ha
chibaguy: :-)
hi jonnyb
jonnyb: still no sf mailing list emails for anyone i guess?
chibaguy: quite a few little glitches in the theme files.
no, I sent a test several hours ago.
What do you think about the talk about moving away from Sourceforge?
jonnyb: Jyhem said yesterday we can get them via their irc room here, i think - you about?
chibaguy: or about that idea?
jonnyb: (hmmm, 1pm in France, unlikley)
undecided, but they do seem to be being extreemly unreliable these days
chibaguy: do you use git much?
jonnyb: some these days, phpstorm makes it fairly easy bit it still goes all mysterious from time to time
it's really fast (doing merges and branch compares etc)
chibaguy: yes, I need to read the git for dummies, still.
The hosting company I use mostly (a2hosting) supports git as well as svn - I checked recently.
Seems all slick and modern but I need to study it a bit. I've used it, following steps carefully, but don't feel very comfortable yet.
jonnyb: going to raise a ticket on https://sourceforge.net/support (no response from irc channel so far)
Jyhem: polom

Jyhem: did you get my test email on devel list ?
jonnyb: no, all sf lists still down :(
i'm in the #sourceforge channel but no response to my query yet
Jyhem: I did it tonight: Wed, Feb 25, 2015 at 1:16 AM
jonnyb: did what? the test mail?
Jyhem: I was on the irc channel with the guy, he asked if I had tried myself. I did and… it seemed to work
yes, topic: Test 01
jonnyb: no sign of it here
last i got was "Tue, 24 Feb 2015 03:06:21 +0000" from Lindon "Re: [Tiki-devel] Unused Vendors"
Jyhem: oh :-( did some filtering move it from my "sent" folder to the "tiki-dev" folder ?
-: Jyhem feels silly
jonnyb: :P
Seem's sf's business hours are 16:00 to 00:00 UTC
Jyhem: yes, it was 1 am and he said everybody else was gone already
[25/02/2015 01:14] <Jyhem> specifically, tikiwiki-devel@lists.sourceforge.net and tikiwiki-cvs@lists.sourceforge.net have not had any mails since about (checking)
chibaguy: Are you getting the tikiwiki code mail (or are you subscribed)? That's working, but not the others. "Sent from sourceforge.net because you indicated interest in https://sourceforge.net/p/tikiwiki/code/"
Jyhem: [25/02/2015 01:15] <zeromus> jyhem have you tried sending a mail to it yourself?

[25/02/2015 01:15] <JBarrett1> Jyhem, I'll give it a once over and see what I can find
[25/02/2015 01:16] <Jyhem> Hmm, I seem to have got through now
[25/02/2015 01:18] <Jyhem> It seems to work again, sorry. When we wanted to report it, it was outside opening hours
[25/02/2015 01:18] <Jyhem> and now I did not verify before I mentioned it
[25/02/2015 01:18] <JBarrett1> Jyhem, no worries, at 1st glance I didn't see anything out of the ordinary
[25/02/2015 01:19] <Jyhem> But I'm still pretty sure a bunch of commits never made it to tikiwiki-cvs@lists.sourceforge.net
[25/02/2015 01:19] <Jyhem> earlier
[25/02/2015 01:19] <zeromus> always a possibility if the systems were glitching
[25/02/2015 01:19] <zeromus> you could revert and re-do them!
[25/02/2015 01:19] <Jyhem> I just mention it so you know if it happens again
[25/02/2015 01:20] <zeromus> ok yeah the data suggests emails are lost and not just backlogged
[25/02/2015 01:20] <JBarrett1> Jyhem, I think thats fair, I'll keep an eye for it
[25/02/2015 01:21] <Jyhem> thanks, good night
[25/02/2015 01:21] <JBarrett1> Right now I think pretty much everyone has left for the day. I can ask about it tomorrow
[25/02/2015 01:21] <JBarrett1> np you too
That's for reference for the next one who contacts them.

