looks like we have lost syntax highlighting (codemirror) for Tiki syntax on tiki.org (yummy dogfood)
shows null if I want to choose some mode from the "Change Highlighter" button when editing a page
oh, after page reload it is back working fine again! :-o
all good :)

hi robertokir - i see the version change commit for 18.0 beta, are you chatting and releasing somewhere? (sorry, nightmare morning)
robertokir: polom jonny
luis_asa: joined #tikiwiki
robertokir: Luis and I are doing it together
luis_asa: hey!
jonnyb: coolio, hi luis_asa - well done, let me know if i can help
luis_asa: ok!
jonnyb: i managed to do the composer lib updates, well most of them, this morning, better than nothing :)
robertokir: great!

Good day, I am new to the chat, but I have been using tiki at work for about 2 years now.
juststrollingin: they always run, don't they? :[15:30] jonnyb repolom
jonnyb: indeed juststrollingin (hi!) Hopefully he'll try again another day...
juststrollingin: polom'
He probably will, jonnyb. Do you know how it is going with Tiki 18?
jonnyb: Looks like luis_asa and robertokir have got to the tag release bit for 18.0 beta, so that sould be ready for some testing very soon
luis_asa: hey!
robertokir: you read our minds
jonnyb: hey! :)
juststrollingin: nice!
luis_asa: we just made the packages at release@release.tiki.org, but the scp to sourceforge is not working
jonnyb: let us know when there are some tarballs for testing...
luis_asa: our target date for 18.0 final is next Round Table Meeting, on Jan 18th.
jonnyb: ah, it's a weird one that - there used to be a release technician role that was allowed to do that but i think it's only admin now
luis_asa: jonny: can you give me enought privileges? or just log there and do the scp please
jonnyb: i don't see 18.0beta on https://release.tiki.org/download/ (we could be testing them from there while we work this out, could you cp them there? pls?)
luis_asa: jonnyb: I can't. They're at release@release.tiki.org:~/tikipack/18.0.beta/, and the command scp tiki-18.0.beta.* lfagundes@frs.sourceforge.net:uploads will give following error:
scp: uploads: No such file or directory
jonnyb: you need the full uri to the right directory on sf, let me see if i can work it out
luis_asa: ok, then we update the How to release page properly
jonnyb: looks correct to me - at lfagundes) (no /uploads path)
correction, looks ok at https://dev.tiki.org/How+to+release#Upload_tarballs_to_Sourceforge
:)
i made a new dir for it at sftp://frs.sourceforge.net//home/pfs/project/t/ti/tikiwiki/Tiki_18.x_Alcyone/18.0beta
luis_asa: https://release.tiki.org/download/18.0.beta/
files are there
jonnyb: super thanks luis_asa - i got the bz2 one :)
luis_asa: ok, copying files. instructions I got came from release.php script
jonnyb: aha, yes, that quite possibly need updating, ta
luis_asa: maybe we announce this link at release.tiki.org in devel mailing list and wait a couple of hours before uploading to SF?
jonnyb: i think we can do it here, probably no one on the list would help :(
tiki-18.0.beta.tar.bz2 unpacked fine
luis_asa: okay
jonnyb: setup.sh ran fine
tiki-install.php ran fine (in French just to be awkward ;) ) and my tiki looks fine - bz2 package seems ready to go! :)
anyone else around to help test? :P
luis_asa: jonnyb: just updated the release.php to give proper instructions
jonnyb: thanks
juststrollingin: jonnyb I could try tonight when i get home
jonnyb: thanks juststrollingin
juststrollingin: this is php7 then right?
luis_asa: jonnyb: I guess we can upload to sf.net and call it a beta release
jonnyb: luis_asa and robertokir i think it should be fine, can you chack a couple of the other packages unpack ok at least then scp to sf.net
luis_asa: ok
jonnyb: yes, go for it, if the bz2 is ok the other should be fine too
juststrollingin: sorry to be supern00b around you guys, but it will be just some lemp server with php7?
jonnyb: and are you on the case to do https://dev.tiki.org/How+to+release#Update_lib_setup_twversion.class.php_after_the_release luis_asa? (also a merge to trunk and clear the version file conflict is usually nice to do to :) )
juststrollingin: might be instructions in the package i assume
luis_asa: jonnyb: okay, I'll do that
jonnyb: juststrollingin: tiki 18 is happy with php 5.6 upwards, fine on 7.0 and 7.1 but i haven't tried it on 7.2 yet
juststrollingin: jonnyb I am so excited about this. I will do some boring default 7.1 I though
jonnyb: :)

robertokir: jonnyb, I've tested the other 3 tarballs, targz, zip and 7z. They all install fine. Only thing I notice is that just after installing I'm asked to reindex, I don't recall if that's normal.
I have to leave now, whoever comes back first, luis_asa or me, will scp to sf.net
jonnyb: thanks robertokir - nice and thorough! :) i think the re-inxeding thing is correct, we did have a report that it was casuing some trouble with 17.0 but i think it ended up being fine
great, thanks both!

(I am justtrollingin) jonnyB installed tiki18beta on a lemp server with php7.0fpm innodb and it works! I got a "504" during the tiki installer(at the database phase) but it seems to work sofar.
robertokir: joined #tikiwiki
jonnyb: thanks kotten - wonder what the 504 was, but if you got through it that's good (for a beta), well done and thanks robertokir and luis_asa
i'm off for the day now, so more TikiFun tomorrow! :)
