jonnyb | HI chibaguy | [11:18]
chibaguy | hi jonnyb. Is that excitement, or caps lock on? ;-) | [11:18]
jonnyb | hmm, keyboard being funny this morning (could be Tuesday excitement thought! :) ) | [11:19]
chibaguy | Do you know if trunk is ok with PHP7? | [11:21]
jonnyb | yup, i think trunk and 15 are ok with php7
trunk maybe slightly more so | [11:24]
chibaguy | My localhost trunk doesn't seem to run any more with php 5 something (it's an old installation but had kept running) so I installed BitNami wamp php7.
Trunk ran ok briefly but now I'm having problems. Also running composer stops cli from working. There's a thread at stackoverflow about this but the solution was to uncomment something in php.ini that's already uncommented for me, so still looking. | [11:25]
.... (idle for 16mn) | |||
Well, there's a problem that the cli php still is reported at 5.5. Maybe due to have two BitNami installations running. | [11:42]
Jyhem | polom | [11:45] | |
jonnyb | pompom Jyhem | [11:46]
chibaguy | hi Jyhem | [11:46]
Jyhem | hi chibaguy. we've been through that in Budapest: try to find which cli php executables are available to you by typing php followed with tabs (for auto-completion) | [11:46]
jonnyb | chibaguy: there's a param in setup.sh now where you can define your path to the php executable, -p i think | [11:46]
chibaguy | ok, great, I'll try those things. | [11:47]
Jyhem | yes, then you can either use that on command line for php scripts like console, or pass it as a param for setup.sh
jonnyb: not the full path, the executable is enough (but it needs to be in the path, though) | [11:47]
jonnyb | chibaguy is on Windows, so maybe that's not supported?
bbl | [11:49] | |
luciash | hey guys! | [11:52]
chibaguy | hi luciash | [11:54]
luciash | chibaguy: yes, windoze, how do you run setup.sh on it?
chibaguy: it failed last time I tried here with Git Bash (something which came with installation of GitHub windoze client) | [11:54]
chibaguy | using command prompt
CMD | [11:55] | |
luciash | wow, does it work for you? | [11:55]
chibaguy | uh, I usually use it for composer updates. I'm not sure if it worked for setup before.
But today I'm getting the php version error in localhost trunk, as it's not finding php 7 Composer update in cmd has been working fine in branches with php5.5 | [11:56]
luciash | it fails on the composer step here for me
setup.sh: line 607: /c/Program: No such file or directory setup.sh: line 610: [: : integer expression expected then it reports "The phar extension is missing." "Install it or recompile php without --disable-phar" | [11:58]
chibaguy | Is that in branch15, on Windows? | [12:02]
luciash | on trunk, win10 | [12:02]
chibaguy | ah. | [12:02] | |
luciash | but i expect same for branch15 | [12:03]
chibaguy | well, in branch15 it goes smoothly for me. | [12:03]
luciash | yes, same error message for 15 | [12:03]
chibaguy | hmm | [12:03] | |
luciash | but it also reports wrong PHP version for me - maybe it is related | [12:04]
chibaguy | maybe so. | [12:05]
luciash | it somehow detects it improperly also... first it says "Local PHP version >= required PHP version 56 - good"
but some lines later in the output it says "Your PHP (5.2.14) is too old, you must upgrade to PHP 5.3.2 or higher." Jyhem: is not there a logic error in the message? | [12:05]
Jyhem | Jyhem is useless on windows issues :-( | [12:06]
luciash | first it says good and then... :-p
i think it reports the same on unixes | [12:06]
Jyhem | Jyhem guesses setup.sh cannot deal with spaces in paths :-( | [12:07]
luciash | first it says version 56 good and then if not good it yells ;) | [12:07]
Jyhem | yes, but it still uses the corrct one on unix | [12:08]
luciash | ah, but that issue with spaces could be easily fixed using "" or backslashes for the spaces probably, no? | [12:08]
Jyhem | Torsten spotted the message issue but he probably never got to doing something about it. | [12:09]
luciash | ah, i see | [12:09]
Jyhem | yes, someone on windows needs to experiment with strategically placed "s | [12:09]
luciash | let me try ;) | [12:10]
Jyhem | the issue with the message being, it's so late in the script it's really hard to figure out what should be printed, depending on wether the magic detection worked, or the correct param was passed, etc | [12:11]
chibaguy | At my hosted account, php for web serving was high enough version but php for the shell was too low and had to be set separately. | [12:13]

