeau, If I just change, .change to .ready. it will hide the fields on page load allright :P
lphuberdeau: yes, but then it won't change when you change
Merbster: haha exactly
lphuberdeau: $('...').change(function () { your code... }).change()
Merbster: lphuberdeau, First you define what change should do, and afterwards you call the change function on the returned object?
lphuberdeau: jquery selectors kind of always return themselves, so you can chain them up
Merbster: lphuberdeau, I am reading jquery tutorials now. It is needed. thank you for your pointers :)
lphuberdeau: jquery helps in many cases to get around some limitations in Tiki, so it's not time wasted
Merbster: lphuberdeau, I have been meaning to learn jquery for quite some time. Just never got around to it before now.
lphuberdeau, So, I define the change function on that element. and in the ready function I call the change function on that same element?
lphuberdeau: I don't think you need to worry about onready when using the JQ plugin because I think that's where it's going to happen anyway
Merbster: lphuberdeau, Ah. so I am allready in the .ready function then it makes more sense to just call .change on the defintion.

Bernard: The fallback is arial hebrew on MS. But it the fonts are nice and smooth in FF it tends to be a little more "stairy" on IE. I use fontface on hebrew only for title (where i can use big and bold) not anymore for small text. For "latin" it work very nice if you have a good cache too. :)

lphuberdeau: I wouldn't intentionally commit a broken test

lphuberdeau: so the solution is not to fix the test in this case
jonnyb: it's just that with five or six pages of errors it's hard to see what's going on - and that was number 1
so should "pagé" match with "pages" ?
lphuberdeau: yes
jonnyb: most of the rest of the failures i have are extra <br /> in expected strings - which sounds like a wiki_paragraph issue (again)
lphuberdeau: yeah, for those, you kind of need to modify the set-up of the tests to force that pref to the value the test expects
jonnyb: almost all of them are in rodrigo_sampaio's stuff (you about?)
shouldn that be in TikiTestCase?
lphuberdeau: not all tests use tikitestcase
and you might want to test different configs in different tests anyway

jonnyb: it's mainly just a bash shell...
rodrigo_sampaio: jonnyb: anyway what I suggest is if you want to start using the test suite start by writing tests for code you will write. I think this is the best way and you don't have to run all the suite. you can run just the tests you wrote.
jonnyb: if I have some time another day I can try to check what is happening using screen sharing.
jonnyb: yes, but if working tests are failing for me i'm not sure how it will help
thanks, yes please - nearly 4pm here and no real work done yet! ;)

Merbster: lphuberdeau, our target browser is IE 9
lphuberdeau: kind of annoyed that that issue was fixed for the global tiki objects but not managed at all for the other instances
Merbster: but I found out lphuberdeau
lphuberdeau: merbster, that's what you use for dev?
Merbster: well I have firefox installed too. But so far I have just used IE's JS debugging and setting breakpoints
and it seems my selector is wrong
because it certainly ain't iterating where I expected it to
jonnyb: latest http://pastebin.com/8Ryq5Ecz
Merbster: I have 15 textboxes and I want to hide all except the first, when text is entered in the first, nr. 2 should show. When I type text into nr. 2, 3 should show and so on.
jonnyb: Merbster: :not(:first) should do that
Merbster: jonnyb, I am using the JQ plugin with a tracker. it is tracker fields I am trying to hide.
jonnyb, if I paste my JQ stuff into pastebin.org wil you give it a look?
jonnyb: what's your selector so far?
Merbster: pastebin coming up
jonnyb: ok
Merbster: jonnyb, http://pastebin.com/hD0jNy83 <-
this is the wrong approach I think. Because I won't need any iteration. But you know how code evolves :P
anyways, the important part is the selector
I am trying to tartget the class and I verified that there's a class with that name on the page.
jonnyb: do you know css? jq selectors are a bit similar
Merbster: 2 secs jonnyb
jonnyb: so you can do $("#container input") to get them all at once
sorry, i see you're doing that at the top, just not in the hideAll fn
brb
Merbster: jonnyb, I have a ~ in between them
jonnyb: hmm, what a ~ i wonder
have you found http://api.jquery.com/browser yet?
ah right - siblings
Merbster: jonnyb, well the sibling stuff didn't do as I expected, but your method worked how I expected the other one to work :P
So now I know the collection of textboxes is correct.
Then I want to add a keyup event on each textbox that says to show the next textbox (in context to itself)
jonnyb: this works for me to hide the inputs: $(".wikiplugin_tracker input:not(:first)").hide()
Merbster: jonnyb, I can hide them ok. but I need it to dynamically figure out what textbox to show "next" depending on the textbox that currently has they keyup event.
jonnyb: you using 7.x i guess? it's a bit different in trunk now - shame, each rows should be in something
Merbster: jonnyb, I am using 7.1 currently.
It's not the show and hide that's the problem. it's getting the input text elements back out and calling show on them
jonnyb: you can use $(this).next() to get that - and $(this).next("input") for instance to get the next input
yes... in 7.x they're in a table, so you can do it by hiding the table rows (tr)
Merbster: jonnyb, I will test it out with the textboxes :P
lphuberdeau: trying to figure out an issue related to that smarty_security
I can't really believe how ugly the smarty code is
jonnyb: you can use $(this).parents("tr:first").next("tr").show()
lphuberdeau: i have a patch of where i gave in - i'll pastebin it
lphuberdeau: I have pretty much all fixed, except that now it won't find pagination_links
jonnyb: exactly where i gave in ;)
Merbster: jonnyb, in your example $(this) would be the reference to the current textbox in the iteration right?
jonnyb: Merbster: yes, in an even function "this" is what was caused the event (usually)
even/event

jonnyb: can you break on the this.next line and see what this is? i have a feeling that's changed (or i remembered it wrong)
Merbster: jonnyb, 2 secs.
jonnyb, should I use this or $(this) (DOM element or jQuery object)
jonnyb: you might need to use event.target from the arg
DOM
Merbster: jonnyb, it never hits the breakpoint I set where $(this) is used
I find that weird because the debugger shows that var textboxes has 10 textboxes (which is what should be there)
jonnyb: try breaking on the the keyup line to see if you're getting anything
Merbster: jonnyb, what property on the $(this) object should I look at?
jonnyb: $(this)[0] should be the DOM element
Merbster: jonnyb, I don't know how to access the contents of the array through IE's JS debugger. But I can see that the element of $(this) has the name of the first textbox
chealer: in trunk, a Registered user is not getting an indication that his comments will have to be approved

fabricius: AldenisZen: just delete the "lock" in /db and start the installer again as jonnyb said - most settings are prefilled now - it's a quick job - just change the ssl setting
