luciash: chibaguy: how's it going in chiba? :)
chibaguy: oh, going pretty well.
how about you?
luciash: glad to hear :) i'm not in chiba, sadly
chibaguy: ah, too bad. ;-)
Actually chiba isn't so special, I think. It's cloudy these days, and my area is mostly suburbs and farms.
but peaceful.
luciash: I finished latest fixes for https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/pull/585
unfortunatelly there appeared more conflicts at the same time from the upstream so i need to figure them out again and merge :-p
I like peaceful places ;)

chibaguy: On the module admin page, where you indicate the parameters for the menu, select Bootstrap = n and CSS menu = y .
cannapedia: im in the menu options and i can not find and option to change
ah
in the module options
sec
chibaguy: right.
cannapedia: nice
chibaguy: things are ok now?
cannapedia: work like it did before, kinda sad though that you cant make sub options with the bootstrap menu, cause i like that you have to click instead of hover, but i really wanna keep my stupid submenus
works great thanks a lot
on an unrelated note
im was getting this error on my registration page "Required features: feature_trackers, feature_ajax, wikiplugin_tracker"
chibaguy: yeah, there have been complaints about Bootstrap menus only being two levels, but the designers think it's better UI to not have more levels.
cannapedia: so i simply turned on tracker, and it went away, whats the deal here
well yeah it IS better UI, but sometimes you still like having the option
chibaguy: Do you have the option "use a tracker to collect additional user information at registration" or something like that, turned on? That's all I can think of.
A lot of sites use three levels in menus, yeah.
I think there's a script to add levels to default Bootstrap menus, but it isn't integrated into Tiki.
cannapedia: just checked, no i dont have that option selected
Tiki-KGB: joined #tikiwiki
chibaguy: Hmm, I don't know, then.
cannapedia: well turning off the tracker makes the error come back so ima just leave it like this for now , but thanks for the helü
p
chibaguy: sure, no problem.
cannapedia: hmm is it normal that i lose all my customized colors and fonts and sizes and stuff after an upgrade?
did the upgrade using softaculous provided by siteground
and i just noticed the font that i had configured has reverted to the defualt font of the tiki-newt template
chibaguy: Where did you configure your font? In the Admin L&F customization tab?
cannapedia: ¨same with the color... had changed it to light green from light blue and now everthing is back to default?... is this normal? shoudlnt the upgrade restore my settings :/
hmm was a long time ago, sec gotta find that menu
chibaguy: Yes, your settings shouldn't have been affected.
Well, if customizations are stored in the database, they should be untouched. If you made a custom CSS file, then it might have gotten lost in the upgrade.
That is, now the themes directory is called "themes"; earlier it was "styles". So if it's a file, then maybe the path is wrong now, or the file needs to be moved.
cannapedia: for fuck sake i cannot find that meu
menu
chibaguy: which menu?
cannapedia: i did not write a custom css, but click through the look and feel wizard where i could set colors in hex i think
chibaguy: I see. Strange that they're missing now. Database content shouldn't have been touched.
cannapedia: ... the migration wizard softacoulus or whatever its called, did get stuck at 15% of "undefined" so i left it for an hour... eventually i just visited the site and it seemed to be done migreating, but do you think maybe it fucked it up x(
?
chibaguy: I guess it's possible. Does your site content seem to be all there, generally speaking?
(And your preferences basically as you had them?)
cannapedia: yeah everthing else seems fine
the only thing that seems to be missing are the customizations i made to the css
chibaguy: Hopefully you can recall what's missing and add it back. I haven't heard of Softaculous messing up like that, but anything's possible.
cannapedia: hmm well i did a full backup right before upgrading, any chance i can re import my settings?
cause i have no friggin clue what i change 3 years ago
width, colors of like everything... damn doing that over would be a pita
chibaguy: One option would be to find the backup of your database and look in the tiki_preferences table, and re-add the rows that are missing in the new database.
I'm not sure if softaculous can revert the whole Tiki and upgrade it again.
cannapedia: hmm everything in the tiki_preferences table seems to be in order
it just refrences the tikinewt.css
...
https://doc.tiki.org/Theme+Generator
theme generator
im pretty sure thats what i used to customize the colors of the tikinewt theme
fuck
i was going crazy over here trying to find that menu and its been removed in tiki 15 :(
so yeah i created a new custom theme with many changes to colors and width and what not... afer upgrade i just have standard tikinewt
anyone know how/where the themegenerator would save those custom themes/css?
aha it right there in the db field
a:3:{s:5:"files";a:1:{s:19:"styles/tikinewt.css";a:9:{s:8:"fgcolors";a:4:{s:7:"#76818e";s:7:"#758c75";s:7:"#8cacbb";s:7:"#71b87e";s:7:"#9eaab4";s:7:"#70ab6d";s:7:"#a9b8c2";s:7:"#8fba93";}s:8:"bgcolors";a:3:{s:7:"#8cacbb";s:7:"#6aba6e";s:7:"#a9b8c2";s:7:"#88bf7e";s:7:"#c7d0d9";s:7:"#c8d9c9";}s:12:"bordercolors";a:0:{}s:12:"borderwidths";a:0:{}s:12:"borderstyles";a:0:{}s:8:"fontsize";a:2:{s:5:"1.2em";s:6:"1.40em";s:5:"2.6em";s:5

