ok, sites are back
Bsfez: ha ha ha :D
Hi Amette
(just as I figured it out : svn switch https://svn.code.sf.net/p/tikiwiki/code/branches/17.x
amette__: hi Bsfez
Bsfez : you need a period (".") at the end, I gues
s
That is, if you are in the webroot. What I mean is: "svn switch https://svn.code.sf.net/p/tikiwiki/code/branches/17.x webroot/"
Bsfez: haaa... not sure, I did a test on a dev server and it worked. So now the main tiki... we'll see :D
amette__: I'd be very wary.It can go wrong without. It did with the next script, I had to adapt it.
Bsfez: it worked ok without the "."
amette__: Speaking of which: next step, next sites.
Bsfez: but thanks :)
amette__: It won't always. Wait for conflicts or such.
Bsfez: yes yes yes !
next servers ?
amette__: there is only one next server
Bsfez: ok

jonnyb: morning all
Bsfez: Hi Jonny
luciash: morning jonnyb
amette__: what was the culprit? (for the sites down)
-: jonnyb waves
amette__: hi jonnyb
luciash : innodb buffer pool size grew bigger than RAM. I'm a bit surprised that it could happen after such a long time, but apparently there is still some fine more tuning needed.
luciash: ah, indeed
amette__: Bsfez : no, didn't want to talk about them, just fix them
luciash: :D
jonnyb: amette__: sorry i didn't get back to you yesterday, meetings ran into each other all afternoon... then i had to lie down! ;)
amette__: jonnyb : no worries, all good
Bsfez: oh thanks Amette for taking care of next !

jonnyb: was this showing in the login module?

amette_: are the star names documented anywhere?
they aren't even mentioned on the doc pages correlating to versions. I thought somewhere they were mentioned.
and btw: yes, nextdev really works :)
next-doc/themes next
luciash: amette_: great! yeah, we have them somewhere...
amette_: mainly they are here > https://sourceforge.net/projects/tikiwiki/files/
amette_: also https://tiki.org/All+Releases
amette_: luciash : Awesome!! Thanks! :)
luciash: amette_: I see some are missing ;)
amette_: I found the svn, too... but that's not presentable to a normal user.
luciash : right, looks like more people than just us forgot about that page. ;)
luciash: *g*
who are you going to present it to?
(just curious)
amette_: Right now I just came up with it in discussion with a friend, because he sent me a link that Tabby's Star is acting up again in recent days. So I was like "Oh, yeah, did you know that Tiki 16 was named after that star!?" and then looked dumb cause I couldn't prove it... :P
... but having experienced that: it's gonna be handy to know this URL in the next client meeting in which we come to talk about the star names.
luciash: yeah. would be nice if you join us! :)
last time we were just 6 admins there :-p
ah, client meeting, sorry, I thought TRM

luciash: +1! :)
amette_: :)
luciash: have you seen the recording (or a part of it?)?
;)
amette_: no, I haven't... are there good topics in it?
luciash: heheh, they are listed on https://tiki.org/Roundtable+Meeting+2017+05
amette_: Right... I was trying to find that right now...
luciash: you decide if they are good for you ;)
jonnyb: hey woo, https://nextdev.tiki.org/Development is back (but still on trunk sadly)
https://nextdoc.tiki.org still being refreshed...
amette_: ... there seem to be issues with the search there... favouring the devel-list !?
see https://tiki.org/tiki-searchindex.php?filter~content=round+table+meeting
luciash: hey
jonnyb: all the starts are here, btw https://sourceforge.net/p/tikiwiki/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/lib/setup/twversion.class.php
amette_: I had the same problem when searching for the star names... I had lots and lots of mailing list posts instead of wiki pages.
Ok, that's the coder's answer! :)
jonnyb: you can use the facet result pickers on teh right hand side to select wiki pages only
luciash: hmm, when I filter by wiki page, only two results?
object
amette_: luciash : Need to put "roundtable" in one word. :(
jonnyb: brb
luciash: ah, roundtable must be together
amette_: yep
luciash: m-conn :)
amette_: and then it doesn't matter to filter or not
luciash: https://tiki.org/tiki-searchindex.php?filter%7Econtent=roundtable+meeting&filter%7Eobject_type=%22wiki+page%22&filter%7Elanguage=&filter%7Edeep_categories=&filter%7Ecategories=&filter%7Etitle_initial=&filter%7Etitle_firstword=
amette_: yep, yep ;)
sooo... is that a bug report at Elastic.co or at dev.tiki.org !?
Another thing, I just noticed... why do we offer "Stay in SSL mode" on dev.tiki.org? Why don't we just do it by default? I don't think we should have any performance issues by doing SSL all the time.
jonnyb: +1 for ssl always
amette_: apropos performance - am I imagining or is dev.tiki.org leaps and bounds faster than before?
jonnyb: maybe we need to add freetags on those pages with round and table separately
amette_: jonnyb : ok, cool. I'll try and conf that on dev
luciash: +1 for ssl no matter what
amette_: jonnyb : I would have imagined that elasticsearch would be smart enough to find that in one word evem though we enter it with the idiot's space in betwen
luciash : cool! :)
luciash: can be set up in tiki admin only afaik
jonnyb: or maybe we should use two separate words as "roundtable" isn't actually an English word? ;)
luciash: round-table maybe
amette_: Hoooo-ly shit! luciash and I wrote it right.
luciash: we invent Tiki words ;)
jonnyb: :D
amette_: hrhr ;)
luciash: it is allowed ;) http://www.dictionary.com/browse/roundtable
amette_: still I thought elastic would be that smart or what is all that lucene stuff about being smart about people typing and things!? or am I imagining again?
hehe
luciash: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/roundtable
amette_: yeah, I would have thought so too
amette_: apropos performance, if it is fast we do not notice, we notice only when it is sloooow ;)
amette_: luciash : yeah, I know :-/
luciash: amette_: but I do not find it super fast (thanks to piwik)
amette_: I'm running all of MySQL in RAM and everything comes from SSD. Especially the first part works wonders, as far as I can tell.
luciash: (not logged in)
SSD is cool!
amette_: piwik slows it down?
MySQL in RAM is muuuch cooler, believe me!
luciash: initial load of the site it seems to me
amette_: Well, ok, I can live with the initial load (that SSD must be the limiting factor there ;) ).
Or do you mean initial load of piwik.tiki.org ?
luciash: as far as it does not crash I believe you ! ;)
i mean load of dev.tiki.org
amette_: yeah, I'm willing to put more RAM to it, don't worry.
ok, yep, initial loading can take a while for dozens of reasons... mainly because we have dozens of assets to load, that your browser needs to check, if they were modified
Ok, I think now the SSL always thingy works... I couldn't set session_protected to 'y' or it would end in a redirect loop, but looks, like I'm not in HTTPs always. Let's see how this works out.
And regarding performance: click on a tracker item, try go making a tea, you won't get up from your seat before it has loaded.
Listing all tracker items is the most painful thing and it's still bearable.

Hi, group. New to TW and could use some advice about site navigation. Can anybody advise if it's possible to use the TOC for a structure as navigation for the wiki so that users see that on my home page?
thanks in advance for any insight.
I am thinking that what I need to do is make a menu module that refers to the structure TOC. If that's possible.

jonnyb: hi quirkymcardle, welcome to Tiki! :)
short answer, yes - stick a menu module where you want it (often in the toppbar zone) and set the structure id in the module properties
probably more info on here: https://doc.tiki.org/Structure+User (i have to go now, see you next time!)
