ricks99_doing a project for client with lots of trackers. they (and i agree) don't like how tracker search results are dislayed as (#999) Tracker Item Name [18:56]
mlpvoltluci - if you are around i have been working with pretty trackers this week and was wondering for docs purposes how you define "pretty tracker"
ricks me too!
[18:56]
ricks99_pretty tracker means (AFAIK) a tracker + template (either TPL or wiki page) [18:57]
mlpvoltricks - that was my understanding.
i think the page in docs uses "pretty tracker" defined as a tracker which has a template for item view.
only, whereas a tracker embedded in a wiki page is called a "page selector tracker"
[18:57]
ricks99_how/what is a "tracker embedded in a wiki page"? [18:59]
mlpvoltwhere the tracker item/items are displayed in a wiki page with the pagename=itemname
the wiki page is generated by the tracker.
[19:00]
ricks99_ricks99_ dont think i've ever used/seen that [19:01]
mlpvoltits a pain to set up but pretty, as a "structured wiki"
anyway in my head "pretty tracker covers all uses of templates with trackers.
so i waqs tempted to change the docs to reflect that if there is no objection (quickie EB meeting).
[19:02]
ricks99_sounds good to me [19:05]
mlpvoltluci was a big contributor to those docs so i am seeking his thoughts . . . [19:05]

leagrisanyone willing to discuss issues with editing wiki documents with the wysiwyg editor. I have issue keeping the existing wiki syndax written documents, having proper multi-level titling working with the toc plugin. Wysiwyg editor seems to mainly destroy the wiki markup. Using 6.x RC1 from CVS. !!#header become <h2 class="showhide_heading". Did I do something wrong or is it an unknown feature/bug?
Furthermore, UTF-8 encoded content with accents is translated to html entities. What the point in using UTF-8 then?
The website is here: http://www.lyceechaptal.fr/tiki/ If you need an account to test/verify issue, please tell

But some people are still reporting it is not working on another server... not sure why - html purifier needs to be on
But if you want to preserve wiki syntax in general, for now, the recommended way is to not use fckeditor
or ckeditor I mean
[20:57]
leagrisnkoth, by chance do you know about the accents characters replaced by html entity names instead of beying UTF-8 encoded? [20:58]
luciashjoeboy_: i have no experience with WAMPP [20:58]
nkothleagris, not sure - could be a feature. but not sure if it's realted to ckeditor or not
or html purifier for that matter
[20:58]
luciashjoeboy_: is it just in the installer ? or whole Tiki ? the PHP warning [20:59]
nkothleagris: but is it htmlencoded only for display or also saved in the db? [20:59]
joeboy_luciash: it's only for testing on my machine. if the upgrade works well i'll upload to a server. i think there is a apache
just the installer
[21:00]
leagrisnkoth, it is a new CMS so, as long as it works properly, I should not care, or care of the users not wiki syntax literate. But I must ensure it work as intended :) [21:00]
***Tikiwiki|bot has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection) [21:00]
luciashah, ok, with IIS it shouldn't be much different, only sending mails via PHP mail() is not supported (you have to set up using SMTP in Tiki instead) and the .htaccess files are not working on IIS (they use the ISS specific ones instead)
joeboy_: ^
[21:01]
nkothleagris: actually I did commit it
which version 6 are you on?
[21:01]
leagrisckeditor is fine if it can organize content and keep header hierarchy, indexing, internal links and all the wiki principles. That ruled the choice for tiki instead of other CMSs [21:02]
nkothinternal links are ok [21:02]
luciashjoeboy_: i would rather test on the server though in separate dir than on another machine to make sure all works [21:02]
nkothtoc is ok on my server
whats indexing?
[21:02]
leagrisnkoth, if I do a cvs checkout now, I will bring your update or I must wait a bit? [21:03]
joeboy_luciash: yes, I could try this [21:03]
nkothleagris: if you svn update/ checkout the 6.x branch it's there. But make sure you have htmlpurifier turned on
if you rant he wysiwyg profile it should be on already
[21:03]
leagrisnkoth, meant structures toc and document tocs :) [21:04]
nkothI haven't tried structures toc but that should not be affected by wysiwyg since it's at the page level
I have page toc from headings
[21:04]
luciashchealer: on the Microsoft's WAG there is still 5.3, why not 6.0 ? it says "Date Added:11/11/2010" [21:05]
leagrisgreat, time to cvs checkout :) [21:05]
luciashleagris: svn ;) [21:05]
leagrisyup
cvs svn git, fuckeditor... sorry I'm so messy ;D
[21:05]
chealerluciash: I'm not planning to rush the upgrade to 6. plus there's an issue upgrading to 6 on Windows that needs to be fixed [21:06]
nkothI actually think, leagris that rc1 has my fix [21:06]
chealerinfo, doc, dev back [21:06]
luciashchealer: oh ? what issue ?
joeboy_: see ? there is an issue...
joeboy_: sorry, i didn't know about that
[21:06]
nkothI did it in r30184 | nkoth | 2010-10-2
10-21 i mean
that was before RC1
[21:07]
joeboy_luciash: not your fault [21:08]
nkothleagris: so don't go running to recheckout ust et [21:08]
leagrisrunning svn update now, then I'll push that to the server via rsync as I can't do svn from the server directly [21:09]
nkothwhen you used {maketoc} previously, it didn't work? [21:10]
chealerchealer put a link to download Tiki 6 in the announcement [21:12]
leagrisnkoth, did not work, maybe it was still B6 [21:12]
nkothwhen did you check it out, date wise [21:12]
leagrisI disabled ckeditor for a while, writing plain old wiki markup, but the end users will surely prefer ckeditor, copy-pasting from word instead of learning a strange markup ;d [21:13]
nkothand did you turn on wysiwyg using the profile, or by checking checkboxes? [21:13]
leagrischeckboxes [21:13]
chealerluciash: an SQL issue, failed queries due to unbuffered queries. not usual stuff [21:13]
leagrischecked off by checkboxes as it was enabled after install [21:14]
nkothleagris: in that case, fyi my settings are: Content is parsed like wiki page: on, Content is partially wiki parsed: off , Use Wiki syntax in WYSIWYG: off , Wiki paragraph formatting: on, but still create line breaks within paras: on, ajax and ajax auto-save: on
and very important HTML Purifier: on
[21:16]
leagrisok
Hope the issue with html entities replacing UTF-8 encoded characters will sort out.
[21:19]
nkothleagris: why is that a problem? [21:20]
leagrisStorage size, old-school off as page encoding is UTF-8
as well as database
will be a problem with text search
guess what will happen when a user search "élève" (student) and the database contains text with "élèves"
[21:21]
***Tikiwiki|bot has joined #tikiwiki [21:23]
nkothleagis: I am interested to knw too if it is saved in the db as entities? Is it? [21:23]
leagrisnkoth, one moment I'll tell you
For now I can confirm RC1 does not work with toc plugin with hx headings. Edited last part of a document and it dissapeared from the toc
will go check the db content
[21:23]
nkothleagris, the structures toc plugin?
I'm confused
The headings toc plugin actually is not a plugin, it's {maketoc}
[21:25]
leagrisok, actually, the text in database as well as text served via HTTP is not entity encoded
Only ckeditor displays entities when clicking show source
Yes {maketoc}
[21:31]
nkothleagris: have you checked your html purifier setting yet? [21:32]
leagrisThe page is actually here http://www.lyceechaptal.fr/tiki/tiki-index.php?page_ref_id=5
yes purifier is on
It destroyed hyerarchy of last section when I edited the section.
Now that I edited the whole document, I no longer have sections editable individually.
[21:33]
nkothah right
the section edit may not be fixed yet
let me try that
[21:34]
leagrisThe last section is numbered 1 instead of 5.3 [21:35]