fukin mess
so i guess the only thing i can do now is manually try to interpret that jumbled mess transfer it over to the current css...
god damint

Tiki|bot: Recent Bug: - http://dev.tiki.org/item6107
cannapedia: soooo.... i had a custom theme i created with the theme generator in 9.2, now i upgraded to 15.2 and my theme is gone. it changed back to the default theme i based mine on (tikinewt). i changed a lot of stuff, mostly colors, fonts, sizes and im hoping theres a way i can export my old custom theme and reimport into 15.2... is there a way to do this?
rpg: joined #tikiwiki
joined #tikiwiki
cannapedia: i found the value changes in a db backup in the table tiki_preferences saved in the value "themegenerator_theme_cannapedia1", but im not exactly sure how i can turn this into proper css that can be used with tikinewt in 15.2
this is what the content looks like:
a:3:{s:5:"files";a:1:{s:19:"styles/tikinewt.css";a:9:{s:8:"fgcolors";a:4:{s:7:"#76818e";s:7:"#758c75";s:7:"#8cacbb";s:7:"#71b87e";s:7:"#9eaab4";s:7:"#70ab6d";s:7:"#a9b8c2";s:7:"#8fba93";}s:8:"bgcolors";a:3:{s:7:"#8cacbb";s:7:"#6aba6e";s:7:"#a9b8c2";s:7:"#88bf7e";s:7:"#c7d0d9";s:7:"#c8d9c9";}s:12:"bordercolors";a:0:{}s:12:"borderwidths";a:0:{}s:12:"borderstyles";a:0:{}s:8:"fontsize";a:2:{s:5:"1.2em";s:6:"1.40em";s:5:"2.6em";s:5
jonnyb: did bbb just fall over? nelsonko?
sorry cannapedia, theme generator didn't survive the upgrade to bootstrap, you need to use a custom css file of the new custom less preference box

cannapedia: soo looking at that mess above i cant really tell what changes i made, and i cant remember either, was 3 years ago or so.... is there anyway to turn that mess into proper css so i can use it with the custom css feature.... or am i just fucked and have to do everything manually again?
Tiki-KGB: joined #tikiwiki
nelsonko: well stats is off
jonnyb: cannapedia: do you still have access to the old version of the site?
because the easiest way would be to look at the minified css output it's using and copy the customised bit from that - not going to be easy
cannapedia: yes i made a full backup, and i also have a couple old dbs still lying around which still have the custom css part
found this in the old db
a:3:{s:5:"files";a:1:{s:19:"styles/tikinewt.css";a:9:{s:8:"fgcolors";a:4:{s:7:"#76818e";s:7:"#758c75";s:7:"#8cacbb";s:7:"#71b87e";s:7:"#9eaab4";s:7:"#70ab6d";s:7:"#a9b8c2";s:7:"#8fba93";}s:8:"bgcolors";a:3:{s:7:"#8cacbb";s:7:"#6aba6e";s:7:"#a9b8c2";s:7:"#88bf7e";s:7:"#c7d0d9";s:7:"#c8d9c9";}s:12:"bordercolors";a:0:{}s:12:"borderwidths";a:0:{}s:12:"borderstyles";a:0:{}s:8:"fontsize";a:2:{s:5:"1.2em";s:6:"1.40em";s:5:"2.6em";s:5
but i cant really do anything with that... but those are the changes i made and some more
is that what you meant? or how do i get the minified css output?
jonnyb: no, not in the database, in the browser
rpg_: joined #tikiwiki
jonnyb: anyway, there doesn't look like there are too many changes in the themegenerator thing (it's a serialised php array btw) so probably quickest to do it again with custom less. there's an example somewhere which should get you started
any the wiser nelsonko ? need any help testing?
nelsonko: trying to figure out where the slowness is
jonnyb: does seem to be common to database writes... wonder what else we could test/compare?
just tried to save a page on themes.t.o and that was also slow, about 20 seconds - that's on the same server right?
nelsonko: yup
tracker saves are also slow right?
jonnyb: dudn't check that recently but has been bad in the past
yup, pretty slow, so slow i clicked the save button again so a bit hard to tell :)
nelsonko: jonnyb: do you know if minify js is off on dev for a reason?
jonnyb: nothing i'm aware of, should work ok there i would have thought
nelsonko: hmm i thought I had turned off the translation assistant which is a known performance causing issue

