I wonder why, at my localhost trunk, on all admin pages I'm only getting part of the html, only the "page data" - no html head and no side columns, footer, etc.
So of course there's no CSS or JS, since there's no html head.
It's a stock trunk checkout except the .htaccess is modified: "AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/html text/plain text/xml text/css application/x-javascript application/javascript" is commented out; otherwise my site gets a fatal error.

lphuberdeau: not quite, although it's related
xavi: yep
lphuberdeau: but that's somehow part of the "fix notifications" project that will wait after 12
xavi: "fix notifications" project :-)
awesome work you are doing lphuberdeau fixing tiki one step at a time, with a good roadmap to let you finish things in reasonable time frames, etc.
lphuberdeau: long term backing of those projects help the planning too
xavi: ok, back to have a look at etherpad lite, and a potential new plugin for Tiki...
do you have any project in your mind realted to WebRTC?
related
lphuberdeau: looked into WebRTC, still moving a bit too much for me
xavi: I mean if any client already requested you code anything for some future but known version of Tiki
ok
lphuberdeau: one of those "wait a few months and try again"
Tiki|bot: Recent Bug: - Command line re-indexing of search: should give you stats like web interface - http://dev.tiki.org/item4627
xavi: I used for production a simple iframe to a (ether)pad window for production weeks ago
and that was useful enough for production for our project where we needed something like etherpad
I know it's not integrated at all with Tiki, but for end users it served a purpose, so I'm considering to create some plugin to create pad iframes on th wki page (using some publicly available pad servers, or fetching your own pad installation as a Tiki mod)
lphuberdeau: there is really a lot that is going to happen in that space
preview: https://towtruck.mozillalabs.com/
xavi: wohooo, interesting, thanks!
"TowTruck requires specific support for editors. There is active support for CodeMirror (used for example by Thimble),..."
Tiki|bot: joined #tikiwiki
lphuberdeau: it shouldn't be too hard to integrate with Tiki, it's just including a javascript file
Tiki-KGB: 03lphuberdeau r47022 10trunk/ 10lib/prefs/activity.php 10lib/activity/activitylib.php 10lib/setup/events.php 10templates/admin/include_community.tpl * [ENH] Add checkboxes to record basic events, making it easier to get started
lphuberdeau: however I think we need some tighter integration on the long run, and not sure what will happen with that specific mozilla labs project
xavi: yes, I agree
lphuberdeau: but I'm sure more good things like that will come one, this is just showing the way with a tech preview
but I mean, for your use case, it might be easier than etherpad
xavi: yep
thks

xavi: lphuberdeau: towtruck doesn't allow co-editon of the same wiki page, unluckily. Or not right now (concurrent edition lock in Tiki might prevent it)
thanks anyway, seems promising, and I'll revisit in the future
lphuberdeau: probably just the lock, yes
might work on tracker items
xavi: yep, and on wysiwyg plugin things (no lock there, afaik, etc)
lphuberdeau: I think co-edition needs to become part of the locking process
xavi: yes
lphuberdeau: blocking people is not the right way
just need to wait a little for all of this to become a bit more mature (and documented)<
xavi: yep

skulltrail: hello guys
Anybody know how to make a button change the value of varible?
xavi: no idea skulltrail, but maybe somehow with some JQ magic? https://doc.tiki.org/PluginJQ
ricks99: a Tiki variable?
what are you trying to do?
skulltrail: well, i created a variable (assign on php file), and, i verify the value on tpl file. I want change in runtime the varaible value.
ricks99: think you'll need to make a button that submits to a php file that changes the value
iirc, can't have php coding directly in a tiki wiki page
or, could do with a custom plugin
xavi: ok, time to leave. c u

-: PenguinMan98 waves to all
ricks99 waves back.
PenguinMan98: Hey Ricks, I had this idea the other day called the 'personal' category
This category name is reserved by the tiki and enabled in the options system
When a page is set with the 'personal' category, then the permissions that are defined for that category are applied to the page if and only if it is being viewed by the person who created it.
This would allow my players to create customized homes in the wiki without fear of griefing by other players
what do you think?
ricks99: i try to avoid "reserved" names...although "personal" has meaning in English, not so much for i18n. You can sorta do this with the "create group per user" option, then simply assign the page to the group/user
there's already a home-per-group option, too
PenguinMan98: oh? How does that work?
ricks99: on the admin login page, there's a 'create group per user' option that will create a group for each new user (named identically to the user)
this creates a 1:1 between each user and his own group
PenguinMan98: wouldn't you have to set the permissions for each group individually?
ricks99: y. each user could set their own group perms, as desired
PenguinMan98: ...?
ricks99: so, i could make the "ricks99" group public or private or anything inbetween
maybe i want people to add comments and edit my group pages. maybe not
PenguinMan98: But I as admin have to allow you permission to change permissions for that group
ricks99: correct. or anyone with the admin group / perms rights
think there's also a way to do tis with namespaces, but have no exp
PenguinMan98: I'd look it up on doc tiki, but I've kinda lost faith finding useful information there
ricks99: might find stuff on dev.t.o
PenguinMan98: what's that?
ricks99: dev.tiki.org
the main dev site
many new featuers start out there (with full dev discussions) and (hopefully) eventually find their way to doc.t.o
-: PenguinMan98 nods
PenguinMan98: think it's worth my time to upgrade to tiki 11? is it out yet?
ricks99: 11.0 was released several wks ago. i've moved a few of my sites to it (includting smarties)
lots of nice new featuers
but remember...
will become obsolute upon 12.0 release.