Jyhem | well, tiki15 works with php5.5, doesn't it? so why backport? | [15:23]
luciash | someone can have 5.3 as default and 5.6 as an alternative
but not strictly necessary to backport, right | [15:24]
chibaguy | I've had php 5.5.2 for quite a while, but now seem to need newer php for trunk, so I installed bitnami wamp with php7 also. | [15:25]
luciash | chibaguy: so find the path to the bitnami's php7 and it should work | [15:26]

[FIX] structures: Expose link to object permission management for wiki structures to allow object perms - also check structure perm as well as the wiki perm. There's still some overlap/confusion as to where the structure perms are applied so more work required on this i expect (thanks Xavi) | [16:24]
Jyhem | sorry luciash, now that everybody seems unstuck, I'd really like to make progress on my current contract work
maybe tonight I find time for composer.to or show.to | [16:25]
luciash | interesting - is it a new level of permissions? we have global perms, category perms, object perms... where does this slip in? between category perms and object perms?
Jyhem: np, i was just wondering | [16:25]
jonnyb | luciash: you mean in r59822? It's object perms, no new type
the trouble is that structure perms were sort of based on the top page perms so it was confused as to whether we were talkng about page perms or structure ones | [16:26]
luciash | jonnyb: yep, so what happens if you have top parent page in structure with those structure perms and some page inside the structure has own object perms? does it simply ignore the object perms of the wiki page or do they override the structure object perms of the parent page?
yes, i am still confused :) | [16:28]
jonnyb | well the aim was to make structure perms apply to structures and page perms apply to pages (they are different object types) | [16:29]
luciash | ah, so you can still view the page, just not in the structure for example? | [16:30]
jonnyb | it's only edit, lock, watch and admin - view is still per page | [16:33]
luciash | aaah, all right, i was assuming there is some view_structure perm
my bad i hope adding the svn upgrade command to TIM will help to prevent the show issue in the future (it seems fast enough when the svn working copy is up-to-date already) c ya, bbl | [16:34]

ipfreely | those are the only permissions to set yes?
view trackers in both trackers im trying to add an item in wiki, i have set wiki perms to view by anonymous am i missing another permission? | [16:56]
jonnyb | hi ipfreely | [16:58]
ipfreely | hi jonnyb | [16:58]
jonnyb | so can admins or registered see the right thing?
and how are you adding the item link in the wiki page? | [17:00]
ipfreely | hrrm, lemme check registered
admin can see it when logged in lemme check registered, brb | [17:01]
Tiki|bot | New Forum Posts: List plugin tip - http://tiki.org/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?forumId=26&comments_parentId=61347 | [17:03]
ipfreely | ahh
registered cannot see it only admin can see it so registered and annonymous cannot see the link, only admin | [17:03]
jonnyb | what do you mean by "display a list via item link"?
brb | [17:04] | |
ipfreely | tracker A is a registration tracker for students tracker b has course dates that students to choose.
tracker A has a item link field to display the dates in tracker b am i doing something wrong? reading the wiki about item link and item list, it almost seems like im using item link wrong | [17:06]
jonnyb | so this is in a wiki page? | [17:09]
ipfreely | yes
the wiki page has a {tracker} entry to input the data | [17:10]
jonnyb | ah, ok, and the tracker the {tracker} plugin uses has an itemlink field, which appears ok for admins but not ithers... hmm - odd
ithers/others | [17:15]
ipfreely | yes, exactly | [17:15]
jonnyb | how about search permission? ItemLink uses the unified search in some modes, so maybe tiki_p_search is needed? | [17:16]
ipfreely | lemme try | [17:16]
luciash | re | [17:17] | |
ipfreely | i allowed tiki_p_search globally for anonymous to test, no change
am i using item_link field correctly? im gonna go through all the global permissions, see if theres anything thats related somehow thanks guy, if i get stuck, ill come back to you ;) guys | [17:20]
luciash | ipfreely: did you clear your tiki cache already and/or did you try search index rebuild? | [17:28]
Tiki-KGB | 03xavidp r59824 10trunk/templates/tiki-admin_structures.tpl
[FIX]Expose link to structure permissions also to users with tiki_p_admin and not only those with local perm on the specific structure | [17:38]
ipfreely | luciash, no, not yet, but i will try it now, thanks | [17:39]