nelsonko: turning off tags strangely speeds up trackers somewhat
(even though tags are not used in this tracker)
avoids a join lookup
seems to me there are just too many mysql queries that are causing a general slowdown rather than any one specific issue
and then when the ting bottles up it causes a slowdown for everyone - when the number of open PHP connections reach a limit
jonnyb: hmmm
need to use list more then i guess, nelsonko - been meaning to make a list plugin based "since your last visit" for a long time!
nelsonko: the only thing that is really weird is that saving a tracker takes a long time
(after clicking save).
wiki page saving seems faster to me now , though still takes a while, partly I think is large history table, but I am not sure and I don't want to truncate that
maybe the UI needs a spinner
after the Save is clicked
jonnyb: think you can add a spinner, at least we know it's saving...
jonnyb: for trackers or wiki pages? would be good for both, also to dim and disable the submit button... have tried a couple of times but it always messes something else up
nelsonko: trackers
olinuxx: joined #tikiwiki

jonnyb: well that's odd (in the middle of a client site upgrade ;) ) i just edited the upgrade page on doc and it took 30 seconds to save, i then edited a code plugin nad it saved almost instantly - odd?
the trouble with adding a busy spinner to the tracker save is that if it doesn't validate is needs to cancel it... but i'll try to do it sometime
by the way, i find this very useful for updating live production sites https://doc.tiki.org/tiki-index.php?page_ref_id=3609#Shell_Commands_for_swapping_versions_around
nelsonko: I also feel perhaps I should restart mysql to see if it helps
jonnyb: it works pretty well now (well, perfectly just then)
ok, gulp - i guess now is as good a time as any? :)
i was wondering if we could have a go at setting up the mail queue on doc and dev if you have the credentials for the smtp server?
nelsonko: I don't think I have access, would take me a while to figure it out
jonnyb: ok, just Frank for that one then?
nelsonko: yes
I also increased the cpu of this server...
jonnyb: coo, that should help, thanks! :)
nelsonko: that's all for now I think.
jonnyb: thanks nelsonko
i'm not it's any faster though, just resaved the doc page and it was over 30 secs this time
nelsonko: which doc page?
Upgrade?
INSERT IGNORE INTO `tiki_links` (`fromPage`, `toPage`) VALUES ('Upgrade', 'MultiTiki');
each of these took 3 seconds
jonnyb: yup, that's the one - quite a long page
nelsonko: it shouldn't take 3 seconds to do an insert like that
jonnyb: no, definitely not
also there's only one wikipage link to that one
or was there one insert per linked page?
nelsonko: one insert per linked page
jonnyb: expect that's quite a large table
i wonder if those separate inserts could be all done at once?
nelsonko: not sure if this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9819271/why-is-mysql-innodb-insert-so-slow
maybe we should try one day to convert to myisam to see
jonnyb: mybe we should start a thread on the dev list to see if anyone else has any ideas
been a long day here ;)

this is what im talking about: http://imgur.com/a/9V9wz
fabricius: cannapedia: do you maybe have a slightly bigger screenshot - I mean with a bit more information? It looks like a setting in tiki-admin.php?page=wiki ... a tick box to untick, in case this is besides what to show when displaying a wiki page (like id, name, description, ...)
