I now figured out a normal navbar with additional "affix" event, using the Bootstrap JS affix component affix make a non-fixed element fixed after a scroll event - scroll a certain number of pixels and the get the menu back, then fixed just add data-spy="affix" data-offset-top="1" to the (non fixed) <nav ...> and add a few lines of css and you have a navbar-fixed-top whic does not "steal" place from the underlying area ... give data-offset-top a higher number, then you have a sticky navbar, which reappears after some scrolling | [20:23] |