Jyhem | polom back
Anyone knows what «'legacy_index' => 3,» stands for in lib/core/Tracker/Field/ItemLink.php ?? | [17:57]
jonnyb | Jyhem: yes it was from when LP changed field options from having to be in the same order as a horrible string (like "0,1,itemId" etc) to having proper names so upgrades would work
so it's only for use when upgrading from tiki 11 or whenever that was | [18:02]
xavi | done for the day (probably). c u | [18:05]
Jyhem | jonnyb: but now the field only displays "
Multiple Fields Display the values from multiple fields instead of a single one. " and there is no input field | [18:06]
jonnyb | where? | [18:07] | |
Jyhem | In a Tiki I upgraded from tiki12 to 15
and the drop-down shows a combined label with the value plus the itemId, so I wondered if this was the offending field only the content is not accessible | [18:07]
jonnyb | is the search index working? | [18:09]
Jyhem | rebuilding now
YES!!!! that was it, thanks jonnyb when I edit the field, I can now select from a multiple drop-down of the dields s/dields/fields | [18:11]
jonnyb | :) | [18:14] | |
ipfreely | lol
X2 rebuild search index for me too!!! works now thanks all ;) | [18:15]
jonnyb | woo hoo! yes, lots of tiki doesn't work properly if the search index is unhappy | [18:16]
ipfreely | should i set a crontab for this? | [18:17]
Jyhem | we need a combined clear-caches/rebuild-index console command :) | [18:17]
ipfreely | how often should this be done?
im ashamed to admit mine was from march | [18:18]
Jyhem | Jyhem wonders about nightly index rebuilds also | [18:20]
jonnyb | on busy sites i usually have an overnight index:rebuild cron going, but don't worry about the caches (on some "lower priority sites i also run svnup.sh every hour or so, which does database:update and clears caches too)
Note: that if you do and svn up and the database does need updating it stops tthe index rebuild from working (that got me last week) | [18:31]
ipfreely | how would you guys handle custom events? for example, now that a user has created a item in the tracker, i wanna use the email field in that tracker item to send an email to him as a "confirmation" | [18:34]

Jyhem | I feel there are some places where some reindexing is missing. I wonder if there is a simple way of fixing these things?
Jyhem would settle for "documented way", is "simple way" is too much :) | [18:41]
jonnyb | how do you mean? | [18:42]
Jyhem | Example: http://www.promusa.org/blogpost190-The-workings-and-impact-of-a-world-class-collection uses LIST plugin (youhouuu), and the filter is a gallery_id
when one notices that there is a thumbnail in the gallery, one moves the thumbnail to another gallery to remove it from the LIST But the thumbnail still stays there. But reuploading the thumbnail (not moving it) makes it go away an obvious issue of some reindexing not triggered by moves, but triggered on uploads and I wonder how I could fix that BTW, I believe Benard mentioned such an issue some months ago, when I had not managed to get any of my customers to use LIST yet | [18:43]
lhtseng | joined #tikiwiki | [18:51]
jonnyb | yes, the index needs refreshing but presumably the code to do it is missing
easiest way is to do $tx = TikiDb::get()->begin(); before the move and then $tx->commit(); afterwards (might work?) | [18:53]
Jyhem | $tx being just any var name? | [18:58]
jonnyb | yes, it's an instance of TikiDb
i'm not 100% sure it works with everything but worth a go the old way way to use refresh_index() in lib/search/refresh-functions.php | [18:59]
Jyhem | Thanks, there is a similar issue with changing Item link targets :-( | [19:01]
refizul | joined #tikiwiki | [19:01]
Jyhem | I hope it's not the same thing as running php console.php index:rebuild which takes 2 minutes on that site | [19:02]

[FIX] Fix links to manage structure (object) permissions on the wiki pages that are at the top of the wiki structure (they are internally handled as wiki page object for the box in the structure navigation bar to show up properly with local or category perms). Thanks Jonnyb for your feedback and code tips. Reverting also the addition in tiki_edit_structure.php of struct perms sinc tikiwikie this whole system of handling wiki structure permissions seemed to break previous behavior without upgrade script. | [22:30]
