nilsge: the question is: internal or external. Can I get tikiwki to act or do I have to cronjob the sql database etc.
fabricius: nilsge, what you want to do? ... I mean "acting on trackerfields seems to include a quite wide field of opportunities, or do I missunderstand s.th.?
   nilsge: to be very specific:
<br> <u>fabricius</u>: I have the checkbox added on user registration and I want to send a mail after registration is successful, if that checkbox was checked
   fabricius: aha
   <br> registration tracker
nilsge: needless to say: a special mail, not something tikiwiki does by default
   fabricius: aha
   <br> there is something
   nilsge: <u>fabricius</u>: yes?
   fabricius: looking for
   <br> <u>nilsge</u>: maybe part one: https://doc.tiki.org/Email+Tracker+Field&amp;structure=Documentation+TOC
   nilsge: <u>fabricius</u>: thanks, I'll have a look

<br> Is there anyone here willing to help me understand this permissions issue? --&gt; Global permission for tiki_p_create_file_galleries is turned off for "Registered" group. After enabling same for group "X" at object level for a 'sub folder', members of group "X" see the "Create a file Gallery" button. But when clicked, there is a "permission denied' message.
refizul: besides the Tiki details for permission - did you clear the cache?

   fabricius: somebody here?
   ricks99: i'm here
   fabricius: ah nice
   <br> Hi ricks99
<br> a few things, but first the problem: I just launched a website and in tiki-articles.php the pagination is gone
<br> so i can only view a certain specific maximum number of articles in one huge browser scroll down thing, but no pagination to find all articles
   <br> any idea?
<br> I even do not know, if I wrecked the css or I am missing a configuration - did not find in admin area
ricks99: if you simply want to list all, you should use tiki-list_articles.php. the "view_articles" displays the article heading &amp; content
<br> the # of articles displayed on tiki-view_articles is controlled on the Admin: Articles &gt; General Settings
   fabricius: <u>ricks99</u>: I have this
<br> -&gt; I want to show the articles to the visitors (Anonymous) so not list_articles
<br> -&gt; I found the Articles &gt; General Settings and increased the number to 100 for a short workaround
   <br> -&gt; I need the pagination ... # = 10 or 20 or so and then pagination with arrows
<br> In info.tiki.org we have that =&gt; http://info.tiki.org/tiki-view_articles.php scroll down on the very bottom and see tha pagination
<br> on my site this pagination simply disappeared
<br> I have no idea how ... Just thinking, if I maybe wrecked s.th., but if yes, then what and if not, then where is the preference?
ricks99: the pagination setting is on admin: articles
<br> do you have a url? i'm a bit confused
<br> by default, tiki-view_articles.php will show pagination, based on the # of articles specified
<br> look for the "Maximum number ofarticles on home page" field
<br> showing 10 articles. are there more that *have not expired* ?
<br> make sure, if they've expired, that you have the article type configured to display after expiration date (if that is what you want)
fabricius: yes there are more ricks99 - I just did reduce the # to 10
<br> there are definitely much more than 10 articles visible, if i increase the # to 100 (for example) ... so I assume there should be a pagination now
ricks99: what tiki version is this?
<br> i still see (as anonymous) only 10 articles
fabricius: <u>ricks99</u>: that is the problem ... you should see 10 articles and a pagination below
   <br> it is a Tiki 9.x
ricks99: anonyous has permission to view articles (even passed expiration)?
fabricius: I try another theme for a second
<br> <u>ricks99</u>: have the same problem as admin
ricks99: looks like an issue, maybe with the TPL. notice that adding ?offset=20 to the URL works, as expected
<br> can you turn on error reporting and see if there are some issues?
<br> looks like an issue on demo.t.o, too
fabricius: <u>ricks99</u>: opened error reporting for non-admins
ricks99: just checking, do you have the "paginate articles" option enabled?
fabricius: yes ricks99 I have this enabled
   manub: joined #tikiwiki
fabricius: but good point to check this - often issues are not seen due to too wide open eyes or too intense research .. no it is activated (tick-box ticked) thx.
ricks99: looks like a regression... i am able to duplicate your issue on demo.tiki.org site with 9x
   fabricius: ouch
   <br> info.tiki.org is on 6.x
   <br> there it is working
   ricks99: y
   fabricius: hmm
<br> looks like I have to write an error report
<br> what do you think how important this is between 1 and 9 ?
ricks99: quick hack: edit the view_articles.tpl file and remove the {IF} check at the end
   <br> actually... one sec...
<br> looks like a missing pref: usePagination....
   <br> 1 more sec...
fabricius: ah checkbox there, but preference not in code / not connected to the tickbox
   ricks99: looks that way
<br> quick fix, can you edit the tiki_preferences table?
fabricius: can you fix such thing?
   ricks99: add usePagination = yes
   fabricius: hmm ah
<br> where I find the table?
   ricks99: in your database
   <br> tiki_preferences table
   fabricius: ah
   <br> but I have the tick-box on
<br> so a bug or some prob in my specific mysql
   <br> mysql?
ricks99: yes. but i *think* the name in the TPL is wrong
fabricius: heading off to check the database table
ricks99: or, if you dont want to change db, can change in tiki-view_articles.php file
   <br> check for $article_paginate instead of $usePagination
fabricius: I &lt;m logged in the db now .. but would like to find the bug to be able to commit, if you think we get that far
ricks99: i *think* the bug can be fixed by changing line 183 in tiki-view_articles.tpl
-: ricks99 having SVN issues right now... :(
   fabricius: {if !empty($listpages) &amp;&amp; (isset($usePagination) and $usePagination ne 'n')}
   <br> {pagination_links cant=$cant step=$maxArticles offset=$offset}{if isset($urlnext)}{$urlnext}{/if}{/pagination_links}
<br> what you think to be changed?
<br> <u>btw</u>: I added usePagination in the db and the issue still there
   <br> still no pagination
   ricks99: change $usePagination to $article_paginate
<br> be sure to clear tiki cache before rechecking
fabricius: in the db there is article_paginate=y and usePagination=y
   <br> ah Ok i do
   <br> no effect
   <br> what does " if !empty($listpages) " mean?
   ricks99: checks for additional offsets
   <br> i'm afraid i'm out of ideas.
<br> suggest you post to mailing list.
   fabricius: I have to
ricks99: be sure to note that it can be duplciated on demo.
   fabricius: and to dev bugreports
   <br> ok
   <br> I do
ricks99: sorry i couldnt help more
fabricius: you did help me indeed
<br> you helped me to check, if this seems to be a bug and how to proceed
   <br> thank you
<br> do you still have somne time? would like to discuss s.th. more general - not a problem
   <br> tiki - design
ricks99: sure.... give me 10 minutes?
fabricius: hmm I have to go to the city for about half an hour or so ... what you think about meeting here afterwords?
   ricks99: sure
