Hello, is it possible to define a tpl or wiki page as a tpl, to display a trackeritem from plugin TRACKERLIST. So far, i can only create a wikipage/tpl to change the list, but when clicking an items, it olways jumps to the trackerview. [02:37]
....... (idle for 30mn)
I can use TRACKERLIST and the url param to jump to a page with a TRACKER, but this is usally to edit something, not to only view it. [03:07]

Mark___joined #tikiwiki
Hello. If I may, I would like to ask: What is the best way in tiki to create a list of all the members in the page with information about them?
[10:37]
gillesjoined #tikiwiki [10:51]
chibaguyMark___, there's a plugin for that, I believe.
Check https://doc.tiki.org/PluginUserlist .
Here's my question, for anybody, what does "Output the registration results" do, and how do you get it to work?
What I'd like is for the user to be redirected to a page after registering, which is a pretty tracker page where he/she can input more information.
[10:52]
Mark___Sorry I'm new to tiki I can't help with that [10:59]
chibaguyThat's ok. [10:59]
Mark___chibaguy can I ask you about UserPage? [10:59]
chibaguySure. [10:59]
Mark___I seem not to understand how that works
Now I have a member, whose user name is his e-mail
[10:59]
chibaguyWell, it's a page that only the user can edit. [11:00]
Mark___How will he get a userpage? [11:00]
chibaguyIf you activate the feature, it's made automatically. The link to it is in one of the MyTiki screens. [11:00]
Mark___I don't have user names, and activating UserPage doesn't give members a user page... [11:00]
chibaguyUser names means the names of the people registered at your site.
You can choose how to make the page name. It could be "User page: Mark" for example, or "The wiki page of: Mark".
That is, the first part of the page name is set by the site admin, and Tiki adds the user's name for each user.
[11:01]
Mark___User's Page plugin is activited, and yet I don't know how to reach that...
I set that to "Member:"
[11:03]
chibaguyOn the Community admin page, you can activate the feature (I think that's the place). [11:03]
Mark___It's enabled
What comes then?
chibaguy?
[11:03]
chibaguyYeah, I'm checking the docs, which are kind of nonexistent.
Did you specify the page name, how it begins?
[11:05]
Mark___Yes, I specified "Member:" [11:06]
chibaguyok. [11:06]
Mark___I have to point out that there's no place to put a real name of a user [11:06]
chibaguyActually, there is. Probably on the log in administration page.
You can specify "user real name where possible" or something like that.
This turns on that functionality.
[11:07]
Mark___When I go to the user wizard, the details are grayed out
apparently there's something to enable
chibaguy: At add new user, there's only email and password... nothing else whatsoever!
[11:08]
chibaguyI'm not very familiar with the user wizard as it's a pretty new feature. I generally go directly to the admin pages to configure things. [11:10]
Mark___chibaguy: OK. Even there when I add a new user I don't get asked for any names
only e-mail
[11:11]
chibaguyRight. I think that must not be activated yet at your site. At your tiki-admin.php?page=community#contentadmin_community-4 page, you can activate it.
"Show user's real name instead of login (when possible)"
[11:14]
Mark___I have that enabled, too [11:14]
chibaguyok. The basic registration form is only name and email, as you said. Additional information must be entered at the user's information page. [11:15]
Mark___Well the user information page doesn't have that option for the user... which is confusing
Found it!
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanks!
It's so not obvious
in /tiki-user_information.php
Thanks a lot chibaguy
You're a lifesaver! :)
[11:16]
chibaguySure. The information can be seen at your tiki-user_preferences.php page, in your case.
I mean each user can see his/her info there and edit it.
[11:18]
Mark___May I ask another question? [11:19]
chibaguySure. [11:19]
Mark___I would like all users to have the same template for their user page. Is that possible? [11:19]
chibaguyI don't know offhand.
I'm guessing it might be hard, since userpages are kind of made to be private/personal.
I mean in terms of editing.
[11:20]
Mark___I see!
Apparently for my members I have to create every page myself...
[11:21]
chibaguyWell, I don't know how that'll work. The user page as the feature is set up is created automatically as an empty page. [11:24]
Mark___hmmmmmmm [11:25]
chibaguyYou can make pages and assign them to people of course, but they wouldn't be linked to the same way that the userpage is, etc. [11:25]
Mark___chibaguy: Let me put it this way. If you were me, what would you do? I have a collaboration of about 30 members. I want pages for each of them with basic information [11:25]
chibaguy(As far as I know - I haven't really experimented in that area.)
You can use a tracker.
[11:25]
Mark___Actually I couldn't understand really what a tracker is. Could you briefly explain? [11:26]
chibaguyAnd wiki pages to input and display the information.
It's a kind of database enabler.
[11:26]
Mark___Could you explain further? [11:27]
chibaguyYou can create the fields and then you have a form where items can be inserted. [11:27]
Mark___That would be it actually!
A tracker can do that?
[11:28]
chibaguyYep. [11:28]
Mark___How? Where do I start? [11:28]
chibaguyThe idea started out as a bug tracker, but has been expanded to accomodate all kinds of data.
https://doc.tiki.org/Trackers
[11:28]
Tiki|botjoined #tikiwiki [11:30]
chibaguyYou can even extend the registration form to include more information that the user can input at registration time, if you want them to do that.
that is, a tracker can be linked to the registration form.
[11:30]
Mark___I see!
Thanks a lot for the information
[11:31]
chibaguyThere's a "profile" for that, which is another whole area.
https://doc.tiki.org/User+Tracker
[11:31]
Mark___Perfect! Thanks! [11:34]
chibaguyYep. Good luck. [11:35]
