mosehey hey luci [10:37]
luciashheya mose! how are you? :) [10:40]
mosenot younger, that's for sure hahaha [10:41]
luciash:D
i just woke up from dead - was lying in bed since last thursday with flu :-p
[10:41]
moseoh, I just woke up from dead too, I slept during 10 years not using tiki much [10:42]
luciashlol, yeah, I noticed you are poloming back since last week or too - just checking here from nostalgia? or do you plan to re-joice again? :) [10:44]
mosewell [10:44]
luciashs/or too/or two/ [10:44]
moseI'm in charge of a tiki for an active community
at some point, I may have to contribute again in small proportion
[10:44]
luciashcoolio [10:45]
mosebut I lost my svn access [10:45]
luciashoh, how come? :-o [10:45]
mosemy sf account is not in members anymore
somehow
no idea why
[10:45]
luciashstrange
I can re-add you for sure
[10:45]
mosethat can be cool, in case of
I checked the list, there is a lot of old accounts in there
many inactive people are making it like a ghost town hahaha
[10:46]
luciash*g* [10:47]
mosemaybe I had myself removed on my own choice, that would be something I'm able to do [10:47]
luciashyeah, maybe, that would explain it
i do not recall any discussion about removing you
[10:48]
mosethat's old
there is no fun investigating it :)
[10:48]
luciashand no biggie I would say... you can be back in a minute [10:49]
mosebtw I don't know if you heard, I work at bitnami now
I'm surrounded by docker images and clouds
[10:49]
luciashoh, nope, cool! :) [10:50]
mosetiki runs fine in docker for dev that's convenient [10:50]
luciashdo they have a hq in taiwan? [10:51]
moseno they are in Seville, spain
I'm a remote work-at-home type of guy
no pants required
[10:51]
luciash:)
great that they offer that - most companies wants you to sit in a cubicle or slide their slides
[10:51]
mosewell, there is a shortage of skilled senior people, so more and more companies have to cope with remote setup
I tried some local jobs here where I live in Taiwan
but thos asian love their cublicle too much
[10:53]
luciashmose: added you back to developers on sf.net [10:54]
moseoh cool thanks
should we not do some kind of small ceremonial?
[10:55]
luciashlol :D [10:55]
moseyou know I love those hahaha [10:55]
luciashDo you still agree to the 3Rules? ;) [10:55]
mosehmm, what are they?
hahaha
[10:56]
luciashluciash puts his ceremony hat on [10:56]
mosewoohoooo
mose puts his noob pants on
[10:56]
luciashmose: I suppose they did not change throughout the years you were absent ;) [10:57]
mosethe benefit of very simple words [10:57]
luciashhttps://dev.tiki.org/3-Rules
btw sf.net was playing with our nerves last week or so :( (lot of downtimes)
[10:57]
moseyeah I saw that
I also heard the debate to move to git is still live
[10:59]
luciashso we could not "commit early, commit often" :-p
yup yup
[10:59]
moseoh there is still a quote of me in the verbose mode
a caution about caution, sounds like something I would say
[11:00]
luciashjonny seems fed up with sf.net already too - and he was the last one a year ago who was not keen to move much to Git yet
we will see how it evolves/unfolds
heheh
interestingly, for all the developers on sf.net it says they have only "Read" permission - but that must be some misinformation I guess - it surely works for Write access too
[11:00]
zlinuxjoined #tikiwiki [11:03]
luciashso anyway, welcome back mose! at least here on the good old (still alive) irc! :) [11:04]
moseyeah that's crazy, you guys are like frozen in time
now people they are on github and use slack
[11:04]
luciashluciash considers it a bit ridiculous and puts his ceremony hat off again ;) [11:05]
mosehahaha
well, I am on various slack groups, but my irc is still open
[11:05]
luciashI tried slack but never found it very useful - so I have it, but do not use it at all [11:06]
mosewhen you don't use tools like znc or have irc in a screen session, slack makes possible to just see what you missed when you get back on it
that's the main point
[11:14]
luciashyeah, that makes sense, but I have screen and irssi for that... and I presume Slack does not run from cli [11:19]
moseno it doesnt
you can use gateways but that's not the point
[11:20]

Hi all
[12:22]
jonnybok, seems there are no new files on sf.net so i guess they're not quite released...
hi Arunrf
[12:22]
ArunrfGetting very frustrated with toolbars in the editor.... what I sent in Admin Toolbars just isnt what appears
trying to get a basic spellchecker icon there but just wont appear
cant find a decent guide on setting up the toolbars
any pointers?
[12:23]
jonnybsorry Arunrf - not that i know of
you probably are setting the toolbars for one section and looking for it in another? maybe?
[12:25]
Arunrfwhen an icon is shown on a menu in Admin toolbars whoulsnt it then just show in the editor [12:25]
jonnybsorry, have to go... [12:25]
Arunrfok no worries [12:25]
jonnybah, there are differences in the icon for wiki and wysiwyg editors [12:26]
Arunrfyes...im using WYSIWYG [12:27]
moseand if you have html enabled or not [12:27]
Arunrfbut what I have set up in admin toolbars is different from what I see in the editor [12:27]
mosethere are different toolbars in both cases [12:27]
Arunrfmany icons missing [12:27]
mosedo you have htl enabled?
html
[12:27]
Arunrfjust chckinh
checkinh
[12:27]
moseon top you have 2 wysiwyg options, html mode or wiki mode [12:28]
Arunrfwhere is that set?
got it....i have WIKI and WYSIWYG set
in view mode
If i change section Wiki Pages to WYSIWYG HTML mode it makes no difference
Section Global is already in WYSIWYG HTML mode
[12:28]
.... (idle for 19mn)
I see there is no Spellcheck plugin in the plugin list..... has that been deprecated and the reason why it doesnt appear on the too9lbars [12:53]
Tiki|botRecent Bug: - http://dev.tiki.org/item6590-Structure-does-not-save-changes-on-15-5 [12:58]
luciashArunrf: probably so :-/ iirc the spellchecker was removed in favor of bro's builtin spellcheckers
s/bro/browser/
:D
[12:59]
Arunrfwhere do i find that luciash
and how do i enable it in tiki?
