I saw a � Missing package: onelogin/php-saml � message on a Tiki which did not have this package installed through Tiki's package system but it is running on a server which does have the linux � php-onelogin-php-saml.noarch : SAML support for PHP � package
Wouldn't it have worked anyway?

Because this was blocking svn installs on 17.x when mcrypt was not installed, PHP-saml was pushed to be a package
which sort of makes sense because it's a niche use case 		[15:41]
JyhemIt all makes sense and I think it's great that we provide it as a package. But now that people actually use it, we see the UX issues :)
BTW: I did install php71-php-mcrypt and mcrypt "just in case" 		[15:43]
