enough for today - this is a very tricky one RobertPlummer: joined #tikiwiki arildb: joined #tikiwiki gour: joined #tikiwiki -: gour is still waiting for some reply on users list...and in the meantime wonder if 9.2 --> 10.0 is significant upgrade fabricius: as newbe and in respect on your usecase you should stick to 9.2 LTS, which has all features you need
and you did write a very long detailed mail to the userlist with partially more dev specific questions ... what do you expect? Btw. Ianswere most of those questions already in IRC ... but understand that you want more different opinions gour: fabricius: i wrote practically the same question to typo3-use and it was appropriate...i thought dev is more about devoloping tiki

'article' in tiki is meant for general content pages, while wikis are for wikis, right? fabricius: yes, but your questions are more detailed, than for the average user ... I do not know if the guys see it appropriate and have time to read and answer the whole thing, as it shows your complete path to Tiki over several stations and you mention not to know, if you even want to try it ... we should do this desicion for you and take the responsibility for it ... it sounds like
I personally found your story interesting but did not answer as I already answere in the list gour_: joined #tikiwiki fabricius: => article is the general cms part, where you have kind of a timeline of articles with topics, types and sure categories - topic and type feature specific whilst category global
categories you use to structure, sort, filter and for userrights gour_: no, i haven't got it
what is then used for 'general' cms pages like 'list of services', contactus, about etc.? fabricius: => wikipages are not only the wiki, but aswellthe general frame / canvas for all content, when you want to display it in a different than the standart of the feature -> for ex display articles filtered by topics and types displayed in boxes / columns / fields ... you display them in modules and/or wikiplugins arrange on wikipages instead of displaying the timeline gour: thank you fabricius: your last question:
no
contact us form is a little extra feature gour: ok, contact is the form, what about semi-static page like aboutus? fabricius: about us is typically a wikipage, as most of the doc.tiki.org and dev.tiki.org pages gour: ok
what about blog holder, i did create blog, but it's not obvious (in comparison with other CMS-es i used/tried) how to get it under e.g. 'blog' page? fabricius: articles would be time relevant things like "tiki6.8 and 9.2 is released now" or "tiki got another award ..."
blog holder? do not understand what you mean gour: as far as my mailing list question, i certainly do not expect others to decide for me or take responsibility...first, it's not possible, second i just need some info about tiki and how it compares with typo3 feature/usage-wise
i used some profile in my installation which did create home/products/contactus/aboutus pages at the top level...moreover i did create a blog and now would like to have it at the toplevel menu as http://tld/blog?
tiki is certainly a bit different CMS in its own way
i'll re-install it, but this time using another profile fabricius: listen gour ... I have to go to the shared house breakfast ... bbl

polom all arildb: hi robertPlummer
Did you see my email about the jison parser crashing using htmlconvert? RobertPlummerMob: arildb: Yup, working on it now. arildb: :-) RobertPlummerMob: arildb: Found out 2 things already, line and plugin handling, how to tap into ckeditor to mod them. arildb: sounds good RobertPlummerMob: arildb: Little to do with the memory issue, but big help for overall integration.
arildb: For example, not that line breaks are basically solved, no more <p></p> tags everywhere. arildb: good news, but remember old data RobertPlummerMob: old data?
We will have to find a way of parsing the old data so as to look ok with the new.... arildb: wiki pages in html syntax will have the <p>..</p> sequences. Maybe some want them? RobertPlummerMob: arildb: We will make the feature a feature and not a feature that provides the fix.
knowing how line breaks work between parsers is of much more value. arildb: ok...I think I have a good test data set now...so we will see how it works out RobertPlummerMob: arildb: as soon as I get styles connected, wysiwyg will be working, but I chose the hardest things first, like plugins and line breaks.
arildb: Do pages that use <p></p> look much different than those that use <br />
? arildb: yes, there is more spacing with <p></p> compared to <br/> Tiki-KGB: tikiwiki 03jonnybradley r44011 10(63 files in 59 dirs)

The exception here is line breaks + wyisywg.
I forgot to substr($yytext, 1, -1).... arildb: I have lots of test cases ;-) RobertPlummerMob: If yytext is "<p>" for example, it would check for a valid html tag name called "p>"

tikiwiki [FIX] check for empty and return if no need to parse, remove ">" from end of tag arildb: testing... RobertPlummerMob: back to jison integration...
arildb: Perhaps we can treat the <p></p> tag like a block tag?
arildb: The line following <p> doesn't get a break, sort of like <h1-6> tags arildb: Not sure. if you create an explicit wiki page for before and after formats, it's visually possible to check the results.
or maybe not a wiki page. A manually crafted html page will likely be afaster solution ot setup the different cases RobertPlummerMob: arildb: One integration type at a time, I'll go nuts, and go broke. arildb: :) RobertPlummerMob: ok, it looks like <p> is treated like a block element.
Which is good.
arildb: I would love if you knew more specifics about the new parser, if you want to talk about it sometime, let me know.
arildb: You a coder? arildb: yes I code, but no time to get into the parser at the moment RobertPlummerMob: arildb: No I didn't mean know, but in the future. arildb: right now I don't see it, but nobody knows the future RobertPlummerMob: arildb: Shouldn't be too complex arildb: RobertPlummerMob: The WYSIWYG Sample Page now goes through RobertPlummerMob: arildb: Right, like I said, it fails, but I did a meld on it and it actually passes. arildb: However, I still get a similar (same?) error on another page RobertPlummerMob: arildb: It is just line breaks that are throwing it.
May I have the source? arildb: Here's the error
