I am still trying to get global(group) vs category permissions to work... the simplest example does not work... the user can see the forum when enabled globally, but he cannot see it when disbaled globally and enabled in the category
My problem seems related to this post: https://tiki.org/forumthread48053 Tiki-KGB: 03luciash r52624 10branches/13.x/ 10styles/layout/less/tiki-tabs_and_tables.less 10styles/layout/tiki.css

Webdruid: Hi, just in for a minute and saw your post from 2 hrs ago - there are a few global permissions that have to be applied to make certain category permissions working. I usually set Registered to minimal rights (nearly Anonymous) for most features and set category permissions only. I sometimes hate the necessity of applying certain global permissions, but usually it does not affect too much of the setup ... I just want to have
information for groups ... anyway: pls add the setup for your feature in a codebox to your forum thread ... and maybe setup a show instance on dev.tiki.org. We then could easily find the problem - I am very sure, that there is only a tickbox missing somewhere.
Webdruid: pls mind, that I might not see your answer here, as I am hopping on and off and here and then disconnected by the system. I have the forums subscribed and will see your next post. Webdruid: Thanks luciash and fabricius... I also figured the global permission thingie out. Now I just give global read permission to my user group and then take their right away to read specific forums (or more generally objects) tied to a category
I will try to set up a demo case as you suggested and post my issue to the forums chibaguy: joined #tikiwiki

any idea what a facet is, in this context? jonnyb: yes, i was wondering about that one - and i sort of understand what it means :) chibaguy: that's good jonnyb: yes, facets are the feature in Elastic Search where you get checkboxes (with a count) of "sub-categories" within a search chibaguy: oh, i see jonnyb: e.g. if you search for "frog" it returns the list or all frogs and checkboxes for: [x] tree (12), [x] green (42), [x] edible (1) etc (for instance)
but quite how that works with whole tracker items i'm not sure ;) chibaguy: ok, thanks. redflo: joined #tikiwiki Tiki-KGB: 03robertplummer r52629 10branches/13.x/lib/rating/ratinglib.php * [FIX] delete all anon ratings

Hi everybody
I think I found two anomaly on tikiwiki 13 jonnyb: hi XGuarden
just one? :)
ah, no - two!
:O XGuarden: lol Tiki-KGB: 03jonnybradley r52631 10branches/13.x/lib/filegals/filegallib.php
[FIX] filegals: Don't move drawings (image/svg+xml "files") out of the database as they stop working XGuarden: http://uni-action.com/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=Printer+not+activated%2C+error+code+-30
The registry key will not redimentionate if I minimize google Chrome wild jonnyb: so i see... Tiki-KGB: 03jonnybradley r52632 10trunk/lib/filegals/filegallib.php 10trunk/lib/rating/ratinglib.php 10trunk 10trunk/lib/smarty_tiki/function.rating_result_avg.php * [MRG] Automatic merge, branches/13.x 52625 to 52631 jonnyb: the div resizes ok even thoiugh the text doesn't
sounds like a chibaguy thing to me :) Tiki-KGB: 03jonnybradley r52633 10branches/ 1012.x/lib/filegals/filegallib.php 1012.x
[bp/r52631][FIX] filegals: Don't move drawings (image/svg+xml "files") out of the database as they stop working chibaguy: Sorry, what is the problem/anomaly? jonnyb: if you open the "Afficher les clés de registre" heading at the bottom and make the browser really narrow the text doesn't wrap but just sticks out of the right of the page chibaguy: Well, it can't wrap because there are no breaks in the string, right?
Long urls do the same thing. jonnyb: indeed chibaguy: In wiki text, etc.
I don't know if there's a solution unless you could do a CSS3 truncate/elipsis thing somehow. jonnyb: Yes, n idea if it's even possible to fix that
hmmm, maybe - overflow hidden and the elipsis thing, yes luciash: that is where litecss was doing good job pushing the right col ;-) jonnyb: yes, setting "overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis; " on .[anel-body fixes it
hi luciash luciash: </end of shameless plug>
hi jonny :) XGuarden: ok chibaguy: "on .panel-body", right?
(so no one tries to fine ".[anel-body" ;-) ) XGuarden: I understand what you mean, but I dont know how to fix it, css is not my cup of tea lol chibaguy: Should that be a global rule? XGuarden: That will be usefull for iphone etc... chibaguy: There are other cases on nonwrapping text, such as a long url, etc. jonnyb: sorry, yes .panel-body of course :) chibaguy: If it should be global, it can be added to tiki.css and the .less file for panels, modules, etc. XGuarden: That will be fix on a next version?
Or I need to play with css file by myselft? jonnyb: hmm, good question as to whether that should be global - some people may prefer scroll bars so at least you can read the stuff - by truncating you lose info
XGuarden: you could add it to you custom css maybe
in admin/look&feel/customize chibaguy: It seems that using overflow:auto or scroll might be not so good for panels in general. jonnyb: .panel-body {overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis;}
indeed chibaguy, i guess that's why it's not in bootstrap chibaguy: The registry key panel could be given a bootstrap class so that it won't display at all in narrow devices.
If that would be better than truncated text.
I don't know how that panel is made, though, but if there's access to its containing div, then class="hidden-sm" could be added.
(I think that's the syntax.)
By the way, the panel in the page source has 'div class="panel panel-default " style=";;margin:0;;;"' which is a bit odd. XGuarden: I can try but if I change that I will lost it on each update? Telesight: joined #tikiwiki chibaguy: XGuarden, if you add the custom css on tiki-admin.php?page=look, it won't be lost on updates.
Or if you modify your wiki page code, it won't be lost.
(I mention the second way in case you can add a "hidden-sm" class to the panel div somehow. XGuarden: What line I need to add inside if I want it to be a general rule for all these kind of case that text must be retunr on the next line?
.panel-body {overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis;} ?? chibaguy: Yes, but that rule doesn't make the text return to the next line. The text won't go to a second line because there is no space in the line. XGuarden: Yah , I see, I jsut tested it chibaguy: It's only for a nicer appearance, staying in the box. XGuarden: If I want the like return inside the box, what I need to put?
like = line... chibaguy: try "word-wrap:break-word;"
.panel-body {word-wrap:break-word;}
just googled for it. XGuarden: ok, you google it faster then me lol chibaguy: :-) XGuarden: thanks work great
That will be better if he try to change line with e / symbol, but it's fine like this =:0) chibaguy: oh, good. :-) SkiNut: joined #tikiwiki redflo: joined #tikiwiki jonnyb: bye all, more Tiki fun tomorrow! :) chibaguy: joined #tikiwiki aalex: joined #tikiwiki chibaguy: joined #tikiwiki fabricius: polom
