[10:15] lincolna I see a 16.1 and a 16.0 at https://sourceforge.net/projects/tikiwiki/files/Tiki_16.x_Tabbys/ [10:17] chibaguy lincolna, 16.1 is the newer one, of those two. [10:17] chibaguy recommended [10:18] lincolna just didn't want to end up with a beta/development branch [10:19] chibaguy well, to be safest, the Tiki 15 branch is the long-term support branch. But 16 should be solid and has more feature development. [10:19] lincolna well right now, if you download the version of tiki that tiki.org tells you is the recommended version [10:19] lincolna it immedaitly nags you to upgrade on installation [10:20] lincolna so was hoping somebody could point me in the right direction [10:20] chibaguy I see. [10:21] chibaguy I think the nagging is automatically to the lastest release, maybe. The tiki.org info is probably manually set so there might be a lag. [10:23] chibaguy One thing is that Tiki 16 was released very recently so it isn't promoted immediately, to give some time to confirm the packaging is ok, etc. [10:24] chibaguy But I'd go with 16.1. I'm running it as a development branch and am not having any problems. [10:48] jonnyb joined #tikiwiki [10:49] lincolna found one issue with 16.1 [10:50] lincolna on the setup/settings pages, not getting the mouseover text for all the (i) (?) and (!) [10:51] lincolna hmm, not just that [10:51] lincolna menus aren't expanding [10:51] lincolna seems I broke this install somehow [10:52] chibaguy Try clearing your browser cache and deleting any cookies for that site. [10:52] jonnyb hi lincolna - sounds like probably one big problem :( [10:52] lincolna yeah [10:52] lincolna could well be a browser issue [10:52] jonnyb you ran the updater? [10:52] lincolna just wiped and started again [10:53] lincolna hadn't really done anything with the 15.2 site [10:53] lincolna yeah, dropdowns etc are working with a different browser [10:54] ironwarning joined #tikiwiki [10:54] jonnyb you need to run the updater in either the installer or the shell/console command [10:54] jonnyb ah, sorry - ok, not an upgrade then? [10:54] lincolna no, decided to just delte all tiki files, scrap the databse, do a fresh install with 16.1 [10:54] jonnyb probably browser cache as chibaguy said (hi :) ) [10:54] lincolna yeah, looks like it [10:55] jonnyb delete the cookies as well if it doesn't clear it [10:55] lincolna sorry, silly me [10:55] lincolna forced refresh seems to have solved it [10:55] chibaguy it's easy to miss simple solutions sometimes [10:56] chibaguy hi jonnyb and all [11:45] olinuxx joined #tikiwiki [12:01] Tiki|bot Recent Bug: - http://dev.tiki.org/item6208 [13:02] amette polom [13:03] jonnyb pompom amette [13:03] amette heyho jonnyb [13:04] amette flights are three euros cheaper again today... and "3 left for this price", yesterday it was "2 left" for the higher price... *g* [13:04] amette ... so: it'll work out! :) [13:05] amette and I got dragged into another project today, will take care of the sync2git as soon as I can though! [13:10] jonnyb no worries, thanks :) [13:33] chibaguy There's no daily build for branch 16 on https://dev.tiki.org/Daily+Build . [14:03] chibaguy The toc on https://dev.tiki.org/Tiki16 is kinda strange; first items are 000000 [14:03] chibaguy 222222 [14:03] chibaguy 333333 [14:03] chibaguy 363636 [14:03] chibaguy 555555 [14:03] chibaguy 515151 [14:03] chibaguy 666666 [14:03] chibaguy 737373 [14:03] chibaguy 777777 [14:04] chibaguy which don't link to anything. [14:06] jonnyb it's a bug :( [14:07] chibaguy identified already? [14:10] jonnyb (sry, in a meeting) [14:26] chibaguy Interesting that installing a new Tiki 16.1, after the "(Lock installer and) Enter your Tiki" page, it goes straight to the homepage with no "change the admin password" dialog. Is this intended or a regression? [14:27] chibaguy I'm guessing regression, as of course clicking on a links causes permission error messages. Not a nice intro. [14:29] chibaguy (This was tiki-16.1.7z downloaded and installed on localhost.) [14:31] chibaguy So I go to the log in link and log in with admin/admin and then get the change-password page. I change the password and the first page that displays says " Error [14:31] chibaguy Contact the site administrator. The index needs rebuilding. [14:31] chibaguy " [14:31] chibaguy geez [14:32] jonnyb sorry, got to go - sounds bad... :( [14:32] chibaguy lincolna, are you still around? [14:33] lincolna hi, yeah [14:33] chibaguy I just downloaded and installed tiki 16.1 and didn't think it was especially smooth user experience. [14:33] lincolna I got the admin password change [14:33] chibaguy hm, interesting. [14:33] chibaguy did you get a "rebuild index" message right away? [14:34] lincolna no, not that either [14:34] lincolna seemed pretty much the same experience as the 15.2 install I did yesterday [14:34] lincolna except for the brief confusion at the very start, because I'd forgotton to rerun setup.sh [14:34] chibaguy ok, well i don't know if there was some kind of interference due to several other Tiki sites on my localhost. [14:35] chibaguy but I'm happy to hear it isn't the usual experience. [14:35] lincolna my install is running on a pretty much fresh Ubuntu box [14:35] chibaguy Did you install via command line or through the installer screens? [14:36] lincolna erm, unzip to to root of www/html, run setup.sh, go to tiki-install.php on browser [14:36] lincolna having grabbed the .gz.tar from sourceforge [14:37] lincolna only real issue I've hit so far (sure tehre are more to come) is SEF not working, but suspect that's something I'm doing wrong [14:40] chibaguy About sefurls, be sure _htaccess is renamed to .htaccess . I think this is done as part of setup.sh though. [14:40] lincolna yeah, I checked that one [14:42] chibaguy There's an admin page - tiki-admin.php?page=sefurl&highlight=feature_sefurl to check also. [14:42] chibaguy I thought it wasn't necessary to turn that on, but maybe so. [14:44] lincolna yeah, thats the problem [14:44] lincolna when I turn that on, I get 404s all over [14:46] Tiki-KGB 03kroky6 r60718 10branches/16.x/ 10lib/categories/categlib.php 03lib/core/Search/Formatter/ValueFormatter/Categoryname.php [14:46] Tiki-KGB [ENH] add categoryname formatter for PluginList display parameter to allow category name output in list-style plugins using search index [14:46] chibaguy I get a warning: The RewriteBase directive seems not to be set up correctly. This is required for sefurl to function correctly. [14:46] chibaguy The current value in .htaccess is / but the base url for this site is /Tiki/branches/tiki-16.1/ [14:46] chibaguy Do you think you need to edit the base url in your .htaccess ?