jonnyb: chibaguy: i've been getting 404's on a couple of images for the past few weeks, looks like it's in themes/base_files/less/tiki-color_selectors.less:188 and 191
chibaguy: Oh, ok. I'll check.
jonnyb: seems the use @{imagePathToImgDir} but should be the normal /img dir (not the theme one)
chibaguy: oh
jonnyb: my LESS compiling still deletes huge chunks of the css :(
chibaguy: weird
jonnyb: in the less file watcher thing, what do you set your Working Directory to?
chibaguy: I'll check
$FileDir$
jonnyb: hmm, wouldn't that be the /less dir?
i was trying $FileParentDir$/css
chibaguy: That looks similar to my output directory: ../css/$FileNameWithoutExtension$.css
Does "working directory" mean the directory that the less files are in, that are being compiled?
I don't know now why I have that setting especially. Maybe saw it in a doc somewhere.
jonnyb: aha, that's what i got wrong
chibaguy: Oh, I hope that's it.
jonnyb: is that "Output paths to refresh"?
chibaguy: yes
jonnyb: ok, trying that
hmm, still getting lots of css deleted in the tiki themes
have to get on to client stuff (also lunch) but would like to get this worked out with you sometime... soon :)
apart from that '@{imagePath}../overlay-light.png' seems to work for the ajax images
chibaguy: Yes, I saw in the theme css it was one level off.

jonnyb: chibaguy: r54105 doesn't seem to work for me, i'm getting probelms with imagePathToImgDir not being defined (it's commented out, but still used)
gezza: hi
jonnyb: hi gezza
chibaguy: hi gezza
yeah, something's not right yet
just noticed
gezza: chibaguy: tiki_base.css has a rule for .tiki .dropdown-menu li:last-of-type, .menuSection ul li:last-of-type that makes a -5px margin. This chops off the bottom for "I forgot my password" in the login module
jonnyb: i've had to disable my less file watcher, it jist goes mad when i svn up and creates conflicts with incoming css changes :(
gezza: at least I think this is what causes this
jonnyb: sounds about right gezza
gezza: what to do with it? :) just remove from less? or is it needed somewhere?
chibaguy: gezza, yes, probably so. I added that rule because previously there was a 5px space above the first list item and below the last. No problem when the background colors are the same, but looks bad when the ul and li have different background colors.
So I'd say the scope of the rule maybe needs to be made more specific.
I mean yes, probably so that is what causes the problem.
jonnyb, I know what you mean. When I'm editing a less file, it's hard because the compiling keeps causing delays in the editor.
gezza: chibaguy, so I should not remove the rule, ok, but what do you mean by making the scope more specific?
jonnyb: chibaguy: i guess it's when lots of less changes arrive in svn up, and lessc kicks in and changes css files before the updated files come in from svn
chibaguy: gezza, well I just checked and I think a solution would be to add the class "dropdown-menu" to the li class="list-unstyled" that contains "I forgot my password".
that class adds 5px padding top and bottom to the ul.
jonnyb: and also when editing it keeps compiling when it shouldn't - i want to run it on demand
chibaguy: Right, jonnyb. Same behavior here.
There is a checkbox for that, but I don't recall what happened when I switched it the other way.
Especially when the editing affects all the themes' stylesheets, it's a battle between me and "10 processes running".
jonnyb: aha, "immediate file sync" will try it unchecked
gezza: adding "dropdown-menu" class also adds "display: none"
so it disappears
chibaguy: oh, that's not so good.
gezza: :)
jonnyb: oh right, chibaguy i got this far before once, it seems my less doesn't like what's in tiki-selectors.less (in jqui for instance) and i have a warning displayed on the #gradient bits
the syntax highlighter thing seems to prefer @gradient but it still doesn't work
chibaguy: I'll check about where that gradient syntax came from.
jonnyb: have tried various (guesswork) variations and none of them work for me
but am a bit stuck due to: NameError: variable @imagePathToImgDir is undefined in ..../themes/base_files/less/tiki-color_selectors.less on line 189, column 31:
chibaguy: It's apparently a Bootstrap mixin - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13040765/how-to-call-bootstraps-less-gradient-mixins
Yes, I uncommented the @imagePathToImgDir to avoid that error, just now.
jonnyb: doesn't it need changing to be just imagePath?
chibaguy: Yes, actually. So all instances of it need to be changed.
Hmm, I think.
Well, I'll investigate the details.
jonnyb: also, imagePath has the traling slash, so '@{imagePath}/icons ends up with a double slash in it
i can change them but can't do the css still
now i get: NameError: variable @gray-light is undefined (maybe should be @gray-lighter?)
chibaguy: Rrr, every time I do a search, the results get covered up by the compile results window and I lose the info.
jonnyb: nope, @gray-lighter not defined either (i'm lost)
chibaguy: Well, I get those NameErrors a lot, when actually it is defined, but in another file.
I don't get it, because normally almost every variable is defined in another file.
Some get complained about.
jonnyb: a debugger would be nice :)
chibaguy: Of course once in a while one isn't defined, but it's kind of a boy-crying-wolf thing.
I don't know if my setup is wrong in some way, or what.
jonnyb: it looks to me like less is intelligent to work out that a file is included in another one and to know what's defined before it... i think
chibaguy: Yes, generally that's the case for sure.
And smart because I understand even if the files aren't in the "right" order, it can find the definitions.
I mean the definition doesn't have to precede the variable use.
Tiki-KGB: 03jonnybradley r54107 10branches/14.x/themes/base_files/less/tiki-color_selectors.less

