Jyhem: polom
jonnyb: hi Jyhem
Jyhem: playing with {pagination} on Tiki18 and getting weird results for {pagination max="-1"}
At first it looked like it did the expected "no limit" thing. But it's more like "all but one"
So, is "show them all" officially the ugly {pagination max="999999"} ? :-(
jonnyb: yeah, i don't think -1 means anything really for the list plugin max
indeed (if you're expecting that many ;) )
Jyhem: something has to allow "show them all". zero also does not work :-( I should not have to know how amny in advance. It's just going to break later on when the database fills up :-(
Good thing is, the value does not seem to have any limit. I can use {pagination max="999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999"} with no obvious complaint
jonnyb: I think it's a Lucene restriction, most things will break if you ask it to retum millions of records at once...
Jyhem: Yes but others break when they are paginated, like printouts of participants
jonnyb: Oh, you have really really long paper?:P
Jyhem: Well, conventions attendance is, by definition not infinite. Limit being the size of the venue. But I don't know their venues and it may change, so I can't make assumptions :-)
Not a big issue.
I may take on Torsten's table filters storage project
-: Jyhem is still at the early important stage : « how to call the feature » :-)
Jyhem: storedtablefilter ?
jonnyb: Aha, well done, i didn't really understand it
Oh right, that bit - can't you just use the url?
Jyhem: neither did I. It needs demonstrating on the actual table. Then it all makes sense :-)
They can't store the URL since no URL is shown to them when they filter
It's a set of personal pre-filter combos
Not just the values in tablesorter filters, but also the selection of displayed fileds in the show/hide icon
So, they can't just customise their table view and bookmark the url: tablesort is client side.
I see we already have something called "search_stored" with a "templates/search_stored/" directory
jonnyb: Here's the url thing i was talking about that i've used on userlists to show unvalidated users - tiki-adminusers.php?filterNotValidated=on&sort_mode=registrationDate_desc
Thought it might provide a clue on how to do that (maybe)
Jyhem: Thanks! Maybe that's a shortcut for how to display the stored filters.
There's still the fun parts about finding outthe params, storing per-user and per-table, labelling filters, deleting them, displaying them, etc :-)
OTOH, https://doc.tiki.org/Stored+Search looks utterly useless and luckily unrelated
Did you get over the flu and the general plane weariness?
jonnyb: Yes, all ok now thanks, although the kitten makes sure i don't get a lie in ever! :D
