But sounds good, thanks.
By the way, do you think it would be effect to activate "request a passcode" and display the passcode at the site, like in the invitation to register, to thwart bots?
I'd like to do something that's kind of automatic so the client isn't bothered by requests. jonnyb: where, sorry?
i think it's already enabled on tiki.org, no?
but fails if you have javascript disabled chibaguy: Yes but I don't know how the passcode is displayed. I activated it and there's a message to contact the site admin to get the passcode. I need to look at tiki.org, I guess. jonnyb: surely recaptcha2 should weed most of them out now?
ah right, i think there's anotehr option somewhere near it, to display the code via js? chibaguy: Oh, I see I missed a checkbox on the login config.
I can have the passcode displayed.

How much is 12 + 20 : 32
Which Empereur lost at Waterloo : Napoleon
What is the first name of Trump : Donald
only How much is 12 + 20 : 32 worked
however:
all worked like this:
What is the lastname of the first man on the moon : 10
How much is 12 + 20 : 32
Which Empereur lost at Waterloo : 20
What is the first name of Trump : 40
only numbers ?

lib/wiki-plugins/wikiplugin_img.php jonnyb: i was mainly thinking of doc and dev amette_: right.... -: amette_ is somehow constantly under the impression that community sites are running 15.x amette_: Shouldn't they be switched to 15.x soon? Dogfood philosophy and release process or some such?! jonnyb: i think most of those hits being recorded weren't observing the pref
yes, i tihnk it's just before the beta happens
so maybe not worth bothering backporting i guess? amette_: So... maybe just wait for that?! jonnyb: yup, ok amette_: Yeah, probably... I wouldn't really mind, but 15.x LTS sounds like a good place for this kind of change.
alright, cool jonnyb: i also have a question about elastic search installation, if you have a mo amette_: Sure, go ahead. jonnyb: i have a client with an old slightly out of date centos/cpanel server (on centos 5 i think) and i'd like to switch him to using elastic but without killing (or replacing) his server, any suggestions?
php and mysql have been updated so generally it runs tiki 14/15 fine - we have about 10 tikis on it, all fairly low traffic amette_: You can get a new server, install elastic on it and use the rest-interface just as on localhost. Just make damn sure to firewall it and probably turn off scripting. redflo: joined #tikiwiki jonnyb: we looked at using hosted elastic, seems to be quite cheap if you don't need much of it - i don't think he really wants the ongoing expense of another server though amette_: Well, I have never worked with hosted elastic, but if the price feels right for your customer, then there's not much that can go wrong, I suppose. It being hosted by the guys who develop it and all. jonnyb: amazon do it too - about 5¢ an hour upwards amette_: Also, if the sites don't have much traffic, it should really be ok.. this being an issue even when self-hosted... jonnyb: so what about installing it on a virtual thing on that server - bad idea?
(if possible) amette_: ... cause depending on how you use elasticsearch, it can be that you transfer a couple of MBs for every page view in Tiki. jonnyb: yes, some of the sites are pretty heavy on custom search and list plugins amette_: Hmmm, if the server is big enough for that... I don't see any reason for why not.. except for maybe the fact that you will have to replace that server in pretty exactly one year from now (March 31, 2017 - CentOS 5 End-of-Life).
Which on the other hand also means that.. yeah, a virtual machine does make sense, cause you could move it over in one piece to your new hardware. jonnyb: ew, good point amette_: If heavy on custom search and list plugin... then yes... better have it on localhost... (or use the plugins in a very smart way, though that's maybe not always possible). jonnyb: :P amette_: What you will need for elastic is RAM, lots and lots of RAM. So if the server has enough of that... worth a try. jonnyb: ah, ok - i'll check that
as i said it's pretty old so maybe not so ram-full ;)
thanks amette_: yw, please keep me updated :) jonnyb: back to the stats thing, can you have a look at the stats table on doc and see how much stuff is getting written to it sometime? I tihnk a query like this would do it:
SELECT * FROM `tiki_stats` ORDER BY `day` LIMIT 20; amette_: That query took 4.96 seconds. *G*

Thanks! :) jonnyb: :O amette_: yup *G* jonnyb: so can you try it again and we'll see if stuff's being written there all the time? amette_: Hmm, it changed, but I'm not sure why or what: https://zerobin.amette.eu/?c8f671dc22a65831#6m7L9s/zT3HnpnVlS5d+xyKJcnMr5NIYfRahF6R2Hn0=
Seems to be just a little reordering for some reason, but no new data I think. jonnyb: i think the change was just random sorting of things that happened at the same second
yup yup amette_: yup, k jonnyb: i just loaded the home page (as anon) amette_: I don't see any mention of HomePage in there - no change at all actually. jonnyb: it's called Documentation for some reason amette_: lol
But no, just the hit that was there before, too.
That timestamp converts like this: 1457020800 -> Thu 3 Mar 17:00:00 CET 2016

hi ricks99
ricks99 : isn't there a plugin for that?! ricks99: if there is, i can't find it :( jonnyb: i think you can do that with plugin list - someone added a "count.tpl" template to do that i think ricks99: ah Jyhem_laptop: joined #tikiwiki jonnyb: ricks99: https://doc.tiki.org/LIST+-+output+command#Count_Formatting ricks99: woo hoo! thnx -: jonnyb looks forward to ricks99 writing the plugin list book ;) jonnyb: brb ricks99: perfect! amette_: "List Plugin for Smarties" - I'd like that! :) -: ricks99 needs an 5 extra hours each day to write another book amette_: Somebody give that man his hours already! :P ricks99: LIST works *perfectly* -- exactly what i needed. jonnyb: :) ricks99: now... if someone knows how to format the popup description for trackercalendar plugin, i'd be a *very* happy camper. ^^^^ jonnyb: would need to have a look at one (in the DOM inspector) but don't have one handy...
thought there might be a demo here https://doc.tiki.org/PluginTrackerCalendar but no... amette_: jonnyb : I think I remember you saying in Brussels that PHPStorm's remote development (Deployment) is hopeless... but just wanted to make sure that I'm not missing anything..?! It's down- and uploading for hours, blocking PHPStorm completely, then doesn't really realise what changed and what not, etc... is that right or am I using it wrong? jonnyb: did i say that amette_? not sure that's quite fair, asking anything to syncronise 10,000+ files will take a while ;)
i use it but exclude all the files i'm not customising
ricks99: will check, ta amette_: I'm not sure, if or what exactly you said... that's why I'm asking! :D
well, yes, I agree with the amount of files being bad... but rsync does it and that's open source, so it's nothing esoteric.
Hmmm, yeah, I tried excluding... probably I will have to exclude waaaay more...
