i'm trying to install 10.0 beta on my localhost running mariadb-5.5.x, but installer does not recognize it?
luciash: polom
gour: sorry, we do not support mariadb - is it fully mysql compatible ?
afaik
if it is fully compatible, it should be just matter of selecting the mysql one or adding it to the dropdown i guess ?
gour: mariadb is drop-in replacement for mysql
what about http://doc.tiki.org/Requirements#MySQL saying mariadb is supported?
let me take a look at installer
luciash: oh, do u have php-mysql or simmilar installed ?
i dunno about mariadb unfortunatelly
gour: yes, php-mysql is installed
oops
it was uninstalled when i replaced mysql with mariadb
it works now, although, iirc, mariadb has it own replacement for innodb, so maybe it would be nice to add some mariadb-specific logic to detect it's mariadb
luciash: cool

gour: anyone familiar with WP importer?
first it failed with 256MB mem. limit (it's smalle blog - 3 posts, 2 comments and few pics), now (after increasing limit to 512MB) with: Fatal error: Call to a member function fetchRow() on a non-object in /usr/share/nginx/www/tiki/installer/installlib.php on line 252
skipping images, it did finish :-)
marclaporte: :-)
gour: FYI: http://info.tiki.org/Top+10+Reasons
gour: marclaporte: i saw post on devel list and looked at it...it's very nice & clean now
do you all use straight svn for commit or someone uses some xyz-svn client like the ones for {bzr,hg,git}?
marclaporte: a few use Git-svn
gour: good...will git{gub} mirror be just mirror or functional to commit as well?
for our small company (providing counselling & homeopathy treatments), we need to put together a small 'shop'...tiki is capable to do it?
luciash: gour: with some efforts, see otaku.com
gour: we'd need just to list 'products' and after checkout to provide info how to pay via netbanking etc. later, we might add credit-card authorization using some custom payment module for form-based api
luciash: thanks. looks cute
luciash: gour: made by jonnyb
marclaporte: git will be just mirror
gour: luciash: there are some missing parts in tiki for such setup?
marclaporte: tax handling is missing
gour: that's good..our company is not in the 'tax' system :-)
...and considering that the new law increased the limit for 'tax-exemption', we can stay small :-)
..unless we decide to enter into tiki-consulting business and become rich :-D
luciash: :)
marclaporte: In which case, you can code the feature :-) :-)
gour: There is no Wiki consultant in Croatia: http://www.wikimatrix.org/consultants/Tiki+Wiki+CMS+Groupware/-
You could be the first :-)
gour: heh...my 1st profession is 'computer engineering' which i graduated long ago, but life went into another direction...however my company can offer computer-related services as well..who knows...if there would be emergency or for selected clients...not as full-time web agency :-)
but let me learn some tiki basics 1st...it runs under nginx on my localhost, but no seo-friendly urls yet
-: luciash graduated industry design ;)
gour: luciash: you're doing tiki services now?
luciash: yup :)
gour: cool ;)
luciash: webdesign related mostly
gour: considering tiki is not into MVC...does it mean any moderb
luciash: but consultation and setup/customization too
gour: *modern php book (i've bwginning php) + mysql is ok?
*beginning php 5.3
luciash: so, you're the one for 'theme revamp' project?
besides themes.tiki site, any other l
place to find some tiki themes
those typing errors are from my 7-month old daughter :-)
luciash: lol
yep, i am into themes. i am author of the *lite CSS "framework"
gour: ohh
i must say i like, in general, simplicity
luciash: Gary has site called zkakakina.com but mostly his theme ports are on themes.t.o too
i do not know any other tiki themes site
gour: “Make things as simple as possible, but not simpler.”
luciash: zukakakina.com
gour: i saw that
luciash: yup, i like KISS too
gour: do you plan for the future to adjust *lite, if required, or use something else?
luciash: it was/is on my todo list to have site providing tiki themes but did not get to it yet... too many things to do (do not have personal site currently even)
gour: heh
luciash: i did not have need to adjust it yet, but if there is demand...
gour: tiki's themes are in general, 3-column?
luciash: it can be 2-1-3
u just switch off column(s) and have 1 col site which u can customize
gour: so, no need for YAML, bootstrap etc :-)
luciash: for example i made for a client this theme : http://www.hejduk.cz
well, i do not see that need but some ppl request for it because they do not know how-to
gour: hwe
nice one
luciash: if my time schedule allowed it i would write some tutorials, but, you know... time flies by quickly ;)
gour: it's like typo3...so complex for the most simple things...so that some can ask high fees :-)
especially when you have kids :-)
luciash: yeah
gour: i'm so happy 'discovering' tiki which is simple & powerful
have to put my site together and blog about it
luciash: glad u like it
gour: tried contao shortly, but they're not into community..tiki's community it the best i've experienced so far
luciash: yeah, that is one of the reasons i stayed with Tiki so long
community support rocks

