hi all, not sure when is the best time to ask something.. but I will try it again:
hi, I am fighting with file galleries.. after some time of using tiki I lost the ability to insert image to blog post.. now instead of inserting the image the browser download dialog appears.. any thoughts why this happens and what to check?
that is when I hover over image in gallery the popup is shown with "Download" instead of "Click to insert picture..."
this is in tiki 17.1, nginx, mysql.. I checked the code.. but I was lost in the smarty templates.. not sure where is the logic for that fabricius: polom
Hi nayana
there are different times depening on the weekday or the season Bsfez: joined #tikiwiki nayana: moloq :P fabricius: what Tiki version you refer to old an new?
h 17.1 Bsfez: hello fabricus, nayana fabricius: hello Bsfez nayana: hmm.. I am not sure .. its 17.1 - is there any subversion? fabricius: nah
not sure about NGINXS ... I never worked on that one, but likely not related with your issue nayana: yeah.. because everything worked fine fabricius: the upload dialog changed (further developped) over time nayana: unfortunately I do not remember what was I setting in settings.. but I wasnt doing any hacks with db or anything fabricius: maybe asking jonnyb for details to that - he is here regularly (not now) nayana: ok.. I am willing to debug this.. but I have no idea where to start fabricius: But the >> popup is shown with "Download" instead of "Click to insert picture..." << I think is a configuration issue nayana: hmm fabricius: Jonny will tell you nayana: ok, thanks fabricius: I am sure
but you should make sure to exclude a configuration issue first
you could aswell create a show instance
at the wishlist/bugtracker
just to confirm the bug/config question nayana: whats the show instance? fabricius: when you create a bu report or a wish, you have the option (post creation) to auto create a show instance of a Tiki of a certain version with a button on the bug reports tracker item.
that triggers the installation of a virtual instance and after 2 minutes or so you have a Tiki to test allocated to the tracker tem of the bug report nayana: thats quite cool fabricius: and the devs can review after you confirmed a bug (or not ;-) ) with some example data
and download the data base
show instances are mainly used for two things:
1. demonstrating and reproducing bugs (or finding it was configuration)
2. demonstrating setups for any kind of community projects
limitations: no access to the file system by 99% of the users and admins
so usually a few things cannot be tested, even it is possible an rare exceptions. nayana: hm.. but when the problem is combination of the fact that the files are in filesystem (which you said cannot be tested) and configuration?
I mean the pictures are in file system..
I think it was working when files were in database fabricius: joined #tikiwiki nayana: fabricius: I forgot one thing.. the image editing dialogue (when double clicked image in blog post) does not work.. so probably its more than misconfiguration
the dialogue is not constructed.. its just small white line on the top of the screen
anyway I will try to talk to jonny and the bug issue.. robertokir: joined #tikiwiki chibaguy: joined #tikiwiki
polom Bsfez: Hello Gary chibaguy: Hi Bernard jonnyb: joined #tikiwiki Bsfez: Thanks for the help about the arrow for the calendar module chibaguy: Sure. I haven't had a chance to look at the calendar overall yet. Bsfez: as I wrote in devlist it require a deeper work to remove all the inline style there... not for t18 chibaguy: Another weird thing, when I make a new calendar and input the text for its description, there seems to be a couple of lines in the description textarea already used. My first character is in the middle of the box. ??
I can highlight the empty lines with my mouse. fabricius: joined #tikiwiki Bsfez: mmmm I think I saw something weird there too but I didn't really check chibaguy: To be more precise, there are 13 tabs between the beginning of the textarea and where my first character appears.
strange
When turning on the calendar feature, there used to be an option "use Full Calendar" IIRC. Is that now the default (so no choice any more)?
In other words, there were two calendar front ends to choose from, if I recall.
The inline "font-size: 11px" should also be removed, IMO.
No need for people to go blind reading the dates. -: chibaguy recalls The Forger in The Great Escape movie.... nayana: hi jonnyb, fabricius advised me to talk to you regarding inseting images from file gallery to blog post jonnyb: hi nayana (polom)
sorry, snowed under today, tomorrow maybe?
can anyone else help? nayana: This is my problem:
tiki 17.1, nginx, mysql
After some time of using tiki (so at the beginning it worked fine) I lost the ability to insert image to blog post.. now instead of inserting the image the browser download dialog appears.. any thoughts why this happens and what to check?
That is when I hover over image in gallery the popup is shown with "Download" instead of "Click to insert picture..."
ah ok sure :) Bsfez: Chibaguy, yes I added a "bold" rule about this but we should have something very eye catchy
nayana did you open a ticket at : dev.tiki.org ? (there you can create an instance and see if you can reproduce)
(I added on the Tiki I use) chibaguy: Bsfez, I just committed change to remove the inline 11px font size. For sure the Bootstrap 3 -> 4 will be a good time to rework the calendar layout. nayana: Bsfez: I am waiting for registration email :) Bsfez: good, it will easier for other to help
thanks chibaguy chibaguy: nayana, I validated your registration a few hours ago. Not sure why the delay in your getting the email. nayana: oh.. I had to click on Spam and only then it refreshed the dir in thunderbird :D thanks chibaguy: nayana, so you are using the standard wiki editor for blog posts, and so you click the icon for adding an image. Are you using Elfinder, or the standard file gallery view?