I tried the browser spellcheckers but they dont seem to check within the editor dialogue box
[13:01]
luciashArunrf: ah, really? ah, maybe because it is wysiwyg and not a normal textarea... i see :( [13:03]
Arunrfyou mean a wiki text area? [13:03]
luciashyep [13:03]
ArunrfThat seems very limiting so thats why I have added wysiwyg
sees like a basic function to have in a wiki!
[13:03]
luciashI would suggest try looking for your browser add-on/extension which would do spellchecking in wysiwyg - maybe there is something for the CKEditor (which is wysiwyg editor Tiki is using)
spellchecker is never basic function
imo
[13:05]
Arunrfi mean a basic function to have in a text editor or word proecssing package [13:07]
Jyhempolom
hi mose, welcome back ! :-)
[13:09]
mosehey Jyhem [13:10]
luciashArunrf: I suppose you have read this page: https://doc.tiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=Spellcheck&redirectpage=SpellChecker [13:11]
ArunrfThanks i saw that, it says This feature is no longer supported or relevant because browsers now have spellchecking, and that's where it should be handled. You can add grammar checking to Firefox with http://www.afterthedeadline.com/
but Browser spellchecking doesnt work
ive just testes with Firefox and Chrome
[13:11]
JyhemStill in Taiwan ? We set up a nice event in Strasbourg in july https://2018.rmll.info/
(soon translated in english, I'm told)
[13:12]
moseyeah that's 10 years this month I live there [13:12]
JyhemOhh, celebration? [13:12]
moseI never been big adept of time-cycle based celebrations
that's actually 3652 days
[13:13]
Jyhemok, still impressing [13:14]
moseI'm asian now, my eyes begin to become smaller, my nose reduces [13:14]
luciash:D [13:15]
mosenah that's a myth, I'm still having a huge nose
locals call us dabizeu
[13:15]
Jyhemdoes it mean "big nose" ? [13:16]
moseprecisely [13:17]
JyhemBetter than ghosts, I suppose? [13:17]
mosethe ghost name if given in Hong-Kong only [13:17]
luciashArunrf: all I can suggest now is you click the "Source" button in the toolbar and there the browser spellchecking will work... [13:18]
JyhemAhhh. Migt have happened to Marc, then [13:19]
mosethe most common name is laowai though [13:21]
JyhemArunrf: spellchecking depends on language, so it's not really easy to provide at the editor level for open-source editors which are used all over the world. Whereas the browser is installed locally on a computer which might know which is your preferred languages [13:21]
mosemeans old-foreigner (in a respectful way of the old word) [13:21]
Arunrfyes, and I have the laguages installed in the browsers, but they dont seem to work within the Wiki editor windows [13:22]
luciashArunrf: you said Wysiwyg before [13:22]
ArunrfOddly i am changing the settings betweeen Wiki only and wysiwyg HTML and WIKI/Wysiwyg for glocal, admin and wiki and the toolbars dont seem to change [13:23]
JyhemJyhem needs to get food. see you guys later [13:23]
luciashArunrf: it works for me with other icons than spellcheck [13:25]
Arunrfdo you mean your browser spell checker works when in wiki mode only ( ie not wysiwyg )? [13:26]
luciashyes
i mean that too
[13:26]
Arunrflol
what did you mean before - that swiucthing between modes changes the toolbars?
[13:26]
luciashbut i meant that if i drag and drop an icon to the toolbar in the toolbars admin and then clcik save button it works for me
i can see the added icon in my toolbars then
for example the bgcolor one
[13:26]
Arunrfi changes everything to wiki mode and saves and nothing changed- i logged out and in adain as admin and the change to wiki had not saved
odd
[13:27]
luciashi test this on tiki trunk, what version do you have? [13:28]
ArunrfI think its 18 but where do I check [13:30]
luciashSettings > Control Panels > General [13:31]
ArunrfNO its 17.1 [13:31]
luciashI am pretty sure it saves toolbars in 17.x as well [13:32]
luis_asajoined #tikiwiki [13:34]
luciashyup, it works [13:36]
ArunrfI'll try a few more tests later thanks for your help
byw
[13:36]
luciashhttps://demo.luciash.eu/tiki17x/Wysiwyg%2BTest [13:37]
Arunrfwhats the different between Global and Wiki pages sections in toolbars - if Wiki Page is different to Global whioch takes priority [13:37]
luciashwiki page is in wiki pages only, global is all editable textareas [13:37]
Arunrfand when I change the view mode to something different that aplies to all sections not just the section displayed - is that correct
So Wiki pages will always only show the Wiki toolbar even if global is different
[13:38]
luciashif you modified wiki tollbars then I guess that one will show instead of global
try dragging the bgcolor icon and save
that test worked for me
it shows in both, wysiwyg and wiki toolbars view mode too
[13:39]
Arunrf: please also read https://docs.ckeditor.com/ckeditor4/latest/guide/dev_spellcheck.html [13:48]
Arunrfgreat thanks I'll go through that
How do I add CKeditor plugins?
[13:50]
luciashArunrf: that is out of my scope, sorry [13:58]
Arunrfno probs i'll research, thanks for the link [13:58]