sup guys
so... im having an odd problem
i properly delete some wikipages that someone created (its SEO spam)
i removed them, but they still show up under "wikipages"
if i click delete, it gives me page not found
if i press edit it show me the content of the page (which i deleted now)
http://imgur.com/a/Fa90j
here are some pictures
how the hell do i completely delete these 2 pages?
arildb: deku: try to rename the problem pages first .... I am not sure how you managed to get html encoding in the name
deku: these pages are not created by me
spam bot created them
arildb: ok
deku: fukin hate that bot ^^
arildb: deku: If renaming doesn't work, delete directly in the database
deku: how can i rename the page if i cant access it?
clicking the link to the page give me "page not found"
how do i delete directly from the database? you mean like in phpmyadmin?
arildb: deleting directly in the database will work
yes phpadmin or similar
gour: marclaporte: http://fossilrepos.sourceforge.net/ ;)
arildb: the table is called tiki_pages
deku: when i click on the link: Don't Miss Out On These Article Marketing Tips Straight From The Experts all it shows me is: Page not found: "Don"
ok i deleted them directly from the database...worked perfectly... thanks for your help...
on a related note... what can be done to stop spam?
captcha is already activated... any other methods to stop SEO spam?
vmachine: left #tikiwiki
luciash: deku: block by IP
deku: i did that for a while, but they would just keep changing ips
seemed like a pointless cat and mouse game
i blocked like 30 different ips... just how many ips could these spammers be using?
GillesM: joined #tikiwiki
luciash: deku: u can block IP range like 232.123.*.* u know in Tiki banning but of course it is cat and mouse game, u r right
u use ReCaptcha, right ?
deku: yeah i activated a recaptcha months ago... didnt seem to stop the bots from signing up
ill check the ips and see if i can find a range i can block... i doubt it.... they probably dont exactly own the range their spamming from (at least thats what i assume)
luciash: yeah, thay usually use cracked machines of unaware ppl
to spread the spam
deku: thats what i thought... damn botnets... so is there any other human verfication"
i can activate for signup?
luciash: maybe with user tracker and some extra field where you would ask some special question
but i personally did not tried this
in trunk there should be PHPIDS to fight spam but dunno about it either
doc.tiki.org/PHPIDS and dev.tiki.org/PHPIDS
deku: "user tracker and some extra field" this sounds promising... could you elborate on how to do this? i cant find this anywhere
luciash: that is just a theory... i do not know if somebody tried to stop anonymous comments spam using a tracker or anything else
ricks99: joined #tikiwiki
luciash: what spammers u exactly have ?
comments spam or what kind of spam ?
deku: comments arent the problem
they create wiki articles with gibberish and links to marketing/SEO/sketchy stuff
ricks99: polom y'all
luciash: polom ricks99 !
deku: so u allow anonymous wiki edits, right
ricks99: hiya luciash
luciash: still looking for the .selected class :(
deku: no anonymous, only users...
luciash: deku: ah, so they need to register first
deku: yes
luciash: deku: and the registrations are done by bot
ricks99: aye :(
deku: here we go again... he created a new spam page... and because it has a special charcters in the link it behaves all weird: i cant click the link (page not found) but i can edit the page and see its content.... this is whats on the page: http://pastebin.com/DGyRdpcg
do i really have to go thorough phpmyadmin each time to delete these spam pages with "broken links"???
luciash: deku: u can go to tiki-removepage.php
and add ?page=Name of the page
bbl, lunch time here
deku: doesnt work :( Page cannot be found
well... php my admin it is
ricks99: deku: you can also delete pages from the tiki-list_pages.php
deku: doesnt work
http://imgur.com/a/Fa90j
when i click the little X to delete the page, i get "error: page cannot be found"
the only way i can delete these pages is directly from the DB
its kinda hard to explain... i think it has something to do with the " ' " in the link (all the pages that have been this way have that " ' ") but i cant access the page, i cant delete it. i can only edit it ( but once i press save it give me page not found again) or delete it from the database
ricks99: can use the 'no special characters in page names" options so that only alphanumeric characters are allowed
Jyhem_laptop: deku: can you rename it from tiki-list_pages.php ?
deku: ehmmm.... i did not see an option to rename from tiki-list_pages.php.... the only options i saw where : delete edit copy history and perms
the only option that worked was edit
but i would get an error when i saved (page not found)
the edit still saved though
arildb_: joined #tikiwiki
deku: ricks99: no special characters in page names is already activated
anyway... i went ahead and deleted the page in Phpmyadmin....still... if anyone has an idea what causes these pages to be existant but not accesible or deletable... id love to hear your ideas.... also fuck spammers
luciash: deku: to prevent this, you can limit the characters in page names on Admin > Wiki
ricks99: luciash: been looking at TPLs for the ".selected" issue... don't see any {if} statements that check for logged in vs. anonymous seetings so far :(
Tiki|bot: joined #tikiwiki
luciash: ricks99: is it possible tha class is injected using jQuery or other JS ?
i checked only in Firebug so far so I am unsure if it is really rendered in the page source or added by JS
ricks99: argh...
maybe
*sigh*

