ok, so R is working, but plugin r still gives " Plugin R/RR: Cached file does not exist" on any page I put it on
even when I change the advanced settings nto not bother with a cache

running an Ubuntu 16.04 LAMP stack with Tiki 18.1
hmm, not sure why I thought I was running Tiki 19 yesterday, clearly wasn't paying attention
so I'd enabled plugin R but it wasn't installed?! hmm, seems odd Jyhem: sorry lincolna, no time today. Do you think you could enter a bug on dev.tiki.org and reproduce the issue on a Tiki18 "show" instance? lincolna: I suspect its something with my setup rather than a bug per se
ok, so fun fact - if I uninstall R from the system, same error still
so it's like Tiki is not finding my R install? fabricius: joined #tikiwiki seamymsg: joined #tikiwiki lincolna: is there something I need to do to point Tiki towards it? fabricius: joined #tikiwiki marclaporte: joined #tikiwiki Jyhem: lincolna: as I mentioned, I will be away for the day, but I am interested in looking this up tomorrow afternoon if you are available. lincolna: probably
as said,I tihink its a setup issue, not a bug
but have basehd my head against it for long enough now
but have bashed my head against it for long enough now
I'm not really prepared to set up another tiki install for this mind
interestingly, I tried applying the "r_test" profile, but that doesn't work either
Oh wow, the mathematical calculation tracker field's syntax is gibberish
Or maybe it isn't, but the examples given in the docs simply don't work marclaporte: joined #tikiwiki lincolna: the example says "(tracker-field
(object type object-id)
(field priority)
)"
should return the contents of that field
but what it actually returns is "Variable not found "type"."
and turns out I didn't need that anyway fabricius: polom
hi lincolna, yesterday I just wanted to know wether you are more into R or more into Tiki, as I have nearly no knowledge of R but am interested to use R in a Tiki project.
lincolna: I am working with tracker field mathematical calculation and it works. Anyway it is partly limited to either numeric fields data or numbers of dropdown/multiselect. It cannot calculate numbers from static text field (static text is not considered as number) ... I need it to calculate the price of a conference based on partipants type lincolna: fabricius - later realised I could use stuff from that tracker without using the ludciorusly complicated syntax
anyway, never really used R before, but wanted to plot some stuff from a tracker
and pluginR seemed to be the only real option
and having R available on the wiki is nobad thing fabricius: lincolna: *as far as I know* you need an R server installed on the same machine as where Tiki is installed and R servers do not run on average shared hosting. The R calculation runs on the R server whilst the display runs in Tiki with R plugins interlinked to that server. lincolna: I've got R installed fabricius: ok lincolna: but it's not working. The fact that I get the same error with and without R installed is interesting fabricius: Then maybe one day I might come back to you when I have some beginners question about how to get R server running, given i have an adequate machine (ex. a Docker in the Hetzner cloud) ...
... maybe you missed how to connect the R plugin to the server? Did you find the R documentation of Tiki? Xavi from Spain worked a lot with R and made some documentation lincolna: that's my best guess
the documentation I've found mentions no such connection though fabricius: let me have a look marclaporte: joined #tikiwiki
