Hi Everyone!
as a noob, I have somehow modified something on the tiki and the admin account no longer has access to the wiki, I keep getting a permission denied
I can login with the password however each page has the little "please log in, Permission denied" error
I was trying to work out ldap authentication for the wiki and I think it has somehow reset the permissions for all the accounts as no of them work arildb: alzoo: If you have access to the database, you can manually set the admin password alzoo: hi arildb, it's not the password that is the problem as it didn't change, I can login with the admin account, its the permissions that have dissapeared for the account arildb: alzoo: The admin user should be a part of the Admin group, which has all rights. Maybe you have moved the user out of this group? alzoo: if I login with the admin account and type in garbage for the password I get invalid password
hmm maybe, will check.
there is no anonymous access to the site as I have removed all the permissions arildb: then you need to login as an admin to change them...a bit of a catch-22
You can fix it by updating the database directly alzoo: will do, I will give anonymous access to the tiki_p_admin and go from there arildb: ok. Good luck alzoo: I just don't understand how this could have happened.....

I verified and the the user admin is in admin group
however the defaulmt group is not set
the thing that is stange is not no account (there are only 15) is able to access any of the wiki pages
another thing that is strange is that I just tried to create a new test user with what I thought was the admin account (anonymous permissions) and when I went to confirm the acount it said Error, You are not logged in. Go to Log in Page fabricius: alzoo *do not forget* to take away the tiki_p_admin from Anonymous asap alzoo: I won't... however if I take it away now I loose access to my site.
I can't seem to find what permission has chnanged that all users inc admin have lost access to the wiki

P.S the wiki is a private one, not public on the web.
the registered group has ticks against all permissions in the wiki section fabricius: hmmm is the user admin in the group Admins? alzoo: fabricius, yes fabricius: if there is a damage, there is an option to repair the group and the user in the tiki-install.php -> I suggest to unlock the installer, to run through and to try to repair the error with the installer alzoo: in quick-permissions, all the groups, (admins, anon & registered) have advanced as their radion button set, (which is grey out)

should I look in object permission list? fabricius: group Admins never needs any specific rights - interfering with spcific permissions and the group Admins seems risky for me
hmmm object permissions should be used carefully and only for very specific needs -> many objects and many different permissions for the individual objects mess things up alzoo: in that page, none of the groups admins, registered have ticks against the permissions... fabricius: most permissions should be setup with category permissions
general permissions only to a low extend alzoo: I haven't done catergory permssionn yet, just started.. fabricius: and object permissions very very carefully
category permissions in my mind is the core of permission management
especially in Tiki alzoo: non of object permissions are set, all blank, perhaps it is that which been lost fabricius: example: frequently I need invisible pages for admin notes or early state dev pages alzoo: I'll get to category permissions soon, I have started setting them up, I have just not yet applied any permissions, I don't want to rush anything for the moment

any object I want to have invisible straight away from creation, I simly need to add to this category
when I want a public page, I apply it instead to the category "public"
thus Anonymous have mostly no rights in general permissions
no object perms needed at this stage alzoo: ok, great, I'll apply that once I resolve my current problem as to why I have lost all my permissions

as I assume I am logged in as admin, I can not even create a child page. the page comes up and when I click save, the page cannot be viewed. the big difference is I have the anti-bot veridication code image (which has an X and can't be displayed) and the enter code field which normally I don't see
either the tiki authentication is no longer working or the permissions for the groups are no longer working....
or the link between the users and the groups is no longer working
I think when I changed the authentication from tiki & ldap authentication it must have somehow wiped the all the users/group permissions
each time I do an action in admin users it states I am not logged in, how can this be when I log in with the user name and password.....