***rodrigo_sampaio has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving.) [21:37]
nkothleagris: I think perhaps you should forget about ckeditor [21:37]
leagriserf, no automatic numbering of sections in wysiwyg, no choice for header levels [21:38]
nkothyeah, those don't work [21:39]
leagrisnkoth, you join my point here thanks. I wondered if I did something wrong
hard choice between easy for dummies users, or structured content
guess what, the content will be edited by high school teachers and the worst ones with editing content are teaching math ;D
Would have dreamed they mastered LaTeX and arcane syntax and strict structures, but no-way :}
My best beta-tester editor teacher is teaching economy :)
the worst one teach math and provides content from BMP pictures scans of handwritings over ruled paper ;D
Well, he will use the upload button, but I really should block BMP and help him user at least jpegs

Trebly<sylvieg>Hello, I wrote to Marc to tell him that I organized my job so that I could be in London. As I have never sent a mail to members (to others than Marc), so to set up this trip, while I hurry to implement what is necessary so that everything goes well, I don't know how to send an e-mail to Jonny about the accomodation for London Tikifest [21:46]
leagrisHave a nice Tikifest guys [21:47]
luciashbueheheheh, tiki-admin_toolbars.php does WSOD on 64M memory_limit [21:53]

stewardSplain please. Where do I find the pointer? [22:44]
ricks99visuall verify that the information in your ../db/local.php file is correct [22:44]
stewardAll same both places. Normally that is correct as "localhost" refers to host.
My db name+user+pass is same on both
[22:46]
luciashany idea what is the input field for appearing while editing wiki syntax for internal wiki links via the toolbar icon; the text field is called "Semantic relation:" ?
does it mean we can have syntax like ((foo|bar|rel=box;)) for internal wiki links too ?
[22:46]
ricks99if it is the same, then both are looking for the same site. [22:48]
nkothluciash semantic relation is like "alias"
it is like (alias(page))
[22:48]
luciashnkoth: ah, thx [22:48]
nkothI've been trying for the last 10 min to get a new module to have a title other than it's technical name
oh ok I see my bug now
the _info function was not named right

luciashhuh [23:17]
nkothluciash: it's my "new" development server, not used to it [23:22]
luciash:)
i just wonder how file permissions affect displaying module title
[23:22]
nkothmy new module php file was not readable by apache, but since the tpl file was ok, it kind of showed...
in fact now I learn that you don't actually need a module php, only a module tpl for a module to work lol