chibaguy: Yes, actually I was working on making the same kind of change here. I guess it's not a problem that there's double slashes in the path.
jonnyb: i tihnk route.php can choke on them, but maybe it doesn't affect image files
chibaguy: actually they seem to get changed to one slash, maybe in the compiling.
Oh, my mistake. There's no double slash - I was looking at my file rather than the new one.
jonnyb: i'm not entirely convinced themes/jqui/less/tiki-selectors.less is actually getting used in jqui.css
chibaguy: :-)
jonnyb: yes it is, if i rename it i get an error on jqui.lss compile
but even commenting out the gradient stuff make it fail (and it's css gets removed fomr jqui.css

jonnyb: yes, the one in svn has those definitions fine, but hen i compile it here (for any "tiki" theme) that chunk of css gets removed
chibaguy: Yes, me too, now.
jonnyb: :O
chibaguy: I mean I get the NameError and the process finishes with exit code 2, which is failure I guess.
jonnyb: it's always been like that for me here - odd
chibaguy: Well, cleary somehow I've managed to get it to compile, but I can't say that it's been a scientific process.
jonnyb: maybe it was on an older version of bootstrap?
chibaguy: If you add @import "../../../vendor/twitter/bootstrap/less/mixins.less";
at the top of jqui's tiki-selectors.less, it will compile, or does here anyway.
jonnyb: doing similar, but with the whole of bootstrap.less in tiki-selectors.lss
chibaguy: Ok. But bootstrap.less, which is included by jqui.less, does have "@import "mixins.less";
" but it seems this isn't being recognized when jqui/less/tiki-selectors.less is edited.

but not in tiki-selectors i guess

Hello
jonnyb: hi wolfganga
wolfganga: :-)
jonnyb: wolfganga: so you saw 14.x branched the other day? (sf mailing lists are down)
so all FIX commits should go in there
i updated https://dev.tiki.org/Where+to+commit (hope it makes sense)
wolfganga: not really - i would have asked for that later on.
so - i have spent a lot of work on dynamic item list. If i would like you to see / test / review - i can stil use trunk?
and the because its a fix - put it into the v14 branch?
jonnyb: hmmm, do you think it's a safe fix? did you have any tests where it was working, becasue people are using it already
hopefully stuff in 14.x will get more eyeballs and testing, so it almost certainly should go in there i think
wolfganga: i carefully test stuff beforehand, but the tracker thing - especially the dynamic-list-field is sometimes "uneasy". So i would like you guys to have a look at it upfront ;-)
So would that still be trunk?
jonnyb: i think it sounds like a real fix we should have in 14.0 so i guess 14.x would be best
wolfganga: ok