luciash: deku: u could also enable require passcode to register and show it up using custom JS to your users - bots usually cannot read JS generated content

seems like the best option if i can actually gt it to work
RobertPlummer: polom all
luciash: deku: u can try put this in a custom module: {if $mid eq "tiki-register.tpl"}{jq}document.write("YourPassCodeHere");{/jq}{/if} and then assign the module any zone you want
hi RobertPlummer !
ricks99: polom RobertPlummer
luciash: deku: sorry, u cannot use document.write in fact, that was bad JS example ;) hold on
deku: sooooo.... im not doing this correctly somehow....this is what i did: 1.) create new custom module 2.) paste {if $mid eq "tiki-register.tpl"}... 3.) assign to page_top... and now it shown on everypage... not just on the register page... where did i go wrong?
oh
ok lol
i just went on the register page... and i can definitly see a difference xD

luciash: depends where you want it to appear
yes
deku: ok... and then assign it to what?
i assigned it to page top before and it created this empty box on every page
luciash: assign to pagetop and put nobox=y as param
deku: ahhh ofcourse
silly me :)
thanks man
ill go try it out

hopefully

hopefully they do not use something which can read JS

lets see

you mean there are bots smart enough to read the passcode and use it??! thats some scary shit

About captcha it is important we choose a "multilinguale/cultural" captcha.
Some of the captcha are typically for en reader/speaker. Lot of people have troubles with them.

i will rename the one in tiki6 to be sure it'll be launched
jonnyb: sounds good
changi: ok commit

-: jonnyb is impressed by the depth of backporting
changi: i wonder if i should do it in tags :)
jonnyb: changi: i'll start a merge (branch update)
changi: trunk is on his way
jonnyb: not allowed in tags (as well you know) ;)
changi: jonnyb: was a joke :)
jonnyb: you merging?
changi: jonnyb: yep
-: jonnyb cancels
changi: jonnyb: another thing we should fix is : in installib we separate schema (for sql script) from script (for .php script) but we store them at the same place
jonnyb: i suppose you could just test for either kind of file and work it out that way
changi: jonnyb: and the code is strange, sometime it look in schema folder to check if there is php script and sometime in script forlder
i thing we should remove that folder 'script' and focus on schema
trunk is up2date
jonnyb: merci changi

