-: PenguinMan98 breaks out the wine. Marc's back
marclaporte: hahahah
-: luciash just created a Tiki instance on show, waited 2 mins but get 404 :-/
luciash: marclaporte: should i destroy it ?
-: luciash just edited a bug which took 3 years to confirm ;-)
PenguinMan98: oh?
luciash: yes, it was marked as new and open for 3 years ! and i just confirmed the bug is still present in trunk since Tiki version 5
goddamnit, sf.net is giving lot of 500 :(
PenguinMan98: woooooow
how did that get missed?
Hey guys, I'm planning to dive into trackers tonight. Any good docs you know of?
marclaporte: luciash: so you made a show instance for the issue?
luciash: marclaporte: yes, but it does not seem to work (tried trunk)
PenguinMan98: yes, http://doc.tiki.org/Trackers and http://twbasics.tikiforsmarties.com/movies/trackers_90.htm for a start
marclaporte: the instance supposed to be here: http://chealer9-232-3667.show.tikiwiki.org/
PenguinMan98: I always check those two sites anyway

hello all. tell me tell me from a wiki page, (how)can i link to a blog post? (where is the answer in the doc?)

luciash: TomJarvis: hi
TomJarvis: My server was unaccessible for around 10 hours yesterday.
Luckly it access to the intenet was restored before midnight, in time for all my scheduled scripts to run.
The fiber was cut, actually both the fiber and the backup redundant fiber were both cut at the same time.
chateau: luciash: Tx, but i might not doing it right. what is "blogpost1", the title of the post? the id number of the post?
TomJarvis: chateau: If you have the seach engine friendly URLs turned on, the url BLOGPOST1 will be converted to /tiki-view_blog_post.php?(postId)
which is Tiki table: tiki_blog_posts, row: postId= post number, column name: data
chateau: TomJarvis: mmm.... Tx but...i'm not that power user yet... first thing first: where do i turn on the search engine friendly URLs?
TomJarvis: Admin home -> Features, Global features tab, Additional section, Search engine friendly URL
If you turn it on, you also have to use the Tiki provided .htaccess file (at least on Tikis below 10, I don't know the settings for 10 or higher)
twistedbot: joined #tikiwiki

chateau: TomJarvis: i'm still on 6.x, but i'm in French. says i have to block special caracters from page names, but where do i do this? tiki would not find it automatically (language recognition i think)
@TomJarvis: and this"to use the Tiki provided .htaccess file" ... i don't know what it means. i think you're stuck with a (almost not)newbie(anymore but still)
marclaporte1: or amette
TomJarvis: You don't have to have search engine friendly URLs turned on, if you don't, the link to the blog post is: tiki-view_blog_post.php?(postid)
chateau: Are you on a linux server or windows?
chateau: mac
TomJarvis: Did you have search engine friendly URLs turned on already? The special characters it wants you to block cause problems when used with .htaccess
If you already have pages created using some of the characters that cause problems, you can not turn on search engine safe URLs.
chateau: i turned it off to try the link you just gave me.... message error now: "aucun article indiqué" wich means something like "no post indicated" .. so i might doing a slight error identifying the post...
Since i write in french, yes i do have lots of special caracters
i'll have to go without
twistedbot: joined #tikiwiki
TomJarvis: When you browse to the page displaying the post, it will show something like: postId=3
You want the 3 to be added as /blogpost3
luciash: chateau: yes, id number of the post
chateau: i think you already have SEFURLs on
TomJarvis: with search engine safe URLs turned on, and the Tiki provided _htaccess renamed to .htaccess, (yourdomain)/blogpost3 should show that page.
See https://doc.tiki.org/Apache+Clean+URLs
twistedbot: joined #tikiwiki
chateau: @luciash: friendly urs and sefurl=same? in french would it be url court?
luciash: chateau: u already have that enabled by marc iirc
TomJarvis: I found the documentation page on the blocked characters, I do not know how french special characters affect it: https://dev.tiki.org/Bad+characters
twistedbot: joined #tikiwiki
luciash: chateau: because it works when you add that to your domain > /blogpost1
twistedbot: joined #tikiwiki
chateau: luciash: ok then. so... if i go back to the beguinig if the post id is 75 for examble... i do what [blogpost???|Link to Blog post]
luciash: TomJarvis: blog posts are not using the blog post titles in SEFURLs in 6.x anyway
chateau: TomJarvis: Tx for the doc! (i have some reading to do!!!)
ahhh!:-)
luciash: chateau: yes
chateau: so [blogpost75|Link to Blog post]
luciash: chateau: blogpost75
TomJarvis: Here are the "blocked" characters: , (comma) : (colon) (, ) (parentheses) ' (apostrophe) ! (exclamation mark) * (asterisk) (I don't know if irc will change any of those)
twistedbot: joined #tikiwiki
chateau: luciash: bim! now it works!
TomJarvis: Tx!!

leagris: ok, forum view
try to sort subject by smiley
Issue related to topic_smileys=y
well, the request builder does not mention/prefix table for column to sort on
a 'smiley' column exists in both tables, so the database engine does not know on which one to sort on.

which tables?
probably would need a fix in the code before it gets to use the sort order - forums are a pretty mucky place
i have to go now, bbl
leagris: forums/comments titles
jonnyb: ok
leagris: I'd like to add mention of table name to search column names
so too desembiguate similar column names across joints
jonnyb: curious that it's mixing up topic_smiley and smiley
leagris: like this bug with sorting forum subjects by smiley
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM (SELECT `a`.`threadId`, COALESCE(a.`archived`, 'n') as `archived`, COALESCE(max(b.`commentDate`), a.`commentDate`) as `lastPost`, COALESCE(a.`type`='s', false) as `sticky`, count(distinct b.`threadId`) as `replies` from `tiki_comments` a left join `tiki_comments` b on b.`parentId`=a.`threadId` where 1 = 1 AND a.`object`='1' and (a.`archived` is null or a.`archived`='n') and a.`objectType` = 'forum' and a.`parentId` = '0' group by
a.`threadId`order by `sticky` desc, `smiley` asc, `threadId`) a
jonnyb: yuk :)
see you later...
leagris: ;D
jonnyb: all those COALESCEs look bad, looks like the tables weren't properly designed in the first place? anyway, back later...

luciash: Jyhem_: that explains that :-/
Jyhem_: btw, why it strips numbers ? it does not make sense to me
Jyhem_: usernames are just for prettyness, we don't want to rely on them. We rely on userIDs so we can find them with dev.to/userXX. Whatever is strange is out, and if all is out it is replaced by "user". I feel chealer9 should actually have been converted to user. The real issue is, dev.to should rely on what is sent back, since show does all the unicity and stripping work anyway
still working on kicking bugs
