Unless I misunderstand their purpose, the changes I make on the "gallery listings" and "admin gallery listings" tabs in the "Select which items to display when listing galleries" section are not having any effect. For instance, I checked the box to show the file ID and unchecked the box to show the last-modified date, but I do not see the ID and I still see the last-modified date. I tried clearing the cache. I'm running 9.2. how are you luciash ? luciash: hey fabricius
fine, you too i hope fabricius: yeah ... doing the best out of the worse
actually I am working on responsifying Tiki ... and I am checking out different software like etherpadlike stuff, personal cloud stuff, collaborative coding stuff tc. ... testing different apps which are installable on shared hosting goj_killedByISP: joined #tikiwiki fabricius: one cool thing I did try today is a collaborative code edito, which I added on top of a running svn based Tiki installation

imagine: a group of coders doing teamcoding at the same time and date ... via any network ... and can test the app instantly, svn up and down straight away and commit the code out of the editor via git

I don't know about other platforms, but it isn't easy to get a smoothly functioning Tiki trunk or branch 11 dev setup with Windows. chibaguy: Or are problems like the error I posted even due to my dev setup, or are they problems with the externals. OK, I need some help
I was making some changes to the GIT repository I store my code base in. I screwed up a command or two and got confused.
So, naturally, I reverted back to my last stable revision
First issue: Now my live code is exhibiting the same error as the testing server with wonky EOL's ruining the unserialization
So, I fixed that like I did on testing
Site came online. Sweet
I went to edit a page though and even though the page edited fine, it gave me an error:
Search index could not be updated. The site is misconfigured. Contact an administrator. File 'temp/unified-index/segments_ls' is not readable.
I checked my codebase and sure enough, the file was not there.
I realize that tikiwiki generates files like that one during use and my reverting the repo wiped that file out inadvertantly.
a) this is going to change how I approach keeping a repo for this bastard
(suggestions welcomed)
b) Now I have errors whenever I change something. If I'd done a real 'revert' I would have file history, but I didn't. I did a reset --hard HEAD so I cannot undo it.
B) What do I do about the missing file(s)? fabricius: when you change things, please mind that some people are running Tikis right from SVN and so some specific files should not be existing in the core, cause they will be customised by default and would be deleted whenever svn-up
B) hummm maybe use the one from the dev site ... once it is not a customised config file PenguinMan98: true, I did copy things there. I'll try to copy back but since it is a temp/ file, I'm nervous about it
The temp install doesn't have the file it's looking for
Is Tiki smart enough to regenerate the search index if the file goes missing?
And as far as which files to exclude from the svn, I was excluding: /db/local.php , /temp , and /templates_c
so, now with every save, I get the error that the file is missing
Ok, I gave it an empty file with the name it was looking for. It doesn't seem to mind the file was empty and after saving one page, filled it up with stuff
Seems to have worked fabricius: oh
temp
afaik all in temp can be deleted
same as caches
I delete stuff there frequently without issues PenguinMan98: my git is so screwed up I think I'm going to wipe it and start over fabricius: Tiki normally is running via SVN on Linux ... might there be some differences when using Git and Windows?
I do not think so ... but maybe? PenguinMan98: pfft. Hell if I know
Git > SVN
I used git rm -r public/temp etc to fix it all
So far as I can tell, all is as it should be again
are there any other directories I should exclude from my repo?
besides public/temp and public/templates_c? Tiki|bot: joined #tikiwiki fabricius: hmmm with public you mean the tikiroot?
and I see no reaso to exclude caches or temp
reason
I do not know how git does, but with svn it is that all non repo files will not be changed or deleted
so for ex, if you rename _htaccess into .htaccess at 'svn up' the server loads a new _htaccess, but .htaccess remains untouched
same with 'lang/custom.php' or any customly added file
only default files which have been customised will be renewed
that means: copy the theme/stylesheet and rename, before you customise
or copy a .tpl into templates/styles/mytheme and customise there, but not the original one
etc.
I assume with git that should be pretty much the same? -: zaki is away: هذه رسالة تلقائية: أنا آسف جدا، اليوم طلعت من البيت وسأرجع في المساء. fabricius: bye Taki c u tonight ... why you are sad?

Yes, Git works much the same. It's all in how you set it up.
My problem was that I added the /temp and /templates_c folders in the repo at the beginning and changed my mind later.
Getting files out of the repo is a lot more crazy than getting them in
