I'm using tiki 10.1 (and I'm a n00b) and finding that the order of the entries in tiki_syslog.php does not seem like the actual order of events. Is this a known issue witha known solution? [06:04] tikiwood My reason for this is that I am putting debugging lines in the LDAP group membership code and writing them out to the logs to troubleshoot a connection. [06:22] tikiwood OK. Perhaps another approach. I'm looking for where the logs are actually stored that are served up by tiki-syslog.php, so I can view them directly. In the db, the tiki_logs table is empty and I'm at a loss for where else to look. Any tips? [06:27] chibaguy joined #tikiwiki [06:34] tikiwood The LDAP issue that I am troubleshooting is that it is reporting Invalid DN syntax on what I believe is the attempt to synchronize groups, yet users seem to be able to authenticate with the same LDAP settings. Since I believe the log entries are out of order, it makes troubleshooting pretty tricky [06:41] luciash tikiwood: sorry i can't help with LDAP. zero knowledge about it here... :( [06:43] tikiwood no worries. Thanks for chiming in [06:43] tikiwood any tips on finding the logs in their raw state? [06:45] luciash tikiwood: try tiki_actionlog table [06:46] tikiwood awesome... which would explain whey tiki_log was empty [06:46] tikiwood thanks, luciash [06:47] luciash tikiwood: yes... unsure about tiki_logs but maybe it is using some obsolete feature [06:47] luciash tikiwood: empty here too in tiki 9 [06:47] tikiwood This is my first expedition in to tiki and it's not going well. Every tip helps. [07:10] tikiwood Well, I got it sorted. It seems that, although the LDAP user authentication works by binding with the LDAP server either anonymously, or using a simple username to bind, the Group authentication needs a full distinguished name to bind, in the form of "cn=ldapadmin,dc=domain,dc=org" [07:11] tikiwood And, for reference, in case anyone else is ever troubleshooting, the order of events in tiki-syslog.php is not correct. However "select * from tiki_actionlog;" gives'em to you as they happened. Tahnks for that again, luciash [07:18] MellowCat joined #tikiwiki [07:19] MellowCat hey I'm need help with my db/local.php file [07:20] MellowCat can someone help me? [07:25] tikiwood I'm willing to be I'll be of no help, as I'm new to this, but ask away [07:26] MellowCat I can not get tikiwiki to conect to the database [07:28] tikiwood are you able to connect form a command line using the mysql client from the same host that tikiwiki is running on with "mysql -h $host_tiki -u $user_tiki $dbs_tiki -p" [07:29] tikiwood substituting the valuse you have for each of the $variables [07:29] tikiwood and then entering your password when prompted? [07:30] MellowCat I don't really know how to do that [07:31] tikiwood DO you have tiki installed on a Linux box? [07:31] MellowCat yes [07:32] tikiwood If you do, run what I had in quotes, but replace each of the $host_tiki, $user_tiki , and $dbs_tiki with whatever values you have in your db/local.php [07:32] tikiwood then drop in the password you used and se eif it connects [07:32] tikiwood it's just a test to see if you can connect at all from that server, independant of tiki [07:34] MellowCat don't I have to shell to the server for that??? [07:34] tikiwood Yes you would. Sorry. That was an assumption on my part. [07:35] tikiwood well, a shell on the server that youhave tiki installed on anyway [07:36] MellowCat yea I'm using go daddy right now and I had to install it myself [07:36] tikiwood Sorry.