jonnyb: how are we doing with the doc|dev*.tiki.org upgrade?
and when i say "we" i mean you obviously :)
changi: i can do it now, i was waiting for some order :)
jonnyb: Bsfez is hiding in Skype but we could wake him up
changi: let's do it
(switching doc and dev )
gour: i've heard few devs uses git-svn to work on tiki...considering that i never used svn (only a bit of CVS) and spent most of my time with dvcs (darcs, bzr, mtn,hg, mostly fossil now and some git), do you recommend git-svn which probably has the best client of those dvcs-svn ones?
changi: gour: are you going to commit things on sf.net ?
gour: or is it just to pull code ?
gour: changi: marc gave me commit access and i hope to take adavantage of it at one point
-: jonnyb is currently totally lost in git, so will ignore this one
changi: jonnyb: you shouldn't, it's very powerfull
-: gour recommends fossil as easy & powerful dvcs to jonnyb
changi: gour: for now, i only pull code with git-svn, never try to commit with it
gour: jonnyb: it is dvcs, but can work almost like centalized svn/dvcs tool
changi: i see...that's helpful to know
-: gour recommends tiki to move to fossil to make it easier for all users :-)
changi: gour: don't think that fossil is more known by users, (i didn't know it)
gour: svn is not so bad
gour: changi: it's written by author of sqlite and used for it as well
changi: i'm accustomed to use dvcs, have feature branches etc.
jonnyb: changi: fabricius1 seems to be still awake (yay!) so shall we do the upgrade thing? do you have a rollback strategy? (should be fine but... ;) )
changi: jonnyb: i always have a rollback stategy :)
gour: changi: this is interesting - http://fossil-scm.org/index.html/doc/trunk/www/fossil-v-git.wiki
jonnyb: :)
gour: changi: moreover, the whole repos is in one (sqlite3 db )file and the whole application is single executable written in C...with built-in wiki, distributed bug tracker and web ui
changi: gour: as i say i hadn't heard of it since you've mentioned it
gour: looks nice
gour: changi: well, now you know ;=
-: changi wonder why sf.net doesn't provide it :)
gour: changi: i tried and used many DVCS-es, but like & understand his argument: http://pastebin.com/Xx7GKMc9
-: changi switching doc :)
gour: changi: http://fossilrepos.sourceforge.net/
Tiki-KGB: tikiwiki 03jonnybradley r44090 10trunk/ 10templates/trackerinput/files.tpl 10lib/core/Tracker/Field/Files.php
tikiwiki [ENH] elfinder: Add new option to Files trackerfield to allow upload to one gallery and browser from another (not optional as tracker tpls are still using indexes for options so needs to be there even if the feature is off)
changi: gour: git is not so difficult
gour: changi: it would go nicely along with tiki's "simplicity & powerful"
changi: have you ever had need to dive into refslog?
changi: gour: no
-: gour considers that git's is dangerous, non-orthoganal design etc. and (too) complex...especially for not so techie users
gour: *non-orthogonal
...and it requires from me too much thinking about the tool itself, as richard put nicely
now, git is hype...
who knows what would happen if darcs and/or mtn were quicker when evaluated by linus
changi: gour: like you say "who knows" :)
gour: changi: let me say that i've decided for tiki over typo3...now you can understand i do honour simplicity & power ;)
-: jonnyb agrees fossil looks good, but can we really switch to a vcs i hadn't heard of 30 minutes ago?
changi: jonnyb: +1
gour: jonnyb: no need to rush...provide some kind of mirror, ask users to try it out etc.
jonnyb: do you know about mtn?
or darcs?
jonnyb: gour: of course, please go ahead, but the experiments with svn/git integration a few years ago didn't get very far due to lack of inertia
nope
gour: jonnyb: i was using darcs in 2003 and some years later practically it was used by the whole haskell community...moreover, monotone is also one of the earliest dvcs around...fossil simply took best from many of 'em like sqlite database in mtn etc.
jonnyb: moreover, you should be aware that author of sqlite3 is quite picky about security and sqlite has almost 100% test-coverage to catch regressions
sqlite3 db can survice power outages without getting corrupt...try that with git ,)
jonnyb: sorry gour, buffer overflow, trying to do too many things already :)
gour: the main point for me & fossil is that's very easy to use allowing to focus on the content and not (d)vcs tool
changi: jonnyb: doc.tiki.org is 10
gour: jonnyb: np ;)
jonnyb: i'll try to catch you some other day to ask about ecommerce in tiki..i got info you did a nice shop ;)
refizul: polom
changi: refizul: hi
refizul: future GNU/Linux distributions might have a file /etc/os-release which will be helpful to decide username of webserver in setup.sh
JFTR: http://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/os-release.html
changi: refizul: in which future ?
refizul: ubuntu has on since 12.10
jonnyb: rebuilding lucene index
jonnyb: always fun :)
especially on that one, i guess
refizul: changi: Debain Squeeze does not have it
changi: refizul: don't think so