(With Elfinder, I don't know how to select an image to use in a blog post, etc., either. There's no obvious way IMO.) nayana: yeah I think everything is standard.. I havent installed any editor or Elfinder chibaguy: Well, Elfinder is installed by default; it just has to be activated/set as default front end for galleries.
Ok, so when you click on the image icon in the blog post editor, you get a popup dialog titled "Upload file" that has a browse galleries button.
Then you can click that to go the galleries. If you hover over the image name, there should be a tooltip that use "click here to use the file".
(I'm seeing a list view of the files.)
Clicking the file name should insert the image syntax in the blog post.
That's working ok in my local Tiki 18 installation. nayana: chibaguy: yeah it was working like this.. but now instead the "click here.." I see only "Download"
I turned off the add block as well..
and tried playing with settings (reverting stuff to defaults).. but nothing helped chibaguy: Strange. What Tiki version are you using? nayana: I am making the bug with screenshot
17.1 chibaguy: Ok, thanks. fabricius: joined #tikiwiki chibaguy: (Off topic, but I'm really happy files can be searched for by ID number now, in Tiki 18 - before, it could be impossible to find a file when you only know its ID in wikitext.) Jyhem: polom chibaguy: (Such as if you want to update an image used in wikitext.) Jyhem: +1 chibaguy! chibaguy: Hi Jyhem. Yeah, I need to update some old screenshots, but wanted to update a new file version rather than adding a new file and editing the ID in the text.
So a big improvement.
nayana, I just tested in Tiki 17 and the procedure seems to work ok here, same as in Tiki 18.
So maybe a configure issue at your site? nayana: chibaguy: yeah it worked for me too.. for some time, like few hours
yes, probably..
I will make the "show instance" and try to trigger it there
but not sure if I can test the file galleries there (with files in directory) chibaguy: So you're definitely clicking on the file name, not on the wrench icon? nayana: yeah, when I hover over the file name it says "Download" chibaguy: Hmm. I guess somebody could check the gallery template, etc. and see what condition causes that to display on hover. nayana: I was checking some templates.. but I was totally lost.. the "Download" is constructed in totally different template than "click to insert.."
I submitted bug 6524 with images etc chibaguy: Ok, thanks.
Bsfez, have you tried FullCalendar? The UI changes we made are on the legacy calendar interface. (I didn't find Full
(I didn't find FullCalendar right away because I used a space in the name, in the search.) Bsfez: as I'm on the updating old tikis to 18 side ,no I just check regressions chibaguy: Apparently it's the one we should probably be focusing on, according to Marc's post a few minutes ago on the dev list.
It has a cleaner interface (created this decade ;-) ). Tiki|bot: Recent Bug: - http://dev.tiki.org/item6524
Recent Bug: - http://dev.tiki.org/item6525 jonnyb: sorry, but can someone idiot check this for me please - in https://sourceforge.net/p/tikiwiki/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/templates/prefs/ the file shared-flags.tpl seems to be missing, but i can't find the commit that did it and it's causing a tree conflict in the merge from 18.x
found it http://sourceforge.net/p/tikiwiki/code/65026 (guess who) Bsfez: (you were too fast ;) ... was on my way to update trunk here) torsten1: joined #tikiwiki amette_: left #tikiwiki

Which instance would that be?
ok, only one nayana show instance. nayana-11897-6524 now has .htaccess ad you can enable sefurls nayana: thanks chibaguy: Hi Bsfez. Was away. Bsfez: All good send you an email about another base we should change :)
(survey question label)
send/sent nayana: Jyhem: well I get apache's window "Not Found" for example for "/HomePage" chibaguy: Bsfez, ok, I see it and will make the change. nayana: oh my .. I found out what is the problem with file galleries.. when I disable the SEF URL on my tiki it works again .. but well I would like to use that feature Tiki|bot: Recent Bug: - http://dev.tiki.org/item6526 nayana: is anybody used to running tiki on nginx and using SEF URLs? luciash: nayana: each gallery can have own syntax to insert the images... perhaps you can change that to use displayXX instead of dlXX (where XX is the file ID) as a workaround (displayXX should not force you to download the file) - it is in editing properties of each gallery nayana: luciash: interesting.. will give it a try Jyhem_laptop: joined #tikiwiki luciash: nayana: not me, but dev.tiki.org is running on nginx iirc so it must be working ;) zlinux: joined #tikiwiki nayana: luciash: sure.. it was working for me.. but when I enabled SEF URL it stopped working.. and besides I run nginx.. so this may be different
ah you said it is using nginx :P I misread Bsfez: joined #tikiwiki
nayana, great you found how to reproduce. dev.tiki.org you can also make your wish for improvement :) Jyhem: nayana: sorry, I only half did it.
