hi there!
i'm just installing vega
and the installer is 'working' on the db
it's been almost 15 minutes now
using phpmyadmin, I can see I have 246 tables and nothing's moving anymore
I'm using Opera 12.x
can anybody help me what to do now?

I would start to play with those classes
obviously the first one (item) contain the images

fabriciusfor the theme:
just make a copy of a theme and make it a variant using a dash:
styles/mytheme-custom.css instead of original styles/mytheme.css
named in this way, the dashed variation uses all the same options/image folder and maybe optional layout etc.
you just apply the variation instead of the original in admin -> look and feel
and for the carousel jquery: you do not alter that file(s) - you just look into it to understand, if there would be more interesting css selectors you could "call" in the custom css variation
another hint:
given you want to use jqui.css as basis for customisation:
just copy the jqui.css and the styles/jqui folder and rename the copies to mythemename.css and /styles/mythemename
and apply the mythemename theme in admin -> look and feel
this way you will not at all mess up any default and just delete and do again, if you messed up the copy
and another hint:
if you want to alter a layout (template, .tpl)
for your theme
just go to templates/styles and in there create the directory mythemename
so: templates/styles/mythemename
then look for the appropriate template file anywhere in templates
and copy it to templates/styles/mythemename
this copy (you need no re-naming!) you can alter and the change will only apply to the theme "mythemename"
if messed - just delete and you are back to default
but this is advanced - still easy 		[22:37]

so EASY to connect via ssh (if wespace offers) and no need of a software like putty (what is good to have on wndows)

you just need to go to your file system and click on "connect to server" and then connect via ssh - or sftp or ftp, if webhost does not offer ssh
then you can bookmark the connection and (when saving the password) you have the server integrated in your local file system
click on the book mark, click through the path to the file and open the file in your default texteditor (maybe gedit)
this way you can view all files and customise the css - start with the css
