Hi, how can I debug the permission system? I'm currently upgrading a very old tiki instance, and when I log into the upgraded instance as 'admin', I receive "You do not have permission to use this feature: tiki_p_admin". dpetikiwiki: joined #tikiwiki
How tell what version of tiki wiki my site is? tiki wiki site created in 2011.
don't see where I go to update the version of my site. went to cpanel, public files. my site is hosted remotely.
blogs that are not mine show up on site. How do I delete them? Tiki-KGB: 03rjsmelo r63474 10trunk/ 10templates/search/rebuild.tpl 10lib/core/Tiki/Command/IndexRebuildCommand.php 10lib/core/Services/Search/Controller.php 10lib/search/searchlib-unified.php * [NEW] Report unified index engine and version when rebuilding the index xavi1: joined #tikiwiki Tiki|bot: Recent Bug: - http://dev.tiki.org/item6422 xavi1: dpetikiwiki: you can see that when logging in and going to "Admin home > General", it should say there the tiki version you are using
@OBrien : there was some issue with upgrading from old instances of Tiki, which seemed to upgrade defective the permissions from the admin users. A workaround was made years ago to prevent issues from that rare case when happening (which seems to be your case). Run the tiki-install.php process again, and at the last steps of the installer, you will be offered the chance to re-grant admin perms to your admin user, or something like that (afair) OBrien: joined #tikiwiki Tiki-KGB: 03xavidp r63475 10trunk/templates/wizard/upgrade_new_in_18.tpl * [FIX]add info on new plugin improved in Tiki18 dpetikiwiki: forgive me for having trouble. someone set this up for me and now is gone. dpe.electronic-boardroom.com is a tiki wiki subdomain and rest of sites are all wordpress.
are the other people's non-authroized blogs taking up space on my server and how do I get rid of them? xavi1: dpetikiwiki: first, ensure that you use an up-to-date version of tiki. Upgrade to the lastest suported minor version of your Tiki main version
and if you didn't install those wordpress, then get rid of them? (If I understand properly what your issue is). But you should be sure that you are using a supported tiki version and upgraded to the latest minor version. If you were using a very old tiki version for too long, in theory someone could have touched your code and add some other stuff in your server space.
dpetikiwiki: see https://doc.tiki.org/Upgrade
get at least Tiki 15 LTS, which will stay for a while (since it's the latest Long Term Support, receiving security patches, etc) dpetikiwiki: i logged into dpe.electronic-boardroom.com/wp-admin. clicking on admin did not have a general tab so I did not see any version # but it was setup in 2011.
i found the spam blogs but if I try to edit and delete them, get message:
If you go to edit this (or any other TPL file) file via the Tiki built-in TPL editor below, all the javascript can be sanitized or completely stripped out by Tiki security filtering. This would cause you problems (e.g. menus can stop collapsing/expanding).
I am afraid in trying to do this myself, I'll mess everything up. Is there someone who can help me? xavi1: dpetikiwiki: login in http://dpe.electronic-boardroom.com with your tiki admin user and pass, not the wordpress one
to see the control panels in Tiki ("Admin > Home", from the side menu, in that old version of Tiki)
you can always get a consultant to help you, of course: https://tiki.org/Consultants
ah, I see the blogs created by spammers. if it's only that, it might not be that bad, you can delete the blogs as tiki admin, and change perms (maybe it's just a confiuration permission issue?)
but for sure, upgrade to Tiki15 LTS
dpetikiwiki: I?ve just registered to your site, as user xavi@tiki.org. I don't have much time, but I have help you (I have 15' at the most)
I can have a look to assess how bad (if bad) the situation is. and delete the spam, change perms (if needed) to suite yourneeds, etc dpetikiwiki: yes please help god bless you xavi1: oh well, I'm not receiving the email to validate
I can't login
mmm
I didn't receive the validation email, but I received an email from your tiki (friendship network)
aha, validation link received, good giesen_: joined #tikiwiki lhtseng: joined #tikiwiki xavi1: left #tikiwiki fleg[m]: joined #tikiwiki fabricius: joined #tikiwiki arildb: joined #tikiwiki