refizul: about new standards: http://xkcd.com/927/
jonnyb: so true
changi: refizul: +10000
jonnyb: like tiki having one more pref to make it all simple
changi: refizul: i'm par of convergence project in my compagny
jonnyb: lol
jonnyb: lucene failed to build the index
jonnyb: damned
refizul: announcement related to systemd was: Mon, 13 Feb 2012
jonnyb: ik
changi: jonnyb: why don't we have a simple log which say : "oups i missed that page"
jonnyb: any specific error?
changi: jonnyb: nothing
jonnyb: just stopped
jonnyb: "make it optional" :)
try rebuild with log=y (or something)
changi: jonnyb: i did, it just log the last wikipage
rwik: hello all! I am trying to make it so when I go to print a page via the print button on top of the page it prints the page exactly as it looks in the wiki. I know you can set @media print and specify css for how it should look, but it does not seem to be working (at from the page generated by tiki-print).
jonnyb: just "rebuild log" should do it
rwik: Does anyone have any background in this area? any tips?
jonnyb: yes, so can you work out which page was next?
changi: AulaWiki is the last
jonnyb: sorry, no rwik, i don't print stuff ;)
-: changi save the planet, don't print :)
rwik: jonnyb: alright, thanks. I don't really either, but my office does.
jonnyb: changi: is it going in title order?
changi: maybe a clue in error.log?
changi: AuthPam is the next page
jonnyb: (or wherever cli php errors go)
RobertPlummer: changi: Just use energy created from burning coal, right?
jonnyb: does it render ok?
RobertPlummer: :)
jonnyb: hey RobertPlummer
changi: jonnyb: yes
RobertPlummer: lol, hi
jonnyb: try rebuild again?
changi: jonnyb: 3 time, doesn't change anything
jonnyb: ew
sounds a bit like a block?
there must be a php error somewhere...
marclaporte: joined #tikiwiki
gour: marclaporte: hiya, what do you think about this: http://pastebin.com/Xx7GKMc9
jonnyb: gour: does fossil have an svn import feature?
gour: jonnyb: yes, via git
jonnyb: sounds challenging :)
gour: today i clone tiki10 trunk and the whole repo is 481M here
git repo (via git-svn) is 132M
and tiki.fossil file is 29M which is good for the servers :-)
here is something else which might be interesting for you...according to ohloh, tiki is 1,016,594 lines of code
one similar project (tcl) is 1,211,570 lines of code (http://www.ohloh.net/p/tcltk) and here are two interesting links: http://www.patthoyts.tk/blog/tcl-and-tk-switch-to-dvcs.html & http://core.tcl.tk/tcl/timeline
enjoy ;)
-: jonnyb wonders how changi is getting on
gour: http://www.fossil-scm.org/fossil/wiki?name=Cookbook#SVN
changi: jonnyb: now i play with the 7 errors :) what is the common denominator with page AulaWiki / AuthPAM / Backups ?
jonnyb: if you find the answer you'll find the lucene problem
lphuberdeau: ping
gour: i didn't use script, just git-svn clone and then fast-import from git...
jonnyb: i was going to suggest a naughtily plugin, but Backups?
maybe trying access a removed backups dir?
changi: jonnyb: i think it's Alias the problem
jonnyb: ah, sounds poss
changi: they all are Alias from a page
if i remove them from indexer it works
jonnyb: but we have a lot of them
wonder why lph is not there when we need him :)
gour: jonnyb: it went very quickly - see http://pastebin.com/C4WxszJ5
jonnyb: so it's 3 pages fail? or 3 aliaises?
changi: he should appear like a genius
:)
jonnyb: in fact all wiki page which are Aliases from page failed
so 3 aliases :)
jonnyb: not sure how to help
changi: marclaporte: ping
it's like Quebec is unreachable for now :)
jonnyb: seems so
changi: jonnyb: is it possible to catch if the page is a alias to skip it
jonnyb: not sure how they're handled in indexing
investigating...
RobertPlummer: jonnyb: Sorry I'm in and out all day
